Cheap Construction. Failed within 18 months – Nice aesthetics. Shoddy materials and construction. Flimsy, plastic 'fake wood look' lever mechanism which controls cap/steam whistle failed after only 18 months of use. I have submitted a warranty claim.

Purchased at RACO Cookware for $49.90.

Update: On April 21, 2022, I finally received a reply from Meyer/RACO (25 days after my warranty submission through their website) asking for images of product and its problem area and implying that the kettle is an electrical appliance ("For electrics assessment the following images are required"). I replied today (May 4, 2022) with four images.
