RACV Trades

Tim kept us informed about his arrival as he was held up (perfectly understandable, not an issue). He unblocked the under-house suspended pipeline quickly then tested flow from the furthest point. He has a professional but easygoing manner, a pleasure to deal with.

The young man that came out was lovely. He did what he could but could not unblock the blockage unfortunately & I don't have $600 + to have it fixed. So will do what I can through google & you tube .

I had booked for assistance at 9.00am on 7/05/2026. I was told help will be on the way between 60-90mins. I said OK. I called at 10.35 to be told they will check. line. She said all she can do is put in the complain to check, which I had already done twice, but she insisted she cannot do anything to help me. Immediately after the phone I got SMS for Job Confirmation. Again another SMS came (11.35am) that Jake G will arrive in approx 12 mins. Job Quote H261270099. At 12.21pm I got call from Domain Plumber that they will reach in 1Hr. No one came till 1.38pm, when I called Domain and they said they got some more jobs so it will be another 30mins ( I was shifted back on list as Maybe I was NOT IMPORTANT Customer). Finally the plumber arrived at 2.28pm ( after 50 mins) and told me he cannot climb the roof as it was wet and the Work has to be rescheduled.... All the drama for ZERO outcome. My full day Wasted... The whole Melbourne knows it is raining and the roof will be wet, why cant we be told that work cannot be performed due to wet roof? Why waste our time and plumbers efforts?

in my LoungeThe call time was excellent and the Tradie was a very helpful person who did an inspection explained that he would only be able to find the cause once he was able to check the Roof Tiles he mentioned that the inspection could only be done on a " DryDay" which is understandable. He will contact me when this is possible so more than that I cannot expect. This is what I call Excellent Service considering the Weather.

Plumber arrived in the morning and he answered all our questions. Issue rectified within 1 hr and steps to take to speed up water drain in the carpet.

Craig was awesome and experienced professional. He was able to resolve the electricity outage issue within 30 mins with careful replacement of security switch ensuring circuit wires are back in properly.

My first time to ring the emergency line. Prompt action, plumber came within the hour as promised, Brent was most helpful, was able to fix the gas heater, which is now working. Very pleased with the service and serviceman. Thank you. GS

The RACV Emergency Trades person [Romero S] arrived within 30 minutes and was able to correct the issue that we were having with a burst water pipe in our front garden. He was a well organised trades person and did a great job for us. Thankyou.

something like "ah, ok". I did not like her tone and the way she spoke to me/the words she used. The tone and way she spoke made me feel like I was disturbing her and l should not have called her at all. I only called as I was promised a phone call and never received a call and wanted to find out what was going on. They should not say someone will call when none does. I could have looked for other tradies myself much earlier as it was getting late in the working day to organise someone to come on the same day to fix the issue. I have had a younger tradie come out previously and even though I could tell he was extremely busy and the initial message said that he would be there in 4 minutes however came much later and I once again had to call to find out what was going on, it was not unpleasant like it was on this occasion. I am seriously considering cancelling my membership and just finding my own tradies when I need them.

Plumber spent no longer than 5 minutes at our home. Very poor attempt at fixing the problem (which he didn't fix) before trying to charge us more for a service apparently not included in what he was called out to do.

The electrician did not carry out any work. He mentioned in the job summary that he had reset the RCD and confirmed that power was restored, but no action was taken from his side as we had already reset the RCD. Toilet blocked, plumber, who was very prompt and friendly, got straight down to work. Tried to unblock but needed heavier tools, which apparently they don't carry.

We had a great experience with our plumber today. He quickly diagnosed the issue with our hot water system and explained everything clearly along the way. His knowledge and professionalism really stood out, and he had the problem resolved in no time. Super helpful, efficient, and easy to deal with. Highly recommend his services to anyone needing reliable plumbing support.

When I snapped my back door key off in the lock on a public holiday, I imagined I'd have to leave the door unlocked overnight. But when I rang RACV Home Assist, they had a tradesman, Nathan, arrive at my home a short time later and within minutes he had removed the snapped key from the lock and tightened up the moving parts so that everything was working perfectly again. I am very happy with the outstanding service I received. Thank you!

The plumber attended the site within an hour’s time even though it was early morning on a public holiday and long weekend. He was very skilled, attentive and compassionate. He helped us maintain our calm and was very positive. I highly recommend the trades person and the contact centre staff for promptly jumping to help us during this home emergency where our house was flooded due to a burst pipe.

Nathan from RACV HOME ASSIST attended to our concern, the automatic garage door was not working. He came earlier than the expected time provided. He assessed the problem and fixed it. He explained the cause of the problem thoroughly. One thing for sure, RACV hires excellent knowledgeable people. Thanks RACV, we can always rely on you at home and on the road.

RACV Emergency Assist is worth every penny! We had a plumbing issue (broken tap) - and RACV sent out a very competent, friendly and polite plumber within about 90 minutes (they'd warned us it was busy that day - but 90 minutes seemed to us to be terrific!) who soon repaired it. This was on a Saturday afternoon. You only have to use your subscription once a year to cover the cost. Can't recommend this system highly enough. Les, Doncaster

experience, relatively minor issues have been presented as major faults, with recommendations for full replacements and very high quotes in the range of $4,000–$6,000. This feels excessive for the actual work required and can be quite frustrating and concerning as a customer.

More importantly, experiences like this can negatively impact RACV’s reputation. Customers trust RACV for honesty and reliability, and when subcontractors do not reflect those standards, it affects the overall perception of the brand.

RACV provides a valuable and efficient service, but stronger oversight and quality control of subcontractors would significantly improve customer trust and ensure the service consistently meets the high standards people expect from RACV.

They turned up quickly and prompt and were friendly. But for a leaking roof the plumber told me he doesn't even have a ladder. So basically he turned up took a photo and left.

impressed with him neglecting me and going off to socialise. When he finally can in, he firstly wanted to cut out the Ceiling Plaster, which I objected too, as it was raining I under stood that he couldn't get up on the roof. This was not a good experience and reflects badly on RACV Home Assist. I will certainly think hard re paying for a future Policy.

Really excellent service. On a public holiday the leaking pipe was repaired within 3 hours. Not an easy fix either, as it was in the cavity wall and needed some creativity to implement the join. Brilliant!

I urgently needed assistance to get my dishwasher operating and fridge water hose extended. I contacted RACV Emergency Assist for the first time at 4:45pm and Domenic B arrived at 5:20pm. Extraordinary. Within 30 minutes Domenic had completed all requested works, cleaned up and was an outstanding communicator. Overall I couldn’t have been more impressed. Thankyou.
