Never again! Don't use Rapid Car Removals – I didn't read any reviews beforehand and now HIGHLY regret it; - Quoted me $400 over the phone - Ended up being 2.5 hours late - Guy took a look at the car and said it's too badly damaged and needs to go to scrap - I ended up needing to pay HIM $100, so I was in a loss - Car was taken away Absolutely ridiculous, I have another car I need to wreck soon and I will NOT be using Rapid Car Removals, or ever again. Don't fall into the trap
Untrustworthy – Stay away from this company. This is a very dodgy organization. I have called Victoria Police and reported an incident today 17/10/24. They provided a quotation and on pick up offered zero. Towed the car away without calling me and now will not allow me to get another organization to pick up the vehicle without me paying them.
You ripped of my daughter took her car and didn’t pay her the money you said you were and this just happened a few days ago you owe her $500 the police will be involved now if you don’t pay her! You know who she is, ignoring her calls and text! How dare you robbed a innocent person

Scammers and bullies – Agreed to pick up a car and offered cash. Turned up, said it was worth nothing and then proceeded to haggle the price until I said I would call his boss as this is not what had been agreed. Went from $500 to $0 to $300, $400 and back to $500. Said they would pay cash then offered PayID and then finally did a bank transfer.
So far seems ok – Had the guy pick up my old Mazda today. They were quick. Paperwork was on their carbon paper book. They had name address DOB & wanted a pic of drivers licence. I debated this as too much sensitive info for an unreg car. I settled to give them passport ID instead. I showed proof it was mine as VIN on my rego papers as I only cancelled reg 2 days… Read more
prior. Paid via bank transfer as I didn't want to do payID whatever that is. It may be just my over cautiousness about scammers but they seem legit.
Late and didn't stick to quote – Let's start with the positives: they provide an easy and quick service to get rid of your old car, and provide a proper receipt with ABN etc. For that they get two stars. Here are my two cents for the rest of their service: - Fake reviews! Don't take my word for it, just scroll down to [name removed].' review and see how '[name removed]' replies… Read more
to himself, thanking himself for the lovely review (I guess they forgot to log out of the fake account?). Screenshot attached in case it gets taken down. - Driver was an hour late and didn't apologise at all. - I got quoted $100 over the phone. Told them the car was old, had overheating and engine problems and was probably ready for scrapping - $100 it was then. Driver arrived, looked at the dip stick for two seconds and said they can't pay anything as it has 'water in the engine'. Of course he offered to take it for free. Obviously a well-rehearsed excuse and I had already told them the car was not roadworthy anymore - why now pay less, what is the point of these quotes over the phone? We haggled for a few minutes and settled for $50. Honestly it wasn't about the money, it was the whole bogus quote and spiel that bugs me. - The driver paid with cash, which I thought was no longer legal in Victoria?
Had to put my foot down. But they did what they promised – Called in and got a quote for removal of a non-functional car - their quote was the highest, by a significant amount. Tow arrived on time, however, had to spend half an hour haggling with the driver to get the price that was promised over the phone. However I did ultimately get the cash promised on the spot for the services rendered, hence the 3… Read more
star review (otherwise they would get a big old 0 stars). I can understand why people would be extremely displeased with this way of doing business, it looks like I just got lucky and had an honest driver this time. Once they fire him for not extorting me like it seems all their other drivers do (based on reading others' reviews) I can't expect them to be in business much longer.
Positive reviews
Free Scrap Car Removal – Sold my old Astra for scrap. They offered me free towing and disposal was done without any cost. They canceled rego on the spot and gave me all the paperwork.
Great service – Driver was fast efficient and friendly great service. Turned up early and was knowledgeable and was able to have the car hooked up and ready to be removed quickly. Thank you.
Reliable Business! – Seeing mixed reviews was doubtful to book a pick up. But i had a good experience. Paid the agreed amount, came on time and all paperwork done in 15 minutes. What an easy way to scrap a car…
Negative reviews
Unprofessional and Untrustworthy – VERY VERY POOR. Unprofessional and ZERO care. Do not recommend. Was quoted a price. Full description of car, year and model. ‘Made a call’ to the boss and magically quote was reduced by a very large amount.
BEWARE AND AVOID THIS DODGY BUSINESS ! – Got ripped off $200 at the last minute, made my dad push the car to the truck and once it was all the way there they dropped the price too $150 and knew my dad would have to take it as he wouldn't be able to push it back himself. I called multiple times over 3 days and he's sticking to the same script "I'm not sure what's going on ill check with… Read more
the driver and get back to you.. with no result or even a call back.. DO NOT engage with this business unless serving him a cup of his own medicine! I will investigate further as I am motivated to injure his malicious business practice enough to deter him from doing it again.
Also Be aware of the OLD seemingly FAKE 5 star reviews on google flooding out the real reviews exposing this sort of activity. In my opinion I think it's just an amount of time until they rip the wrong person off that has access to objects of persuasion and the intent to carry out the act of that persuasion..
Worst experience ever dont trust these scammers – Rude arrogant, very untrustworthy they said they would buy my car and then decided not to buy the car because they didnt want to drive here.Stay away from this company.

Good place to sell unwanted cars – Wanted to share the amazing experience I had with this business. My friend suggested me this place after he sold his two cars to them and told me to try this place. As expected, treated me so well and answered all my queries related to selling my car. Suggesting to all who wants a quick and easy car removal.
Professional bunch of people! – Found this place by Google search. Called few more cash for cars places. Overall Rapid had the best professional approach and maximum price. Undoubtedly best place in Melbourne to sell old car. Thanks for the driver and the guy who made all arrangements in 2hrs. Your professionalism needs a lot of appreciation.
Perfect Cash For Cars! – Booked to remove my 25 year old car from my garage. Appreciate their staff for the great work done. They have a professional team who made my car removal so easy and smooth. Process was explained clearly over the phone and was on time as agreed. Happy with the cash that paid which I never expected. Give a try and they won’t disappoint you! Also thanks for introducing me to product review.
Removal Of My Scrap Car – Sold my rusty falcon to them for cash. They offered free removal as agreed. My overall experience was good. Driver came on time and did the paperwork and helped to take off my plates. Happy to choose them again for car removals.
Will try to rip you off – Will try to stooge you from quoted price. Quoted $750 on the phone but then tried to say $450 as the car had engine problems (it didn’t) Disappointing having to barter in a situation that is already stressful.
These guys will rip you off – Same story as lots of others. Quoted $300 over the phone. Guy turns up. Quick look at the car. When was it last driven. Any car that hasn’t been driven for a month has to be scrapped apparently. He said he’d take it away for nothing or he could leave it. I said fine leave it. He said do you want money for the car? Then offered and paid me $150. Wish I’d read the reviews before hand then I would have expected the shoddy behavior at least.
Yuck company – Receptionist said I would get $300 for my car told her it was a dead battery but otherwise perfect the man came to tow it then told me because I hadn’t started the car in a month I wouldn’t get any money eventually he rang his “boss” and said he’d give me $150 I’m moving so needed it gone but $150 when the said $300 luckily I have call recorder and Will take it further
Avoid like the plague – After reading most of the reviews here, seems that I've experienced the same scam as others. So here's how they set it up. 1: They offer you a rather enticing cash price for your car. (For me it was $500) 2: Then they say only if they can pick up your car within 24-48 hours. 3: The truck arrives and the driver inspects the engine and reviews the… Read more
dipstick. 4: Then promptly informs you there's water mixed in the oil and the heads are cracked so the car's only scrap. ( Informed the receptionist about the status of the car prior and still they agreed to pay $500 ) I deal with a mechanic who has 30 years of experience and even he couldn't diagnose this as an certainty. 5: The driver claims he's a mechanic of three years and then offers you half the agreed price.
At that point I contacted the receptionist and she said the driver was the partner of the business. I asked the driver again what was his position? Again he said only a mechanic. I asked him what cash amount he was told to pay and he said $500 but he had final say. So a breach of contract (Verbal agreement as weak as it is). Basically said take it or leave it. Informed him of the contractual obligations but it meant nothing. So you have three options either negate a better price, which I did of $400, refuse to sell the car, which in my option reflecting back, the best option because they lose money or accept their offer. These people are lairs and deliberately try to take advantage of the situation. They are misleading and offer falsehoods. Avoid them like the plague and deal with an Australian businessman.
A frustrating experience, felt helpless – Agreed to a price over the phone after looking at this company's website and thinking that they were reputable. Pick-up was booked in at very short notice and all appeared great and on schedule for after I finished my work shift.. Half an hour later I receive a text message from them saying that they won't be picking up the car because their… Read more
Manager feels that the price is too high. Instead of even offering something else they try to defend their position and simply cancel the booking, and then end up offering me a price that was slightly under 50% of what we had initially agreed. I could not and did not accept this offer despite being courteous, but left feeling furious at how these companies operate without ethics and ripping customers off for the sake of a few hundred dollars, when people are ALREADY taking a loss by selling their cars to these groups and not through a private sale. Now experiencing more difficulty with another company today that have not kept to the booking arrangements, who are telling me lies just to get out of honouring the arrangement that we had. You will be conned, BEWARE..
Stay away for your own sake! – My experience with them was absolutely terrible and I would like to give them minus 5* if it was possible. They offered me slightly more than another company but at settlement dropped it down straight by 70% making lame excuses, although they had all info and pictures of every angle of the car right from the beginning. They trick & trap people by… Read more
making good offers then negotiate badly when settling. Their driver kept going back and forth on the phone, coming back with new offers trying to push as much as possible. Absolute traitors who follow unethical practices.. Stay away!!!
Worst company. Biggest scammers. Stay away – Called to get a working car, (but needs some serious fixing) removed from our property, was asked six questions, have we got the keys? The year, the make, the model, what suburb is pick up? and how much do we want? Got told $200 is what they will pay, tow truck arrives, takes a look at the engine, says it’s worth $50 and he’s just wasted his… Read more
whole day driving to our suburb, we said it’s not our fault, the person on the phone didn’t ask about the condition of the car, we said we would take $100, he pleaded with us to take $50 then told us that this was “a quick job but a crap result and a waste of time” We continued to say there are great parts on the car it’s worth more than $50, he then continued to say it was the person in the office fault, she’s new, and didn’t ask the right questions. We got $100 in the end. Do not use. Scammers. Stay away, find someone local.
Be Aware - Don't stick to quote – I got quoted $300 over the phone for a renault scenic. The driver turns up looked at the dip stick for the oil and says 'it has water in the oil the head gasket has gone' and would only pay $250. That is not the case the car is in good drive worthy condition. Be aware of dodgey excuses so he can get away with paying less than the quoted price. I DO NOT RECOMMEND.
Excellent service – I called last night to get a quote and was told our cars would be collected today. A quote and time were given. The driver arrived on time and there was no haggling over the price. Thank you for the excellent service.
Maximum Amount For Old Cars! – For their price, I will give five stars. Reducing one star for making me wait for 40 minutes. Overall I am happy with their service and like to recommend for others as well!
Not happy with dishonesty – The customer service seemed all ok to begin with, we had a car in reasonable condition but not worth the process of road worthy etc. They told me twice over the phone they would collect for $300 which even though I knew this was low I accepted to save further hassle. The driver came out, looked at the dipstick and told me that it is burning… Read more
oil....yeah right!! you can tell from the dip stick ?? , the car is not burning oil, we have never needed to top up oil in this car. He must think I'm a complete idiot. Anyway he said its only worth scrap metal and will give me $200 when i walked he quickly said $250.00 and started blaming the girl in the office. The whole thing was a joke and I knew I was being taken for a ride and I told him this. I wish now that I did not let him take it away and that I had stuck to my original quote but at the time, taking time off work etc I just wanted an end to it and the car gone. Dishonest company in my opinion. The driver was polite and mild which saved them slightly, but in reflection he was a great actor. If you use them please please do not budge on your quoted price.
Inconsistent and unreliable – I contacted them in regards to my old car, but advised that since I work full time I wouldn't be able to collect it during the day. Person I spoke to said that was fine, they could arrange a pick up at 5pm in two days time. I come into work early, so that I can leave early and be home by five. At 7:30 I have a missed call from an unknown number.… Read more
By 9am I have 4 missed calls. I call them back on my break and am informed 'yes, we called because the drive was there but you weren't home.' I explained that of course I wasn't, the pick up was booked for 5. The person replies 'oh, so should I schedule this for 5pm?' YES! Rush home from work early, am waiting by my car. Ten minutes past five I get a call saying 'Can we move it to tomorrow, we can't come tonight, as we don't offer collections after 5?' So we go back and forth trying to explain I can't do any other time etc etc Eventually hung up on her. Booked with a competitor who came and picked the car up at 7pm at night. Judging from these other reviews - I dodged a bullet. But still a terrible experience and terrible, terrible customer service. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
If i could give zero stars i would – Same as every other review. Indian guy arrives, says it's worth scrap then offers $100 instead of quoted $300 because of quick look at engine. After saying no deal and a few fake calls to his "boss" the price went magically back up in increments of $50 until we arrived back at the original $300. It was a bad experience i should have read the… Read more

Beware of Driver Tatics – I negotiated $400 dollars for the removal of my car and when the driver pulled up he initially offered me $250 advising me that they will no use for the car except as scrap metal. I explained to him that I already told the person on the phone that the car was working but couldn't go over 30kph without major repairs. I stood my ground as I showed… Read more
him my text message confirming $400.00. He went back to his truck, a few minutes later he offered me $300.00, again I said no. To make a long story short, I got my $400 at the end as I had the price on my phone and also told him another company was prepared to pay me $400.00. If you are going to use this company, make sure you get the price in writing and don't back down! At least he showed up at the agreed time.
Be careful!!! – Like others have commented, quote a fixed price on the phone but a fraction of that when they arrive with their truck. Said he could tell (in 20 seconds) that the engine was no good "I'm very experienced, I can tell" he said. They rely on the fact that you will feel pressure because they are there with their truck ready to go (even though they were supposed to turn up the day before and cancelled). Great scam they have going really...
welldone – i got best price for my car and pick up was great quick and really easy trasaction welldone i would highly recommond to call them about your old car now
Scammers – Do not use this company. Looking at the other reviews, it looks like my experience is not a unique one and is just a part of an act that they do. They'll do a quote for you, then arrive late and claim that they were never told of the condition of the car. Then offer you half, or nothing. I called up their office when I was told this and was… Read more
told that the driver was the boss of the company and it was up to him to decide if he would honour the quote. But I was then told by the driver that he had to call his boss to "see what he could do". Remember, I was told that this man was the boss, so who knows if the call was even real. He proceeds to make a call, then he said that he could offer me $100 under the initially quoted amount because they made a mistake.
This isn't a mistake, this is how they operate. A total scam, and an experience littered with unconvincing lies.
Beware!! Dishonest – I have never felt so passionately about leaving a negative review for a business. I have an old Magna that was unregistered and I was texting with the owner for a quote. I received a quote and was informed collection would take place this morning. Driver arrives and has a quick look at the dipstick and the radiator and informs me the car isn't… Read more
worth anything and he will take it away for free. Apparently my engine is broken? Really? You can tell that from just looking at it. I tell him I am disappointed in that offer and declined his services. He then phoned me from his truck to let me know the owner is now happy to pay me $100. I thought the car wasn't worth anything? I come outside and meet him at the truck where I decline his offer once more. He then offers me $150 and tells me I would have beem advised that the car would need to be checked over before being paid. I showed the texts. That was never advised. I now have my partner with me and we are informing the driver that his conduct is dishonest and unfair and we ask that he leaves.
I then receive a call from a female based at their head office. She asks why I won't hand the car over? Is she for real? You've come out and scammed us. It's my car, I don't have to hand over anything if I don't agree on the price. I tell her what has happened and she speaks over me telling me they will pay what they quoted. My partner gets on the phone and explains to her we aren't interested. She ignores him and keeps saying that they will pay us what is quoted. He hangs up.
The driver is now standing on the road, staring into our house telling us he will pay us. We ask him multiple times to leave our property and eventually we have to threaten the police. He leaves.
If my car isn't worth anything, why did it take us threatening the police for you to leave? What the hell? Your poor behaviour and conduct has exceeded anything I have ever experienced. I feel so passionately about this, I will be reporting to the ACCC. When you are asked politely to leave a property, you do. You should all be ashamed of the scam you are running.
