The entrance and ticketing facilities were well organised and efficient, staffed with friendly people. On entering the cinema, (Number 5 this time), the usual half light was available to help find your way around but the aisle lighting was a bit dim… Read more

although useful. The seat lighting was non-existent, so much so we had to use our phone torch to find the numbers, as did other people searching for their seat numbers. That was a shame because we then saw how old and worn the seats were. Totally unacceptable for public presentation and the company should be ashamed of such a terrible presentation. We will not return to that theatre.

Follow-up  · There was a food (popcorn) service as you entered although I did not use it I would assume the usual soft drinks and sweets would have been available. The movie was entertaining on a large screen while the sound was very loud which is the way of most cinemas today. No complaints except as I wrote earlier.

Paid for gold class at Harbour Town. Cinema was old, smelly and seats were crumbling. Nothing like a gold class experience at $41 per ticket, and there were four of us.

Staff good. Website not good, moving digital promotions which don't allow for easy reading thus taking in all information, thus being disseptive eg....FLASH SALE ALL TICKETS REDUCED TO $13 EVERYDAY....when you arrive small print advises only available to members. Website not easy to use. Candy Bar expensive, choc tops $6.00, ice confection not… Read more

icecream, only 3 flavours, strawberry, mint and vanilla...NO caramel or chocolate What the? AGAIN the website advertised $1 for medium popcorn with any purchase...but guess what ONLY FOR MEMBERS.... we were advised easy enough and FREE to become a member just join on line...YES FREE to join online as a basic membership-Discount Tuesday, weekly newsletter, Exclusive competitions, and special screenings,...for an extra $20 / yr you are a Boost member and receive all of the above plus ticket discount of 15%, candy bar discount 10% AND FREE popcorn refills....yeah.... instead of your small popcorn being $8.50 it's now $7.65, but you can leave movie half through when the cup is empty and get a free refill, yeah that WILL happen...NAH....and if you buy this online, tickets, book seats and food its $1.75 per ticket booking fee....good one, way to Up Sell....think we will stick with our locals in Rockingham.

Rouse Hill Cinema - appalling condition and filthy in general – Reading Cinema have really let their Rouse Hill cinema deteriorate into a dirty and decrepit state. It's not been refurbished or maintained since it opened. Many reclining chairs to gold titan and luxe have been broken for a very long time. Those that do work, offer no back support or seat support due to being so worn. Have totally stopped using… Read more

these cinemas. The vinyl on lounges in most cinemas is totally worn off down to the cloth and are badly stained. Disgusting condition to sit on.. Makes me want to take a plastic bag with me to sit on. The bathroom wall tiles haven't seen a cleaning cloth in years. Have been using this cinema since it opened on a very regular bases due to location but looks Events Castle Hill is going to be my preferred cinema from now on. Disgraceful and dirty for the money they charge.

Filth – Reading cinemas in Devonport Tasmania. This is the sh*tshow my children and I walked into. Absolutely filthy and disgusting!! Lights are off upon finding seats so once you turn on your phone torch this is the horror you’re greeted with.. mentioned it to at least 3 workers even the cleaner.. nobody working there cared! Front service arrogant and rude!

cheap tickets – If you would like to go the movies I would recommend coming here because their tickets are reasonably prices, the seats are extremely comfortable and the popcorn is very tasty.

Extra extra Read all about it. Worth seeing worth Reading – What more can I say? I love the app which is very simple to use, quick and user friendly as well, plus the popcorn is nice and fresh there too. I also have to praise the value for money service Reading Cinemas provides, which is a very memorable cinematic experience on a budget. The tickets are almost half price in comparison to what they… Read more

cost to go to a mainstream cinema. You pay just over $20 a person for a Gold Lounge ticket (top of the range) which is very good. I also like how there is a middle tier pricing option for premium sessions where you get the recliner seats for about $15 or $16 a person.

All up good food, good app, good ticket prices. Makes for a good night out. Who does not love a good flick?

Broken wheelchair lift DFO Jindalee Reading Cinema. Staff use a child's paint brush to open the Broken door to access entry and exit to get into the lift whilst I have been begging them to fix for the past 6 months l had a traumatic fall Saturday night whilst a staff member unjammed the door she hadn't raised the lift level with the floor that I… Read more

was on. I was cinformed to drive onto the lift with being unable to see the lift floor and the floor due to poor lighting.I was on floor where not flush and level with the lift floor I drove slowly towards the lift until I hit the metal edge then suddenly went crashing nose first down into the lift with my heavy chair and I staring at the glass panel at the end of this lift. I grabbed a hold of the side of the lift and put my one working foot and leg strength onto the floor to try to hold myself and my 200kg wheelchair from pushing me through the glass and down a floor. I am just grateful my carer was there because she dragged my wheelchair back of the lift onto flat ground whilst I was visibly shaken and in shock. I've hurt my shoulder and left leg because of the banging and knocking going down into this lift plus the pressure and strain of my left leg holding my chair and I up. The staff having no training with the safety of the lift but not having it repaired and maintenance done on it is unacceptable after requesting maintenance be done urgently

Hi Reading Cinema, I've been waiting 8 days for a reply on an online form submitted on the 24/04/2025 after receiving advice from a third party I bought tickets through to enjoy a movie at 10am on 22/04/2025. The barcode purchased from the 3rd party rewards program was considered invalid and I was forced to purchase an extra ticket. It is already… Read more

quite expensive to enjoy a movie going experience and to be scolded by the manager on duty who refused to accept a pre-purchase ticket with proof of payment was shocking and disappointing. It truly ruined the whole experience for me and I have not stopped thinking about it. Would love your help to resolve this. Ive gone back to the third party purchaser and they've advised me that Reading Cinema Head Office would love to work with me to resolve this so how will you help me from here? I've done all the right things and no one is taking any responsibility or accountability. Please help me. This issue also happened while I was on holidays interstate. I reside in Brisbane but the incident occurred in Epping, Melbourne. Thank you

Why offer services and not deliver – Good movie but seats are pretty old ,noisy and shabby in Gold class for over $40 per ticket . We bought online with a coffee during the movie that never came.It took 10 minutes to resolve and get a refund. It spoilt the movie as my wife got very frustrated about the coffee not coming out Very disappointing

Cannot book movies online with a gift card – Gift cards not working to book online (appears to be a known issue). At the end of the process you receive an error without further explanation. You then have to wait 10 mins to try to book the same seats, and it fails again anyway. The only way to use gift cards is to go into a cinema to book. So frustrating!

Website Hopeless – What is it with the Readings Cinemas Website? All I want to find is session times in 2 days time and it will show 1 movie only. This site is a regular offender. The IT guy at Readings needs to have a look at the Village website to see how it's done. Frustrating and can't be good for their business.

Can't believe staff treat customers this way – I'd like to bring an issue to the attention of senior management regarding the abysmal experience and customer service my wife and I received at your Belmont site. Having been a loyal customer of reading belmont for over 10 years what we experienced today was nothing short of a disgrace. Decided to treat ourselves and get gold class. The… Read more

experience however was probably closer aligned to mud than gold. We'd purchased our food and tickets onsite so to have a smooth process. When we arrive we simply asked for our popcorn and drinks for the first half and warm food for the second half. Fairly standard request considering this is an option the Reading group advertises on your website. Once we confirmed our request we walked towards our screen only to be chased down by the attendant (whom I believe to have been on drugs) to confirm which items he would bring in which order. This was odd as it was less than 60 seconds ago he had been informed and confirmed. An hour and 10 minutes into the film still haven't received anything at all, not even my drink all mind you which I've pre paid for. I went out to complain and spoke with [Name Removed] who was incredibly apologetic and confirmed this was not acceptable and would in turn be giving me a full refund. [Name Removed] says she will bring me my refund while I'm watching the film which was wasn't ideal at all for myself or any of the other paying customers in the screening room. As I was provided my refund in the pitch black of a movie theatre I wasn't able to verify if the correct refund had been given. In line with my experience so far it turns out the wrong refund was provided. Bare in mind [Name Removed] guaranteed me I was to get a full refund. I leave the screen upon realising a further error has been made by a reading employee to seek out [Name Removed]. Turns out she had left for the day which brings us to the worst experience of the day at your site. [Name Removed] was argumentative, confrontational, rude and insulting in front of everyone with in ear shot. She refused to provide the remaining refund and also said had I spoken to her originally I wouldn't have got the amount back that I did. All in all absolutely disgusting. I would like to be contacted by your state manager to discuss then entirety of my agreed upon refund and to lodge a formal complaint against [Name Removed].

Worse cinema for little kids – Went to see transforms with kids. Some lady with blonde hair wouldn't let my kids breath. The second they moved from there spot she would approach them. Asked if I wanted to watch a kids movie.. I clearly came to watch transformers.

Jindalee QLD no disabled access – My mum was taking my elderly grandma out to see a movie as a special treat. She has mobility issues so uses a wheelchair. No access to the cinema for anyone unable to climb the stairs. Worse,… Read more

they were extremely rude when a refund on the *wheelchair* tickets were requested, extremely unhelpful and couldn't care less that grandmas outing was ruined. Furthermore the lifts have apparently been 'out of order' for a long time, and they have not made any arrangements to fix them. Fairly sure this is illegal. Anyway, if you have limited mobility, don't give your business to Reading Cinemas!

Popcorn – Your popcorn is very nice and reasonably priced. However Have you ever thought of the salt content in the popcorn? I think its unhealthy. Thank you for your anticipated action on this suggestion.

Waurn Ponds Excellent – Been to Readings Waurn Ponds a number of times in last couple of months. Easy booking system to avoid queues. Super clean cinemas fantastic brilliant sound, recliners along with friendly staff. Always an enjoyable experience. Parking brilliant compared with Village Geelong where you are likely to get a parking fine from inspectors who deliberately target movie goers.

Worst experience I’ve ever had – Paid $68 for tickets to Gold Class at Rouse Hill and over $70 for food and drinks. Seats were tattered and torn service was terrible and the food ….well let’s just say won’t be going back there!

I thought I was dim until I went to Reading Cinema Belmont – Don't get me wrong! The place, its staff all great! The three movies I've viewed at Reading recently were presented so dimly, my eyes couldn't adjust to see the movies. Really frustrating when you can't just turn up the brightness. Made for three times visual stress.

Disappointed – It is the second time that I go to this cinema in different theaters and the smell of mold and humidity is extremely uncomfortable and unpleasant. I will not return to this cinema. No point booking online, – Went to Reading cinema Harbourtown on Sunday 14th Nov to see the new JB movie Paid the extra $3 and booked online so I wouldn't have to stand in the queue. When I arrived I was told I had to go to the ticket counter and pick up my tickets, so I still had to queue at the counter to get my tickets. Bit of a $3 rort booking online. Shame on you Reading.

USED CONDOM WITH COMBO – So went to WEST LAKES reading - Thursday 4th 2021 - Went looking forward to a bit of escapism and went into one of their 'Titan lux' cinema's. DIDN'T handle it! [Name Removed] ran away from me after the session was over and was to busy to talk to me. Leaving the young lady to try and mollify me.

Age of Covid and this cinema is falling with it's general cleanliness (floors and counter regularly sticky) This was the last straw!

They have a lot to offer with top notch sound and seating but they are failing in the most basic ways with below par cleaning.....Or maybe it's a new combo they are offering....Drink, choc top and a USED CONDOM!

If I could give less one star I would – First time in a while my wife and I went to the movies (Mandurah Reading Cinema) and what a disappointment. Firstly the toilets were disgustingly dirty. Maybe not cleaned today at all. Secondly the staff also obviously don’t keep an eye on the patrons coming in and out of other movies as a young lady (maybe in early 20’s) came into the movie… Read more

that we were watching about half way through the movie with about five rowdy little kids (ages between 6-10) who were running around and being a nuisance (maybe saying more about the mother than the cinema) and when usher came in to check on people watching the movie, two of the young kids sitting on their own in the first seats nearest to the entry still being rowdy. The usher with a dumb look on his face didn’t say anything to these children (especially seeing that the movie was rated MA). What a joke.

Lastly the wall lights were turned on about 15 minutes before the movie finished.

I will never be attending this cinema again and would rather drive the extra 40km to go to another cinema.
