Reliable product backed by first class service – I don't usually write reviews. If the thing I purchased fails and I get the run around from the person or company I purchased the product from I simply move on I just can't be bothered. But on this occasion I need to write a review on the service and the products I have purchased from Redarc. I have had dual battery systems in most of my vehicles;… Read more

I learnt early on that unless I had installed Redarc components I was always going to have problems hence here I am vouching for their products. I have moved away from "installed dual battery systems" and gone over to the GoBlock. I have two GoBlocks one that remains in the vehicle (constantly in use) and one that is set aside for vehicles without a an auxiliary system. Redarc should stand as an icon of Australian manufacturing the products produced at their site in SA are truly reliable and are backed by 24/7 service and assistance. I don't know how many times I have had to reach out for help.Let me qualify this by saying the help I required was a result of me not knowing or understanding the components/ operations of the product as well as I should have. The Redarc Rep I deal with in WA is so helpful and will contact me a day or two later to check that everything is as it should be. I recently had to send a product back to SA ( I had dislodged the on/of switch on the 100ah GoBlock see attached pdf) I emailed photos of the problem, to Redarc, I received an email for the Auto Electrician I was to take the GoBlock to. Two weeks later the GoBlock was returned as new with no cost to me. In the meantime the WA Redarc app contacted me with progress reports. Seriously who does that these days.

Design flaw makes the Dock an unnecessary redundancy – The GoBlock is designed to facilitate securing straps and has a charging port (Anderson plug) which can be used for either Solar or alternator charging. The negatives of this option are you will need a wire running from your car battery to the GoBlock which you will have to manually switch each time to wish to charge from an alternative source… Read more

(eg. Solar). You may however be able to use a splitter to connect solar and alternator simultaneously – I never checked this as I did not want wiring inside the tub of my ute. The positive is you save $495 on the cost of the dock and another $520 + wiring costs on the fitment of the dock and can place your solar port anywhere and you retain flexibility in you tub by not installing a permanent fixture.

ARB advised that the wiring to the GoBlock PowerDock would enter it directly from underneath the tub. My understanding was I would have no wires in the tub which could be damaged by cargo. Unfortunately this is not true. I have a 10cm long protrusion between the dock and the point where the wiring penetrates the ute tub which needs protecting. ARB recommend I fit a metal cover over this and Redarc (Shane Chestnut) is avoiding me – he replied with a generic email and a wiring diagram but has ignored 3 telephonic messages, one of which was with his receptionist who confirmed he was aware of my attempts to discuss the matter with him.

I am left with the opinion that the dock is an unnecessary extravagance which will require wiring replacement in future
