Don't waste money
Don't waste your money on these vouchers. Give cash or buy through restaurants or experiences direct. It's always the same dining and or experiences in hot air ballooning, mudgee or Hunter...boring
Easy process, amazing experience!
I booked through Red Balloon to go hot air ballooning. It was such an easy process, payment was simple and the instructions were clear and easy to understand. I had such an amazing experience, great customer service and I’ve made memories for life. Will definitely be booking through Red Balloon again!

I found a cheaper product online and this is the customer service online. Where’s your matching policy. Instead a chat is just ended! Well now I know why not to use Red Balloon. Wow shame on you Red-balloon.
Buy Tickets Direct & save a fortune.
Tried to book Australian Outback Spectacular with Red Balloon.
Went direct to the Outback Spectacular website to check show days and times and found the tickets were $30 cheaper each. Read the price match policy and thought all would be good, Contacted Red Balloon via Live Chat to give the opportunity to adjust abut was advised sorry because it is a "Promotion" we cannot match. What? The 2 Tickets will be $60 cheaper to buy direct and you can't do anything because it is a 'Promotion" What is your Price Match Policy for if not to match "Promotio...
Horrible experience - almost in tears
I decided to treat my husband to an experience on his birthday and have placed a booking through Red Balloon on Monday night for an experience that would take place on Sunday. Never received a confirmation from Red Balloon so decided to send them an email to follow up. Email sent on Tuesday and the automated response stated that they will get back to me within 1 business day - no response received in that timeframe. So on Wednesday afternoon I called the supplier direct who (thank goodness) gave me a piece of mind and confirmation that I can co...me in on Sunday, as per my booking. Well, I thought, that's sorted. No... In comes an email from Red Balloon on Thursday night (5 pm) stating that my booking was not registered with the provider and I have to use a voucher to rebook for another day and/or time. Since it's Thursday night already and I have no time to organise much else I went ahead and rebooked the experience for Saturday and reorganised the whole day on Sunday to still celebrate my husband's birthday well. But here is a thing - no confirmation again. I emailed Red Balloon asking for confirmation (again) and received no response(again). So I decided to email the supplier direct (and copy the red Balloon in the correspondence) to request a confirmation in writing that all is not lost and I can still come in on Saturday since I've changed all the birthday plans by now. That's when Red Balloon sends me that confirmation I've been asking for BUT.... for the SUNDAY booking time that was not able to be confirmed previously. I was almost in tears at that point.I've changed my Sunday plans now to accommodate the poor booking system and now it's Friday afternoon and I can't do much else.
Voucher restaurant not valid emails not answered
We got a voucher as a gift . The restuarant is permanently closed so we can't use it. The code to replace it with another voucher does not work. No replies from red balloon for a year

I do not think I can describe in words... the overwhelming feeling I experienced on contacting the red balloon staff this morning, re a voucher I had received from family which I could not use in time...
The caring nature of the lady I spoke to..who had all the time to hear me out... Michelle... and the company for being so kind.. if that describes the kindness shown to us...it meant so much! Especially in this climate with so much happening in our world to think we ‘mattered’... cannot describe our gratitude in words.

Dont be fooled
We have a Chandon breakfast for 2 that I tried to book . Looked at the website and the voucher shows $99 and so I booked as this voucher is two years old for the same value. So I go on the website and go to redeem the voucher which is still for the correct value and it tells me as the voucher is more than 18 months old its gone up and requests another $19. I start a webchat and I still get an person (not named ) tell me the only way to book this voucher is now to pay $19 to red balloon and then we get another confirmation and we can book. Tryin...g to explain this and book was like fighting a worthless cause.I explained that Covid was obviously a reason for not using the voucher so could it be extended or could I book something else with a later expiry date . I was simply a NO and the voucher would need to be used before the expiry date. I will never buy another Voucher from these people and I would recommend you do the same. Poor service and false advertising . I cant believe $99 is now $118 when they are still selling the voucher for $99.
They stopped Sydney Harbour Bridge Climb with no notice
I bought my boyfriend a bridge climb voucher for Xmas in 2018 under the understanding he had the 5 year's to use it. I have one email saying he had 18 months to use the experience and another that says 12 months. Now, they've stopped providing the experience and gave no notice, not even in their promotional emails. I feel very taken advantage of. We couldn't do it because of COVID last year and now we have to find something else??? Ridiculous
I received a voucher from a friend and wasn't able use this during COVID and recently tried to book this. They're now trying to charge me $10 as this falls outside of the price guarantee period, even though my voucher is for 3 years. This is an absolute joke! I received this gift and even though it's just $10, it's the principle of this. You've charged my friend for an experience as a gift for me, with a certain timeframe, but then increase the cost to the receiver. Not thinking about the customer and their experience! I won't be using them for any gifts now knowing this.
Too hard to use
I’ve booked through red balloon a few times. The first time I couldn’t get annual leave from work, my $350 voucher expired after 12 months, I emailed and it was extended by 3 month, I still couldn’t make it so I emailed again and told my voucher was no void.
I’ve now had another voucher that I couldn’t use last year due to covid, it has said it’s expired and I need to make contact. I will make contact but it should redirect me or automatically note that I’m trying to redeem something that I couldn’t redeem due to covid.
So far, my $500+ worth...
I booked to have a two night hotel stay for my family for Xmas.
As they tried to book the hotel says they do not honour this anymore.
It is still advertised.
A few frustrating phone calls followed.
We got offered our refund.
The point was actually to get what they offered not a refund.
I would never suggest this for a present again.
As they’ve got your money and you’ve to try and get booked.
They’re a big company they need to try harder....

I can't stress enough how important it is to book direct instead of booking through redballoon. It is extremely difficult to book in the specific date you want through red balloon as it involves emailing back and forth with the provider. If there is no availability, then you won't be able to transfer your voucher as it will already be 'redeemed'. Also not possible to get a refund after 14 days and this is shorter than the time needed to email back and forth with the vendor. Awful experience that could cost you $1000s. Avoid using red balloon at all costs!
Still waiting on a refund from 5 months ago
Very unimpressed with the lack of customer care. Due to covid, I swapped my mystery flight voucher for 2 seperate get aways, both of which I was unable to book within a reasonable timeframe. One getaway was refunded instantly. I contacted the hotel about the refund for my other one a week later and they told me to get in contact with Red Balloon as they never received the payment. I contacted Red Balloon about my refund. They replied a month later stating that they had refunded the money back into my red balloon account. I attempted to book ano...ther experience today with the refunded vouchers, only to find that they still hadn't refunded me. It's been over 5 months since I first emailed them about the refund and it is still nowhere to be seen
Questions & Answers
Due to COVID-19, we have not booked our overnight stay or sunset cruise that was gifted to us Christmas 2019. In the fine print it says we must book and taken it within 12 months of 24/12/2019.
Can you please explain if this is still the case due to Covid-19 ? The voucher expires 24-12-2022.

I have already received an email from Redballoon on 30/12/20. I suggest you have a look at the case number. Not only does Redballoon have poor product reviews, they also don’t follow up on their emails.
I have moved to NZ but still have a voucher with IFLY Melbourne. I tried to take the experience several times but they hadn't finished building it at the time and then Covid19 hit so it was closed. Can I get a refund on the experience I haven't been able to take and also get my remaining credit either refunded or transferred to the NZ site?

Redballoon aren't really caring about anything from here on in with the covid19 pandemic.
ill take it up with my fed mp in a week if it continues like this, as companies may be asking for a govt hand out as in tax breaks , free loans etc when they are keeping peoples monies paid and not refunding their monies, not happy with this
