Absolutely terrible. So bad I bought a flint off Amazon. I'd rather make fire like a troglodyte than use these tools of frustration. Show details

like all the other reviews here I have nothing good to say. only one in ten matches acturly ignite. all the others just send the red bit flying. what's worse is when the red bit ignites but then flys off, I mean how "UN SAFTY MATCHES " is that. I won't be buying them again, seems like a lighter is the safer option.

Well when they were made in Australia they worked, now it’s like a lucky dip and like all gambling it’s in the house’s favour. Show details

Do not buy! Absolutely useless as they will not light. The the red part just breaks up into small pieces when try to strike. Have tried various positions without any success. Not fit for purpose.

Like many other people on here these matches are not only useless but dangerous. Occasionally the head will ignite but break off and land wherever. This could cause a fire , especially if you don't know where it's landed. Consumer affairs should remove these from sale in every State and the Federal government should ban them. Show details

Matches that break and do not light- ARE CALLED USELESS – these matches break, every single strike the matches break, packets upon packets are thrown in the bin and yet to be able to light a candle. Honestly these matches use to be good quality every strike would light, now they are smaller in size, strike panel is worn (well after trying to light 1 match it would be) and they break. Waste of money… Read more

people. Do yourself a favour and not support a business that is selling inferior products. This might force them to do something - light a match!

Too safe, don’t light in cold dry environments – Utter useless these matches struggle to light when you have had a frost and they have been stored in a boot of the car. Absolute junk. Will need to go buy a lighter so I know I won’t freeze to death and cook a meal When in the outdoors Show details

ABSOLUTELY USELESS! – I wouldn’t rate them at all - only because I have to! Such a miserable product! SAMBA matches rate 10! Redheads 0. You should be ashamed to sell such a miserable product Show details

I recommend importing local brands from India or Pakistan – Rarely have enough ignition to last 5mm down the match stem. Unfortunately market domination have forced these abominations upon us, so I recommend importing local brands from India or Pakistan where the wax matches *actually light - and remain lit - for the length of the match. Will NEVER EVER buy these shitful Redhead matches ever again. Show details

A match is supposed to light – Absolute rubbish product. Rarely light. Sad thing is they used to be great. They’ve made them so safe it’s impossible to start a fire. Probably what they were aiming for. Show details

Redhead matches are no good! – The redhead match has dwindled in size so that the shank now resembles a toothpick but is sadly not as strong as a toothpick. You really need to use two matches at once now, just to get enough strength so that the shank doesn’t snap as you try to light it. Super disappointing quality - will not buy them again. Show details

RED HEAD MATCHES – The head of the matches is smaller and the striking surface is also smaller making striking matches harder. The quality has definitely gone down over the years. Show details

Dangerous product – Lit Heads fly off matches when struck. Wood on matches break on striking. Maybe 1 in 6 matches strike safely. Definitely not a Safety Match as advertised! Show details

These matches are useless – I don’t know what has happened to the old reliable matches but 60% of these don’t light and the rest struggle to stay alight. Waste of money. Did the Chinese buy you guys or something - because your matches totally suck!!

Not fit for purpose – The quality of these products has declined to a point at which they are next to useless. Most do not light, those that do go out far to easily and the striker surface erodes away after only 25% of the matches are used. God forbid you leave them outside under cover - the whole box is useless after 24 hrs. Show details

Redheads are so bad! – I just tried to light an outdoor candle with these crappy matches and it took over a dozen to get one to work, and now the striker surfaces on both sides are trashed so I can't use the rest of them. Most did not light at all, some were so thin they just broke, others barely had any striking surface. Absolute garbage. I'm looking for an alternative.

STICKS SHOULD NOT BE CALLED MATCHES - unfit for purpose – They should be called sticks! You are lucky if you get one to strike at all! If you do get one to light, it's so rare that I've dropped it in shock and it's gone out! The striker area on the box doesn't last and there is insufficient phosphorus on the match to light it most times. The heads also fall off and, if by an absolute miracle it's alight,… Read more

it's dangerous!!!! They are manufactured in Sweden so I'm going to find a different brand and Australian made if I can. Don't buy these sticks.

What has happened to redhead matches – These matches have always been my go to. I am now looking for another brand. The stricker plate does not last and the heads are half the size they used to be. It is difficult to get a match to ignite and about two thirds of the box is wasted. I brought another carton in November 2022. This batch has worked so much better and as expected lighting… Read more ·  1

each time. The heads are much bigger and I have not had any of the issues from the previous carton, a big improvement.

Redhead matches are garbage quality – I compare these with the new line of Samba matches found at Bunnings. The redhead striker plate won't last through the matches in the box and the head size is woeful. While Samba had the same problems, they appear to have taken criticism on board. These matches now have a full striker plate and the head size is twice as large as redhead. I'll never buy redheads again.  Show details

Why is everything shrinking? – The box of matches you now get don't have a Full Panel either side, just a few lines of dots. They don't last to strike the last Match. No ignition.
