Reed Graduations

What a rip-off. I purchased a digital package for over $300, which they stated included editing, only to be told afterwards that it did not. It took over 7 weeks for me to download the photos, well outside their lead time. What a way to spoil a memorable day. What makes matters worse is that they are a default service with Newcastle University, and we have no choice in the provider. They should not be in business!!

The fees charged by Reed Graduations for my graduation from the University of Canberra in March 2025 were outrageous - though their charges explain why the venue was almost empty and so few graduates attended. been lucky enough to attend four universities (Melbourne, Murdoch, ANU and UC) and this is the first time I've ever been charged for family to attend the graduation ceremony.

Completly disorganised, i preordered a plaque for my graduation and on the day they said it wasn't ready and would be posted in a few weeks. Just one big money spinner – charging exorbitant fees for so called full digital photo packages but then charges you a separate fee for the the key photos and have the audacity the say they are extras.

Money Making Exercise – A disorganised unprofessional company. Ran out of tickets for students graduating. You would think they would ensure they would calculate how many students are graduating and ensure there is a ticket for them at least. So disappointing after years of study l don’t have a ticket. Ran out of tickets way before the deadline. What a sham !! Should be a day of celebration not a money making exercise run by incompetents

Everyone working at Reed Graduation that I had interaction with has been very professional and friendly, they speak plain English and try to understand customers as much as they can. They have been very transparent with their customers. They completely respect customers' choices and dealt with customers' needs professionally.

Here is an example. I was very excited to buy a ring of my own and I liked each type of graduation rings that the company has to offer. I could not decide which ring to buy for. After I had made a choice on a ring type with full amount paid and with engravings inside the ring discussed and confirmed, I suddenly changed my mind as I preferred another type of ring. I rang ReedGraduation again to let them know my change of my mind and asked for a swap. It was my personal reasons that have brought them extra work. But they have shown NO NEGATIVITY AT ALL and sought to contact the manufacturer to check if a change would be possible. I eventually bought a ring that I like.

I feel so thankful for everyone that I have encountered at Reed Graduation and especial thanks to the ring expert who was in charge of my purchase (do not know if it is appropriate to mention her name in this public post) as she has delivered absolutely world class customer service and her great communication skills coupled with her true professional in this field makes a customer's purchase a very enjoyable one.

I highly recommend my friends and more university graduates to choose Reed Graduation.

Completely disorganised, chaotic and poor quality photographs – Attended a VU ceremony at Flemington Races. Insufficient signage ( tiny pieces of A4 paper) led to no one knowing what the stages of registration were. After registration the photo booking was a nightmare. certain point in the process and then they would lose the signal meaning they would then have to go back and ask you all over again all your details.

Perhaps an organisation who charges 100s of dollars to each student might consider bringing their own wi fi. Just so cheap and nasty.

There were no seats anywhere and my elderly mother in law nearly fainted as the entire registration process was so disorganised it took over 2 hours between registration, gown fitting, photographs and being seated in the auditorium, they charge you 42 dollars a guest ticket, however there is no numbered seating meaning that families can’t sit together, people with children aren’t seated near the aisle and many of the seats were located behind huge pillars meaning view was blocked.

The ceremony started half an hour late and the majority of people left before the end of the ceremony as it had been such a badly organised day.

When we received photos they actually sent through images which were black ( obviously the photographer had forgotten to put the flash on) and expected us to pay for them as part of the digital package which costs 295 dollars ( no prints included). They take a photo of the graduate receiving degree from chancellor but that isn’t included in the passage. They then send you an email wanting 29 dollars for the few second video clip of you receiving your award. The whole service is complete exploitation and I would strongly advise students to complain to the university about using them. I have attended three university run graduation ceremonies and every single one of them was far superior to this racket. They have no care for the students and are a complete waste of time and money. If reed Graduation Services runs your event I would seriously consider saving your money, having your testamur sent out for free and then attending a photography session at a local studio. Just hire/ purchase your gown from an academic supply shop. Even after people walked out early there was still a queue before you could leave. They don’t actually hand you your certificate on stage, just an empty canister and then you have to go and line up yet again to get your actual certificate. Complete chaos just to round off a long, arduous day .
