Registration are complete frauds. They claim on their flyer to have a trust pilot rating of 4.9! What a total lie!!! Avoid at all costs. We paid this company $177 in April to renew our business name. Our ban expires on 23 June. Following payment we heard from them. Over the following weeks we were inundated with spam and letters from other… Read more
providers, so we followed up seeking confirmation our renewal had been processed.
The company responded that “a business name cannot be renewed until the expiry date”. We checked with ASIC who advised that is a complete lie.
We contacted the company an asked for a refund. They refused stating initially that if we want our money back we should contact our bank and make a chargeback complaint. WTH!>>. So now we are out of pocket having some sham company who we do not trust to do a simple job, and we have no guarantee they actually will do the job even on the expiry day!
We have reported these clowns to ASIC and the ACCC.
I have seriously never come across such a blatantly dishonest and dodgy company.
Update based on their response: registration pty ltd's claim they offered to refund our money is a complete lie. they said we would have to make a chargeback complaint to our bank - which we have now done. had they refunded our money, as requested earlier, that would have been the end of it. but they won't because they are frauds and thieves. I'll also be reporting these clowns to the Privacy Commission for breach of the Australian Privacy Act and Principles.
As advised by Westpac we have also had to cancel our credit cards to prevent further fraudulent transactions by these unscrupulous "people".
Update on 16 June 2026 REGISTRATION have now invited me to complete an application for refund. On doing so we were asked to agree that despite cancelling the service ahead of the renewal date, we would only be entitled to an unspecified "partial refund". Again WTH. These people have not done anything other than take our money and waste our time. Why would we agree to only a partial refund! As many others have recorded this company are completely unscrupulous.
Poor excuse for a company. Your services are not needed and your mail is unsolicited. Yhese dodgy companies need to be remove there shonky attempts at getting businesses to go via them
Total scam! Reg Pty. Ltd. need to be deregistered by ASIC for trying to scam people. I received such a letter from them. Why don't ASIC take action on unethical business like this and de-register them?
Hi Vincent, we are not a scam. Our marketing… Read more

Dodgy unsolicited invoice from Registration Pty Ltd. Got a random letter in the post from Registration Pty Ltd / reg.com.au pretending it was for my company annual review. Never asked for their services, never appointed them, and my accountant already handles everything. The thing is made to look like a proper bill with my company details, a… Read more
$449 "Review Fee", card logos, QR code to pay now, early bird discount and all the rest.
It's a sneaky and misleading way to trick business owners into paying for something they don't need. If you get one, check with your accountant or ASIC directly and you can also file a complaint on the ASIC website.
My accountant/Findex flagged this tactic last year and warned that people may end up with Registration Pty Ltd appointed as their ASIC agent without realising what they are agreeing to, giving them access to sensitive company information.
Got company renewal letter from these guys. Fine print says "We are independent of ASIC. This is not a bill". Technically legal but very tricky.
⚠️ Warning: Deceptive Website Imitating ASIC Very deceptive — this site closely resembles the official ASIC (Australian Securities and Investments Commission) registration portal, which can easily mislead new business owners. Despite numerous negative reviews online, they appear to operate legally and remain active. Be cautious — always use the official ASIC website (asic.gov.au) directly. It’s cheaper, safer, and legitimate. SCAM – stay away!
Total scam, one of many, as per their own disclaimer on their b.s invoice, "Registration is a third-party business name renewal service provider. We are independent from ASIC. This is not a bill. You do not have to pay any money..." This business should not be allowed to exist as it prays on unsuspecting small business owners and provides exactly nothing in return for paying their 'registration' fee.. not even a backlink!
Written very convincingly but is a scam. No not pay them
Scammers! Send out letters in the post saying to pay company registration, all thwir business is is paying it for you, while charging you 3x the fee. Do NOT pay your company or business registration this way.
totally scam and i paid $599 and reported to bank

This company is clearly a scam, there is some strong language in the letter they post to you out of the blue. The document claims that your business *needs* to perform a Company Review, and that the "Statutory Review Fees" *need* to be paid within 2… Read more
months to receive your "Company Statement" and "Corporate Key". They also explicitly state that if you forget to perform you Company Review on time you will need to pay additional late fees to reinstate. All of this is nonsense. Down the very bottom of the bill they make it clear that none of this needs to be taken as seriously as the wording above, but I'm sure they are confident that no-one reads that part.
Follow-up · The business is called registration. They send official looking letters to trick you into paying for something you don't need. Our business has seen this nonsense before so we didn't pay anything.
Deceitful unsolicited practice. Ignore, file their letter in the circular filing cabinet.
Follow-up · The letter arrived by post, and required careful reading to determine that in fact was not a Government generated invoice, rather a third party offering to handle the paperwork at an inflated fee

Positive reviews
Business name renewal scams – I have received 3 renewal notices from different companies for different values. Registration is one of them with lowest value of $181 for 3 years. Registry Australia from Melbourne and Online Business Registration is the third one. After looking at these post I went to the ASIC website and found renewal is only $98 for 3 years. I do not understand why these scam companies are allowed to operate.
Overall experience so far is good – We just have done our color selection. Till now [Name Removed] staff are very professional and quick to respond. The process is very smooth and easy. Everything has been done in a timely manner.
Thank you Registration Pty Ltd – The renewal itself was hassle-free, and I received the necessary documentation promptly. I am grateful for their efficiency and professionalism. Thanks to them, I can continue operating my business with confidence. I highly recommend their services to anyone seeking business name renewal.
Negative reviews
If you read this, you probably are a small business owner having also received a letter that looks exactly like a government bill except IT IS NOT and you DO NOT have to pay them anything. The format and the wording used implicitly suggest that the bill relates to the “annual review fee” directly payable to ASIC as shown on the invoice statement… Read more
attached to ASIC’s company statement that your business will be issued each year - this is misleading and deceptive. How the authorities are not actively pursuing this “Registration” business that evidently acts in bad faith and bad moral is beyond comprehension.

Best SCAM invoice I've ever seen. Lucky a quick google search confirmed my suspicion. DO NOT PAY THIS INFLATED INVOICE. Just pay the normal ASIC invoice at a lower rate.
I received their fake invoice, they make it look so legit, but they pretend to be honest by placing a little box at the bottom of the page explaining their position in this scam, I don't suggest they won't pay your fees for you once you pay them, I just know they are charging you a premium to pay for your review
And if you don't believe me or they try to reply to discredit my review, as they have with other… Read more

and website presentation closely resembled official ASIC communications and created the impression that payment was compulsory and directly linked to ASIC.
Only afterwards did I discover:
the actual ASIC fee is significantly lower, ($329) this company is NOT ASIC, and I had never knowingly signed up for or authorised them to act on my behalf and charge $170 for submitting my renewal on my behalf.
I never signed any agreement, accepted a quote or appointed them as my ASIC agent.
Their phone system is also handled through an automated AI-style response system that redirects you to ticket-based communication.
** DO NOT FALL FOR THEIR PARTIAL REFUND OFFER!! Go directly to your bank and dispute the transaction, I received a full refund.
I strongly encourage all business owners to carefully check any ASIC-related invoices before making payment and to compare fees directly on the official ASIC website.
I have now reported this matter to Scamwatch, Report Cyber, ASIC and Fair trading.

I very nearly fell for this one. I emailed it to my Accountant hoping that she will catch it on Monday. Like a typical scammer they convey an element of urgency. This triggered me to look more closely and am I glad for it.
This is a scam company that's trying to make money from spamming businesses early to renew their registration with ASIC. If you call their customer service they have an AI bot on the other end so they are basically just out to skim money from businesses while providing zero value.

This company preys on new companies/businesses. They send a formal appearing invoice to your business for company registration fees with a healthy fee on top then hope to catch people out who a dumb enough to pay them (me). Extremely unethical - I dont know who would actually want to run a business that survives on catching people.
Same deal as others. It’s interesting you send mail that looks exactly like a bill and say at the bottom no money is owed and It’s not actually bill?? I think you’re preying on people who are too busy to read the finer details, which is pretty sad. Do better!!
Scammers dont use them ,we got a letter look all Legit , they are a 3rd company provided who charge 3 x the amount to review your compant registration , dont be fooled if its not from ASIC bin it !!!!!!!!!!!
This company is a scam which pretends to be a legitimate business to renew your business registration. Ironically I spoke to ASIC and what they are doing is not illegal. The renewal letters are very misleading and a lot of people would pay without researching as I nearly did.
If you receive a $495 bill from Registration. Report to Asic online at asic.gov.au and click on page misconduct and lodge. I obtained this info from asic over the phone. As a side note the asic representative didnt seem too interested.
Absolute scammers! How the regulators has not shut this mob down is a joke! They scrape public company info and then send a vague letter that looks like an invoice at company review time, hoping someone in accounts just pays, so deceitful, so slimy and so ready for karma to drop in on them!!
This organisation (reg.com.au) run by [Name Removed] is very misleading and deceptive. They scrape public ASIC business names register to find businesses approaching renewal, then mail official-looking notices before ASIC sends the real one. Dodgy guy who looks like he has a background in domaining which is basically speculation on domain names.
This company is a scam and will not refund you! They send an official looking email and make it look like they are legit you pay and then they do not provide the services saying they will register you business in a couple of months. ! you should be ashamed of yourself for misleading busy people
