Extra Star? – I praise your tomato paste (twin tub) for it's goodness and taste.. and that it is made in Australia with 99% ingredients from Australia. I would gladly give it an extra star had it been much easier to open. I am wondering if it has been tested for opening by a woman? Show details

"Not Happy Jan" – It seems that Aldi has gone back to their Made in China Remnano Tomato Paste which I stopped buying a long time ago as I found it was not as thick or flavourful as others. By chance I noticed a few months ago they had Renmano 500g jars of Australian Tomato paste. I was really pleased that they were now supporting more Aussie manufacturers and… Read more

growers. The tomato paste was much better. What happened!!!!! I am glad that I bought quite a few jars then, but when I have finished them I will go back to buying Australian Tomato paste elsewhere. Very disappointed in Aldi.

Made in China Tomato Paste - Aldi – Horrible product. This replaced their fantastic Made in Turkiye product with the made in china paste under the same Remano label. What happened to 'Good Different' more like 'Bad and the-same-as-the-big-guys', bad move Aldi. Show details

Aldi Remano Tomato Paste – The tomato paste in the new jar is so salty that it is uneatable, and I ended throwing in the bin. With a salt content of 180grams per 100g. When Cole's is only 31grams per 100g. Show details

Aldi's Remano Tomato Paste - Short Changed on Quality – I picked up a few jars of it, as the universal condiment. When I pulled a jar out of the cupboard, I noticed that it was a bit thin looking, so I turned the jar upside down, and duly noted that the contents were thin enough so the air in the space at the top, flowed up towards the base, as the tomato paste flowed down to the lid. I estimated… Read more

that it contained 30% more water, than the conventional tomato paste concentrates such as Leggos.

The carbohydrate level was 2/3 of the conventional tomato pastes, and other sources confirmed that it was only double concentrated, as opposed to triple concentrated.

It was also made in China, as opposed to made from 100% Australian ingredients, and made in Australia.

So it's a 2x concentrate, instead of the usual 3x concentrate, it's foreign grown and manufactured, and contrary to the Aldi ethos of supporting the Australian farmers, they undercut them at every opportunity, using lower quality foreign made products, for the consumer.

It is not a bad product, but watery tomato paste is poor value, and Aldi seem to mislead the consumer, in regards to the water content, as it only needs to be a little bit more watery, and they have sold you tomato sauce in a jar.
