Resmed AirFit N30i

Great idea. Bad design – While the concept is nice, the design is lacking. If you are not a 100% mouth breather, this product probably won't work for you. The part around the nose collapses your nose not allowing much air in at all. If the mask sat higher on the bridge of the nose, it may work very well. Also, the air that blew out of it, blew into my eyes making that… Read more
very difficult as well. In fact, air blew out in several directions. I gave it a valiant effort and had high hopes but it was a total waste of money for me.
Constantly falls off – I was given the standard mask. It falls off continually...and my provider kept telling me it is "one size fits all." Not correct, there is a small size frame also. "Standard" is for men. "Small" is for women. ResMed tells you to go to the provider for support (and provider gave me the support number for Phillips!) So I gave this one star because of ResMed's lack of support and lack of clarity about frame size.
Not for large heads – I purchased this mask after reading other reviews which said "The N30i frame has notching to allow the mask to expand" so no larger size for larger heads. After 3 weeks of trying to stretch it, I threw this in the bin and went back to my large dreamwear mask.
Poor quality – A good mask however my mask only lasted 10 months before it fell apart. Designed for short life so you have to purchase a new one which is a cash bonanza for Resmed.
Designed Obsolescence – I am now on my third one after 14 months. Like other reviewers a perfectly good cushion and mount just fall apart. Resmed claim wear and tear but is a manufacturing defect they refuse to acknowledge. At $85.00 each it is a nice little earner for them and something you are not told about when you but the machine.
Doesn’t live up to the claims – Would this be the perfect solution for me being a side/front/back sleeper? No, total dud. It blows cold air out every vent, like sleeping outdoors during a gale. Out the top, out the front under the nose piece. It feels lovely on, until you plug it in and start it up. Maybe it’ll come in useful as a leaf blower.
Dissapointed – The silicon came away from the body of the nasal piece within 6 months . I have been using a CPAP machine for many years now and i can never work out why Resmed stuff is so expensive here in Australia where it is made and very cheap in the US where it is exported too. Very expensive to replace like $80 AU .
Nasal cushion degrade after 5 months – Disappointed with how easily the nasal cushion degrade, as the silicon edges no longer stick to the hard plastic of the device only after 5 months of use. This been cleaned and maintained as per instruction, so I expected it to last longer. Coincidentally their warranty only covers 45 days (after warranty extension), normally warranty is 90 days, which is outrageous considering how expensive their products are.
Very individual choice – CPAP mask are highly i cividual and none is a one side fits all. After being on CPAP for 3 months I bought the n30i. It is a great mask, the best I had that far, but it be ame obvious that I was a mouth breather, so the air escaped through my mouth and snoring atarted again with a high number of events. I ended with the next one up, a Respironics… Read more
that covers the mouth and has pillows u der the nose. Events dropped from 38 per hour to 1.3 ! But looking back, if you are not sleeping with open mouth I can really recommend the n30i.
So comfortable – I have been on Cpap therapy for 3 years now and have tried quite a few nasal masks from Brevidia to Philips Dreamwear. I found the Dreamwear good but OMG the Resmed N30i has by far surpassed it. From the top connection so much more freedom to move rarely leaks and the spring system allows it to fit snugly without the need to adjust it manually.
