To top off an already desperate and horrible situation, workers from RestorX who were trusted within my house, stole valuable items from my wardrobe, including 2 items that belonged to my late son. You hear about these things happening to vulnerable people… but I never thought I’d see the day I’d be in a situation where it could or would happen to me, let alone be kicked while I’m down!

Jan- 11am - Called company to check progress of contents assessment and revisit as wanted to dispose off wet items - was informed there was a booking to reattend on the 11th between 9-11 (no one bothered to tell me ) 10th -1430 - I received a msg from someone informing me that my claim has been submitted to the insurer - not sure why as they were coming the next day to reassess 11th -1130- called company after no one turned up . Assured someone booked and will be in contact . Called company at 1300 - apparently chasing technician to attend. Called Insurance company to request new company for assessment and two very professional assessors from Steamatic turned up within three hours of first contact and completed the assessment with lots of information provided . untrustworthy Unprofessional – I have just received my items back after a house fire. If that situation wasn’t bad enough I now have damaged, broken and missing items thanks to restorX. No care was taken with my items, they were thrown in boxes and were still dirty in which I have had to clean. I have now lost a very special sentimental item thanks to this company. Extremely poor and untrustworthy – RestorX had been engaged to do repairs to our property and part of this was the storage of our furniture. 2 x (new)leather recliners and a queen mattress came back damaged beyond repair. NRMA insurance related service provided – The gentlemen who attended at the property were very polite and thorough and efficient with their review and took due care for our needs / requests. For example we requested them to wear covers over their shoes when in the house and they did so. The admin end of the service was less than desirable though. Excellent response – My wife and I (70 & 78) have been flooded before and were aghast to see water coming into our downstairs room in spite of all the work I’ve done to prevent flooding. Along with this, Melissa was often blunt and ignorant of process, and made assumptions on whether they were in our way. They were. amazing onsite staff – the process from the beginning to the end was fabulous. We dealt with a young guy who went beyond. He was caring and courteous throughout our dealings. payment to our claim very promptly and promised a response within 24-48hrs .. that was 2weeks ago, have called them two times since.. told us a builder had been appointed who would contact us same day.. another week .. called again and given the name of the builder but told to look them up and contact them directly if I want details of where claim is at.. the receptionist was indifferent and clearly not interested...
