Rexel Style

Don't try this one at home – I had this shredder and updated to a Rexel stack and shred 200x. I used it for 2+ years. Things I learnt with this shredder: - 1 page at a time; - when you press reverse it doesn't easily unlatch the paper from the claws; - twice a year, I would need to take it apart to get rid of all the paper caught in the shredder that wrapped usually… Read more
around the claws.
- once a week or fairly frequently I would be putting the unit upside down to gather the long strands that hadn't shredded properly.
Keeps jamming but no easy way to unjam – I've had this for over one year but it spent a lot of that time dismantled after I could not clean it out and restart any other way. With a neighbour's help I put it together again, despite one lost part, but it's only been working for 10 minute before stopping again. The claim that it shreds credit cards was a joke when I tested it new. At… Read more
least it cuts into thin strips when it is working, good for the compost bin, but I would not call these strips confetti.
Temperamental – I have had this shredder for over a year, and apart from the confetti-cut, it is really no better than the cheap and nasty $29 shredder I had previously. This was almost 3 times the price too! It struggles to shred the claimed 5 sheets at a time, unless it is very thin paper. You can only use it for about 2 minutes at a time and you have to let it… Read more
rest for at least 20 minutes, so it is really time-consuming to get through a pile of paper. If you use it any longer than 2 minutes it just stops and you have to leave it to rest and recover. The blades clog up badly and it is difficult to pull the clogged paper out, and don't even think about using the "reverse" to clear it, it just makes things worse! The bin is messy to clean and the machine is also hideously noisy. I haven't dared put credit cards or staples through it, I'm sure that would blow it up! Confetti-cut is secure. Gutless, keeps stopping, blades clog, very noisy, messy to clean, poor quality for the price.

I've just had to take it apart a second time to unjam it. At least it was faster this time, without… Read more
