Rezap saves our wallet and the nature! – I have used ReZap for years with alkaline batteries and it rescued a good part of them. I hope there will be soon a model that recharges lithium batteries too. THANKS ReZap, you are making possible to waste less, pollute less and save money!

Batteries last longer when slow/trickle charging – Trickle charging helps the battery last a long time and you can also use it to charge non-rechargeable batteries. Recharging non-rechargeable batteries does work.. but usually, it's not worth the effort as they don't last as long as new batteries. Recharging non-rechargeable batteries is probably worth the effort if you have some device that… Read more

draws little current and/or if you have a big battery (C or D cells).

One annoying feature in my ReZap is that the first two battery sockets recognise more batteries (are more sensitive) than the last two sockets. It's easy to start batteries in the more sensitive sockets and then move them to the less sensitive ones. However, until you work this out you may wonder why your charger isn't working... and what to do about it. Rezap says that battery sockets don't vary in sensitivity... so there's nothing they're willing to do for you.

Officially Li-ion batteries are not supported by the ReZap... although it charges them OK. Li-ion batteries can read zero volts when fully discharged so the charger often won't recognise them. However, putting Li-ion batteries in a fast charger for about 20 seconds allows the ReZap to recognise them. This is annoying as you then need two chargers to recharge a battery rather than one!

Years ago, ReZap said they were working on an upgrade to recognise Li-ion batteries, but they have never released one. Li-ion batteries are now a lot more common: Why advertise that the charger is upgradeable if you never bother to upgrade it?

The LCD on the front panel became illegible almost from new but as that didn't affect the performance of the unit that's easy to ignore. It's a pity though because the LCD gives you useful info about the charge state of the battery in each slot. The ReZap also has a fan that starts to get noisy when the ReZap is under load and as the unit ages: They should have used a better quality fan.

I've owned a ReZap pro since ~2011 and it finally failed in 2021 (10 years later) even though the power supply continues to work.

Despite those annoyances, the ReZap is my favourite charger because batteries get maximal life when you slow charge. Even Li-ion batteries last longer!

If they upgrade the ReZap to Li-ion compatibility I'd give it 5 stars.

:-) P.S. Replaced the old ReZap Pro with a new one (RBC889). LCD panel stopped working after 1 year... but the charger keeps working. Talked to the designer (Wilson Lee), who suggested the power supply might be the problem. Tried the old PSU and found the unit didn't want to work at all... but LCD started working when the newer PSU was plugged in again. Might need to invest in a third-party PSU as the LCD problem seems endemic to the PSU that comes with the ReZap?

10+ years later and still going strong! Got kids? Just get one! – I have had the original model Rezap for atleast 10 years now. I can’t recommend then enough. This has running flawlessly since I’ve had it. And I have never had non-rechargeable batteries explode as ‘they’ might have you believe. I have only had Energizer non rechargeable battery leak a little. Once you find a good brand of non-rechargeable that… Read more

work well with your unit stick with them. Some batteries will get up to 5-10 charges as far as I can tell. I also charge normal rechargeable batteries. The so called well known brands are often the worst for recharging their “non rechargeables” (The best rechargeable brand I have found are Aldi’s brand). Also now I have kids this unit has saved me many dollars and I’m also helping recycle!

A great Australian product that performs as intended – Based on my model the Rezap RBC883, I have had excellent service since 2007. I have put all types of batteries in it including, AA, AAA, C, D, 6v Lantern and even 'Sub C' batteries from my battery operated Makita drill. I even did an experiment to recharge alkaline and/or Nicad button cells by an adaptor I made. That worked too. This charger… Read more

had paid for itself before the end of the year that I bought it. Having said that, it still is in great shape electronically (clear plastic lid has a crack in it from a family member dropping something on it). Also, I have used it continually at least 2-4 times per week since 2007. I do a lot of electronic experimentation and therefore go through some batteries. This charger reduces my battery cost to less than a 5th of normal retail prices. A great Australian product that performs as intended. Great investment and well worth the money. Cheers JM.

Had a good history with mine – Have had mine for maybe five plus years maybe seven. The fact it is still working is good on its own. We have recharged hundreds of alkaline until they give up and rechargeable batteries last even longer. When you have recharged an alkaline battery ten times I think you have done pretty well. We spend a tiny proportion of what we used to on batteries.

Not a very good or dependable charger – The REZAP PRO - Model RBC889 never functioned as described. It was supposed to be a catch all charging device that could condition, restore, charge almost any type of battery (Alkaline to a limited degree and not Li-ion). The charge would take forever of any type of battery. It never gave any life back to alkalines and the charge in any of my… Read more

new Eneloops, or any other rechargeable, never lasted. The basic Eneloop charger charge lasted much longer.

Some new batteries, after being used, would not even register on the charger and could not be charged but when I popped them in another charger, no problem. The charger is a great concept but R&D needs to go back to the drawing board and come up with some better quality control. I would not recommend this particular charger, find something more dependable. The idea/concept is great! Never functioned as described, charging takes a very long time, charges don't last, some batteries don't or stop registering.

rezap battery charger – Have had one for some years seemed ok at first but one charging slot began to fail and doesn't work anymore. For me alkaline batteries once recharged don't seem to last anywhere near as long as a brandnew battery and can have a habit of leaking so not much point. Seem's to be very easy to use and versatile but have recently purchased a cheaper… Read more

unit that charges all the battery types i want to charge these day's .Won't charge alkaline batteries but that isn't a great feature for me as i don't believe those batteries last long enough once charged. Worked fine and easy to use very versatile. Didn't last long enough before failing only 3 year's and not heap's of use.

OK – I bought the ReZap from www.todae.com.au which states that the unit rechargers rechargeable batteries (...you can recharge and reuse not just costly rechargeable batteries...). So when the unit arrived I put my rechargeable batteries into it. The lights came on for a while and then went off. I tried all my rechargeable batteries with the same… Read more

outcome. So I went a bought four new rechargeable and tried them with the same result. Subsequently, I spoke to Todae and they said the ReZap DOES NOT recharge rechargeable batteries. So I bought the ReZap Pro (RBC889), which I am very happy with. Pros: It allows you to reuse non rechargeable batteries Cons: It does not recharge rechargeable batteries

Excellent – What are you waiting for? Stop throwing out all your alkalines, plus get yourself some rechargeables and start saving some $'s and the planet. Charges rechargeable batteries! Not sure what the previous review is on about!!! Does all the usual battery sizes - AA, AAA, C, D, 9v and 6v 'Dolphin torch battery'. Fully automatic operation with… Read more

safety built in - great for mum's and dad's.

Plus mine is "Made in Australia"! Unbelievable but true! Hmmm - a tough one.

Had it for years without a problem, but a manual over ride (or a revive feature) would be good for the odd battery that doesn't want to charge up.

Excellent – Apart from the minor annoyances mentioned the Rezap charger does everything very well as claimed and in less time than a lot of other chargers. I find it perfect for recharging over-night. The Rezap will charge (NiMH) batteries other chargers reject. (seemingly for no reason as the batteries were all new) The clear plastic cover - the cover on my… Read more ·  1

charger promptly broke!

The cover over the 9v lantern battery section - it keeps on falling off and the wires with clips dangle from the charger.
