The technician Jack was extremely thorough and patient whilst attending the issue with my pool heater. I'm happy to report that Jack resolved the issue (to the best extent possible. In addition, Jack's attendance was one business day from when the issue was first reported to Rheem.

Rheem replaced an older Rheen 135 gas storage with a new one, the installation was fast , appears to be well done and the unit is performing well. They also installed drainage gravel pit to meet new regulations. Show reply

A good overall experience with Rheem Gas HWS – I had a Rheem Stellar Gas HWS installed at a rental premises just under 20yrs ago. It has worked fine until now, but now it's on its way out as it has started putting out rusty water. I think that 20 yrs trouble free service is fairly good, though I note that too many others have had bad experiences once there are problems. Show reply

50l hot water system, Warranty job – Heat element broke and leaked within 1 yr, product quality seems bad, lucky thing is no 275$ labour charge for the warranty job because it broke on the 340th day not beyond 365th day Warranty hotline call is always answered and actioned fast.

like onsite EFTPOS, cash, secure online payment or billing. I asked if they can guarantee that my CR details is safe in their hands they said can’t.

Disappointed, have to find a local plumber to make the Stellar heating up again.

does not reheat as described in the product manual, nor does it function like any other heat pump hot water system we’ve encountered. It only begins reheating when the tank is almost completely depleted of usable hot water, leaving our household without sufficient hot water for daily use.

We have been unable to obtain any resolution from Rheem. Their only technician in our area was unfamiliar with how the unit operates and advised there was no fault — despite the system clearly failing to reheat as expected.

We are now more than 10 weeks into this issue. Rheem has never initiated contact with us. Whenever we follow up, customer service is either dismissive or simply tells us, “You’ll have to wait for a manager to contact you,” with no time frame provided.

In summary, we have a hot water system that does not operate as described, and no meaningful support from Rheem. Heat pump systems are no longer new to the market — it is unacceptable that the only local technician does not understand this unit, and that the manufacturer refuses to take responsibility.

We are extremely disappointed with both the product and the after-sales support. Based on our experience, I would not recommend this unit or Rheem’s customer service

service sorted. It is under warranty and now needs to be replaced but there are no units in WA so we have to wait. Dealing with this company has been incredibly frustrating and many others in my building are having the same issue. We have now had three service calls and even the technicians apologise for their company. Avoid buying Rheem if you can help it.

Our Rheem 135 l LPG water heater just died, after 28 years. Was thinking of a warranty claim but probably let that go. Original system was a Vulcan but that only lasted 9 years. So will replace it with another Rheem which will hopefully be as reliable. Show reply

 Follow-up  · We choose LPG because we live on a rural property. An LPG bottle costs about $165 and lasts us about 10 weeks doing our hot water and cooker hob. The new heater is as good if not better than the old one but is easier to light than the old one. The old heater probably lasted as long as it did as we do not have mains water. We have a combination of rain and bore water both of which are soft and clear.

I had a Rheem 80l electric HWS installed. It was much more expensive to run than the previous brand, and lasted barely five years. When I claimed on the manufacturer’s warranty, I was then told it only covered the unit itself. I had to pay delivery and installation costs, which came to almost as much having a plumber supply and install a new unit… Read more

- effectively making the warranty worthless. On top of that, it took them ten days to actually replace it.

Never again. I warn everyone I know: don’t buy a Rheem. There is a reason they have so many negative reviews.

time to install at their inflated charge for labour (to fix their own faulty product) and have been slow to provide us with authority to allow us to collect the part ourselves and have our plumber install in a more timely fashion. I cannot overstate how much we do NOT recommend Rheem. We will certainly never purchase another product from them.

I work for a plumbing supplier so I call Rheem support on a weekly basis for spare parts or warranty issues. Every time without fail I sit on hold for 5+ minutes then get transferred around because no one has the answer. I foolishly bought a rheem pronto in 2022. In the proceeding 3 years the unit has been replaced under warranty and repaired under warranty numerous times. Each time rheem is happy to make me wait days without hot water. This of course is great in winter with a very ill family member. The Rheem Pronto is a gigantic piece of garbage.

Rheem Stellar 360 hot water system installed in October 2021 developed a fault where the temperature on the 6 setting was at 80degC rather than 60degC. Booked a call out and the plumber replaced the kit burner assembly and advised that the system would stabilise at in 24hrs. This did not happen and a call to the help desk could not resolve it… Read more

and the issue was escalated with no time given for response. 96 hours later, I am still waiting for a response. What do I do. Hot water still coming out at 80degC.

They said they would come give me a quote for replacement hot water service 2.20pm said they were on their way. 3.20pm say will be there in 45mins. The thing is they don’t give an actual time eg 8am to 4.30pm. This is the year 2025. I will go elsewhere until I get better service. Why wait around when there are other companies looking for jobs

I made the mistake of engaging them to come and service my rheem water heater via a $198 service call .1/34 hrs after that service call was completed I was invoiced for a further $711 for parts and labour.I chose to challenge this cost given it was equal to $298 per hour for a plumber .… Read more

I would recommend that you do not engage rheem to service anything unless you like being ripped off.I learnt a hard lesson thinking I was using the OEM to help me out however I told the agent [Name Removed] during our last phone conversation that I would never buy another rheem appliance on which I got the standard reply “that’s your choice” .I can’t argue with that logic !! Another customer GONE! Please do your homework via product review or other forums .
