Hi. We have a Rinnai Infinity 24 (model REU-2425W-A) installed when the house was built in 2002. It works perfectly fine and is coupled with 3 controllers - a MC-33-3A in the kitchen and two MC-33-3A, one in each bathroom. We are renovating our ensuite and want to update the controllers without, if possible, replacing the entire set-up. Are the controllers MC-601Q, BC-100V-1A and MC-100V-1A compatible with our old Infinity 24 unit or will need to update that as well? Hope you can help Andrew

Hi, we are renovating bathrooms and I want to replace the 20+ year old hot water controllers. The current ones we have are MC-33-3A in the kitchen at the source, and BC-45-3A in the bathroom. What would be the modern direct replacements for these?
Hi Josh, Many thanks for your question. You can visit our website or follow this link to see our current range of controllers: external link Our current controllers are not always compatible with older model hot water units. If you can provide us with the model number starting with REU, we can check the compatibility of the controllers with you unit.

I have a Rinnai MC-502RC-1A-S wireless controller which will not increase my water temperature past 37d, and the display screen is not lit up as it used to be. I have changed the batteries, and all the indicators show up, but the display screen is dimmer when pressing the temperature button.
Hi Vinz, Thanks for your question. The controller should adjust between 37c to50c/60c, if the display dropping out that is an original wireless remote, fatigue maybe an issue or the contacts where the battery is fitted may need to be cleaned. Otherwise, it will need a complete replacement MC503RC new transceiver and remote as the MC502RC is NLA Obsolete. You can purchase a replacement MC503RC transceiver and remote from any Rinnai Stockiest, please refer to the below link to locate your nearest store:

So, I have an older Rinnai electric hot water cylinder and it has an old electronic controller for the solar assist. The controller model appears to be an AIMS AC2 Baseline, but the solar assist part stopped working around the time our roof was restored and we had Solar installed. I have managed to read some documentation that describes the operation of the controller, but I cannot see how to TEST it to identify the issue. Is there a pump override that I can set to force the pump to work? Is there a specification of the Hot Sensor to test that? Under what conditions does the Hot sensor signal to the controller to turn on the pump? What is the signal - a short/open circuit or a change in resistance? Plugging/unplugging the hot sensor activates a relay within the controller but I cannot hear/feel the pump kick-in after approx 1 minute of waiting in either case and the pipes to the roof no longer get hot like they did when the solar assist was working.... Any help welcomed.

Hi, I cant increase the temperature more than 43 degrees. The in use light is red and i dont have any leaking hot water taps.
Hi Sam S, If the in use light is on water is running through the water service which means either a hot tap is on or water is leaking which will limit temperature adjustment to 43c unless flow can be turned off.
Whilst hot water outlets are open, the set temperature may be lowered to a minimum of 37c. For safety, it cannot then be raised above 43c until all hot water taps are closed.
If the water heater is turned "Off" whilst hot water taps are open it cannot be turned back ON until all hot water taps have been closed.
We would recommend contacting us to discuss this matter further. We can be reached on 1300 555 545.

We have a Rinnai AquaMax20 continuous flow gas hot water system. We received cord and 2 x MC-91Q-2A with our unit but didn't have them connected when first installed. We have now tried to connect a universal control in the bathroom. The electrician has indicated power is reaching the controller but we are unable to get the controllers to work (we have tried both). We have tried pressing the 'on/off' button once, holding the 'on/off' button and the 'transfer' button simultaneously for 5 - 10 seconds and pressing and holding the 'on/off' button for 3 seconds as per the various instructions we received with our water heater without success. Are there additional steps required to activate the controller other than connect the wiring to the controller terminals in the water heater?
Hi Michael F We recommend calling our Technical Helpdesk on 1300 555 545 opttion 3 and they can confirm the model of the unit you have as Rinnai Australia does not manufacture the Aquamax hot water units. If it is a Rinnai product, they may be able to troubleshoot the issue,
