RobinHood Waste Disposer SE390QA

Poor quality – Had three machines over 4 years, two under warranty, All failed for the same reason. The top O ring that seals the grinding head from the motor failed (rusted) (installed back the front?) causing the bush to flog out and the rotor to jam against the stator. Can't fault the customer care for the replacements, but it wasn't very pleasant to be… Read more
without the machine working for a few weeks. I just purchased a unit from Trade Depot (NZ). It is Cheap, easy to fit (very), and about half the noise of the Robinhood!
Wasn't great but the backup and support exceeded expectations – It died outside of the warranty period but despite this the manufacturer really stepped up and put things right by supplying a new unit. A good indication of the company's dedication to customer service so a very satisfactory outcome.
Stopped grinding – Was working fine then stopped working. Done the Allen key process which found difficult to do and it wouldn’t turn eventually made it turn but now noticed it has started leaking. Should I replace?
found it good value for money – Saw the reviews which are not that good however mine lasted over 8 years so I am really happy with this brand. Only complaint was the rubber bit around the top of the disposal started disintegrating. I am going to replace with the same one and fingers crossed it will last another 8 years. Well it didnt. Definitely not made like the last one.… Read more · 1
Since i did the review i have had to replace it. Luckily i was within the 2 year warranty. Definitely not as grunty as the first one and i am having to handle this one with care. Let's see if it keeps on going.....
Yeah nah – Got this model for our house and lasted 3 years well I guess its not too bad. Just a bit dissapointed as it broke down today. We rarely used it and saw minimal action and was not expecting it to stop working after minimal usage. Just installed an insinkerator and will see how it goes.
1 year old and broken already – Does not work now after one year. Dunno what's wrong with it but not willing to pay an electrician 100 dollars an hour to find out. I'll just buy a better one from a better brand
This is a rip off – I bought one some time back. When the stopper wore out Ii was able to get a replacement. Now the baffle is gone. I went to the retailer who told me that the baffle comes as part o a kit that includes the flange adapter and all. they ordered a replacement for me. I fitted it, only to find that the flange is slightly bigger diameter than the… Read more
original and therefore the stopper is not of an use. So more dollars are to be spent to get the correct thing.
I will change to a mo user friendly appliance.
Does the job – Purchased a while ago and haven't had any problems with mine yet. It does what it needs to and was good value for money. I didn't want to fork out for something more expensive because I have other things around the house to maintain. But happy overall. Show reply
Rip-off spare parts – As a waste disposer it does the job. However, all waste disposers eventually need the rubber splash guard replaced. If you contact Robinhood they will tell you the rubber part can not be purchased on its own. It comes as part of the mounting kit (WD6215962) costing around $40NZD. Insinkerator are a much better option as they sell the rubber… Read more
part separately. I think Robinhood are scamming people if you consider the production cost of the rubber part would be a very low. Very annoying and I am not going to buy their rip-off kit - I am dumping the product and installing an Insinkerator.
