Support left me on my own – After about 2 years, with very little use, the transmitter did not work, neither as a mic nor as a transmitter with an external mic. Can not be reset or updated the software (most likely the fault) because it is not the version 2. I emailed support, I was informed that I had 2 years expanded warranty and that an RMA was going to be sent but I had to fill the warranty register on line. Could not complete it because I lost the invoice in one of 2 house moves, wrote again and have no response. I even told them that I might pay for it but...only silence. My only solution is to loose what I paid for it, near 300 AUD. Well, never again....Beware...

Finally they accepted the return and sent me a new unit.

Best thing EVER!! – I was in need of a high quality versatile microphone and purchased a RODE wireless, after great disappointment with Blue Yeti Pro. Absolute best purchase ever Sound 9.5/10, Ease of use 10/10, practicality and versatility 10/10 Some of the many features are; lightweight, fantastic sensitive microphone, rechargeable, plug and play, tiny, to mention just a few. The microphone works fantastically with my computer, camera and phone.

A fabulous piece of technology – This RØDE product is being touted as the worlds smallest compact wireless microphone system (for beltpack transmitter for a lavalier microphone) and although it is small in size it punches above its weight. This is a paired system with a Transmitter TX and the Receiver RX and is absolutely minimal in design and set-up hassles AND this is a broadcast quality system. The transmitter and receiver weigh in just over 30g and are powered by an internal lithium (Li-po) battery charged via USB-C and RØDE provide 2 of the cables for charging these little beasts. Perfect for quick no messing about setup and ease of use.

Each charge lasts up to 7 hours. That's 7 hours!!

Pairing the units takes 3 secs and units come pre-paired. The transmitter (mic) has an omni-directional built-in mic or you can choose to plug in your own mic using the 3.5mm jack on the receiver. This gives new life to your favorite cord bound microphones that have the 3.5mm TRS plug.

On the receiver there is a small screen that shows audio levels, battery levels of the transmitter and receiver as well as a representation of a 3 stage sound output setting of 0dB, -6dB and -12dB so you can tailer the sound to your camera input so it does not clip. The screen dims after a short moment to help achieve that 7 hours of use.

RØDE claim a range of 70m clear line-of site and I have been able to achieve more than this when testing out in the street but the transmitter must be in clear line of site to the receiver. It cannot be obscured by your body if you're walking away from the receiver.

Transmission is secure utilising the 2.4GHz Digital Frequency Agile System and up to 8 units can be used in a single location. The audio is crisp, clear and does not get interference from areas where there is high WIFI traffic.

RØDE have been very clever making the integrated belt clip of each the Transmitter TX and Receiver RX the same size as a camera hot (or cold) shoe. Such a simple idea so why has this not been done before? The Receiver attaches snugly into the hot shoe of my camera without fear of falling off.

Clip the transmitter to your belt and plug in a mic to give your mic collection (as long as they connect with 3.5mm TRS plug) new life. The sound is amazing from the integrated mic and when I have plugged in my lavalier mic this product still amazes me as to its' quality and brilliance. I've even turned a shotgun mic into a boom mic with this tech saving money in the long run.

This product although made of plastic is a quality unit that demands respect and care. Included in the box is the Receiver (RX), Transmitter (TX), 2xUSB-C cables for charging (and firmware upgrades if need be), 2 wind muffs for the transmitter integrated mic, a 3.5mm double-ended TRS cable for plugging in the receiver to your camera and a neoprene carry pouch. If you're looking to plug this receiver into an iphone (possibly other smart phones) you will need a 3.5mm TRS/TRRS cable (not included) however I have one from another mic and this has worked fantastically for adding a radio mic to my iPhone! The wind muffs are fiddly and seem not to clip on too securely to the mic so I'm guessing at some stage I will lose one of these. They do a great job of reducing wind noise though.

This is a quality item and minimalistic in design making it perfect for the run and gun vlogger or journalist, and better still RØDE is an Australian Company. I look forward to expanding my creative persuits with this mic set-up.
