Ryobi Toy – Ryobi R18RW3 manuf W13 Y2022. I can hold the 3" extn & prevent rotation = same with 2nd unit I tried. Supposed to be max 60Nm torque capable. Tested torque using new charged RBL50 battery, 8mm coach screw-measured 7.5mm shank & 5.6mm solid dia in threaded section. Drilled 5mm pilot hole into hardwood. Ryobi drove in screw until max torque obtained-checked breakaway torque using Warren&Brown 1/2" torque wrench, breakaway indicated 18Nm. Retested this time using torque wrench to drive screw in at 15Nm. Ryobi tool tightened screw only an extra 4mm rotation- again checked breakaway at 18Nm using torque wrench. This tool is sadly not what it proposes to be - maybe good for assembling low torque flat pack furniture, but definitely has severe limitations. Not for me :(

Purchased in at Bunnings Warehouse Retail Stores for $159.

Handy Little Tool – I always thought that this sort of tool would be no better than a regular manual ratchet, and that is true in a lot of applications. A standard 1/4" or 3/8" ratchet is quite capable of doing most things , but where this really comes into its own (believe it or not) is in tight spaces. It's counter-intuitive because you would think that it's too big to fit into tight spaces (sometimes that's true), but importantly once you are in position, it's simply a press of a button rather than having to rotate the handle to loosen / tighten nuts. This benefit is even more noticeable if you are on your back under a car or upside down in the engine bay.

Sure, it can't do big heavy stuff, but for 75% of the work that a home handyman needs it for it's a fantastic tool
