Ryobi 18V One+ Pruning Saw

Worthless piece of kit – Most times it starts off at a slow speed. Takes anything from 10 secs to a minute before suddenly achieving a speed suitable for sawing. Job takes twice as long as it should. Tried a second battery - same result. Tried a replacement unit at the store - same result. Show details
Don’t buy it – Used it once and took it back to Bunnings for a refund which they refused, instead giving me a better blade which did improve it but not to the extent that I would recommend it Show details

When you use it the blade is so dull your hand shakes more than the blade cuts. If you have bought one….throw the blade away and get a replacement… Read more
blade like Diablo. Most of these blades used in reciprocating saw fit. Take your crappy Ryobi blade to a hardware store and match it up with something of better quality. Cheers.

It's got a 'branch claw' which does hold on to the branch a bit better, but it's clumsy to use - especially one handed. One weird thing is that is has a sort of variable speed setting, I say 'sort of'… Read more
because it only kicks into high speed after a while. Not sure why it doesn't go full speed from the start, or dependent on the trigger pressure? Weird.
Overall it's a capable tool, and certainly better than standing on a ladder with a hand saw, however it's not without quirks.
