Excellent tool for a hobbyist/home owner – Great machine for what I want it for, as above, a hobbyist/homeowner. I.e. for occasional lightweight use. If you're a craftsperson using it for hours every day then you'll want something a bit more heavyweight. I've had it for 4 months and it's comfortably done everything I've asked of it, but it does have it's faults. The most annoying is the built in light: its mounted to the back of the machine on too short an arm, whatever way you adjust it a shadow is cast onto the workpiece, especially when the guide is being used. It's not an insurmountable problem, I just use a free standing lamp. Secondly I found that when I'd had the bottom cover open to change the blade and I then closed the cover, the safety contact switch wasn't engaging, again an easy fix, I just had to pinch the cover closed whilst tightening the screw, just something to be aware of.

I've also changed the blade from the factory fitted 6tpi to a 14tpi, it's a much cleaner cut and I understand that this is standard practice.

If you want a bandsaw for similar use as I put mine to then you won't go far wrong with this machine, just a couple of minor faults make it 4 star instead of 5.
