Safari Tanks Suzuki DRZ400E 17L

DISGUSTING FINISH ON EXPENSIVE SAFARI FUEL TANK – Bought a brand new 17 litre Safari tank for my 2019 Suzuki DRZ400E direct from Safari Tanks. The fuel tank was packed extremely well so it obviously left thier factory in the same condition that I received it and there was no damage to the cardboard box that it came in. When I opened the package the fuel tank was covered in scratches and the plastic was pitted all over. I spent 40+ hours sanding the tank to create a reasonable finish. I spent $470 on the item and expected a much better finish for my money. I definitely won't be buying another Safari Tank again nor will I be recommending this product to anybody else. The best thing about sanding the tank back was removing thier company logo because they do not deserve the free advertising. I considered sending it back but it is a large item and I didn't want to pay for postage, also the possibility of them replacing my tank with another tank in the same condition or even worse was a deterrent. I would probably get a better finish on the tank if I laid my bike down on a unsealed gravel road at 100km/h than the finish on the 17 litre fuel tank that I received from Safari Tanks.
