Salon Identity Preston

Got charged extra for a groupon that is supposedly worth around $500. There are numerous complaints on multiple channels. I do not recommend this salon as I also don't think the finished product was good.

As I walked in without an appointment and they were extremely busy they bent over backwards to fit me in. Extremely happy with service and products they use also was surprised how affordable it was. Thanks guys xxx

stepped in. I was conscious that there was a surcharge due to my hair length which was not bra strap length but was up to shoulder length. Upon arrival i was also aware that the cut was an extra $60. However Linda charged the full $120 for the length stating my hair was past shoulder length even though i had measured prior and it was at shoulder length. Furthermore - apparently they have 2 keratin treatments (which is not advertised on their online booking). The treatment on groupon apparently lasts only up to 3 months and cannot be washed for 24 hours - mind you, after the treatment, it leaves an awful sticky feeling and also requires the wash and straightening. However for an extra $100, one can purchase the protein treatment which lasts 6 months and can be washed immediately- none of which was mentioned on their website or on the groupon. Practically upon arrival, to get the ‘longer lasting’ treatment it would be $100+ $60 for the cut + $120 for the length = $280 extra on top of the groupon that was $99. You may as well just avoid the groupon and go direct which i believe was their intention. Has left an awful feeling post the experience.

Worth what you pay for – I just moved and was looking for a new salon and thought I would try one with a voucher. underneath were very badly blended with sharp lines. The cut was better but also rushed. The lady next to me had foils and her hair looked quite good, I just don’t think they know how to do balayage. I think I will cough up the money next time to have someone who knows what they are doing and is willing to take the time to blend the colour well. Won’t be returning.

EDIT: Charlotte and her team kindly offered to re-blend my balayage and I accepted their offer. I went back to the salon today and it was much quieter. Nat did my hair this time and the end result was much improved. I am quite happy with the service I got today and the blending of the balayage is now smoother. I would definitely recommend going at a quieter time. Thanks

always handled with care and a friendly attention! Every-time is reasonably priced and fast service.

I would say as a salon they are very respectful and welcoming, and what I love is they are not pretentious at all (unlike a lot of other salons I've experience!). I always judge a business on how they treat each other as well as how they treat the clients and these folks are such a family, it's lovely to visit and let them take care of me every 6 weeks for my foils and cut. I'm always happy with the result and highly recommend!

*First time I went was hard to find- as they are located inside a Hotel complex but you can also park in the hotel carpark for cheap so don't forget to ask them for a ticket when you leave.

Greatly recommended! – It was my first time to do balayage and I really love the result of my hair. The staff are very professional and gives good info like which colour will suits you the best and how to look after your hair after the treatment. The salon ambiance is very relaxing and clean. Greatly recommend!

The only salon i trust!!!! – I went from dark hair to the perfect blonde after only a few sessions, leaving with the same healthy hair i came in with. Would honestly not trust anyone else besides these ladies! Amazing work with so much care!

job at home. If this is the attitude they will take to long term customers, I can't imagine how much they rip off new customers. Its already an absolute joke to state surcharges apply to the first hair length worth using the treatment on.

Not a very good experience – Used the $99 groupon today only to walk out spending $245. The picture i showed looked nothing like the outcome so I asked the hairdresser to dye it back to brown. Such a waste of time and money. Never ever going back.

Makeup disaster – I gave a 1 star because I can't select anything lower. I went in with my daughter (she's only 15) We both went in for, make up to attend a wedding. the same manor, straight from the makeup box, it was applied directly to my lips, "makeup artist" didn't use a brush. It wasn't a new lipstick, looked half used. The makeup box looked dirty too, like it wasn't maintained well, make up was everywhere and it made me feel uncomfortable to see the lack of hygiene.

My daughter showed the lady a picture of what she wanted, it was very natural light makeup. By the end of it, my daughter and I looked like we had drag makeup. Definitely not even close to what we wanted.

All throughout our experience, the fellow workers kept telling me how great the makeup artist is and how good we look but with all honesty, she seems very inexperienced, she might be experienced in doing extremely heavy makeup but it was not what we wanted, it didn't compliment our skin tone or my daughters age, she's only 15 but looked over 20. I kept thinking throughout their experience that the makeup artist isn't done yet, it's going to look amazing.. but I was so very wrong.

They kept asking us where we are getting our hair done, and when I told them, they all started saying negative things about the place and laughing.

This is normal for Salon Identity, to put down other businesses, as I have gone for hair cuts in the past and they are constantly speaking negatively about other places of business. In fact when I went in for my last hair cut, Nicole looked frustrated and said where did you get your hair cut last, they didn't do a good job. I told her I got my last haircut from her and apparently she said it was amazing then. Nicole laughed it off, I found it amusing how toxic these people are.

Anyway back to the makeup disaster, when we got in the car, my daughter balled her eyes out, she was looking so forward to getting her makeup done, (she applies makeup really well herself so she has awareness of whats good on her) but it was her first experience with a actual make up artist. She ended up wiping down a lot of what was on her face (the foundation didn't even come close to her skin tone). We didn't even get our skin prepped for makeup, no primer no toner just straight to foundation. I don't even want to talk about how bad mine was but I pulled a brave face before my daughter and when she was busy getting her hair done at the other place, I tried to fix the disaster on my face. We took some selfies but never posted anything on social as the camera doesn't lie the make up was horrible, we looked bad. I'm obviously not going back there for makeup and wouldn't recommend my friends or family to either.

Salon identity – I usually come here to do my hair colour, palyage, hair cut etc. Linda and Sharolette are very friendly and describe everything and also provide advice on what suits, I always love my hair and how it looks after

Long term customer! – Started coming here using a Groupon voucher, but quickly converted to a regular. Reasonably priced and FAST, which I love. Always happy with my hair when I leave. Thanks girls.

price – I was a customer for many years within 3 visits the price l was paying tripled, I understand costs increasing but not triple and its not like 1 person works with you each stage can be 1 or more staff

was getting late for my school pick up and the hairdresser rushed to wash my hair and toned it in a hurry. After I came home I realised my hair wasn't washed well as I did have colour deposit on my scalp which was itchy. I won't be going there again as appointment times aren't adhered to and there is no respect for people's time. The price is not cheap as they always charge you extra for toner, long hair etc. The best part is their EFTPOS machine never works!

Arrived a new was disappointed, left. Satisfied – I was a little disappointed that i pitched a Groupon coupon for baleage and they refused too give me that and the was due to my hair needing to be dyed before doing. Baleage. But I left. processed my hair and the toner turned parts of my hair grey.....they were too busy and in trying to get through the customers I sat at the basin for 40mins and then when I pointed it out she arrogantly says well you wanted ash tones, it will wash out anyway..... she took no responsibility that she stuffed it, very unprofessional response

Blonde Hair Don’t Care – Been coming here for over a year now I couldn’t be happier. Went blonde today from dark brown and Sharlett did an outstanding job... I’m absolutely in-love with this place.

actually gone to a hairdresser, shown them a picture & walked out with exactly what I showed them. It was quite a spiritual experience haha. Instead of the usual 3 hrs it only took 2 hrs. Very reasonable pricing too. I've found a hairdresser for life. Thankyou Charlotte & team!

Terrible – Terrible experience, the hair colour was nothing like what i showed them and absolutely different, and when I complained they told me it will look the same in sun and natural light , which is absolutely nonsense, hairstyles was just another nail and very unprofessional, i will never go back again. Save your money and do it home i bet would look much better. I have to give one star bcz there is nothing less than that
