Tv is almost as bad as Samsung’s customer service – For a TV that was over 5,000 dollars new this Samsung 800t is such a disappointment. This tv is plagued by a dirty screen effect, grey banding and a glitchy remote. Having notified Samsung about these issues, they had a technician replace the entire rear panel only for the problems to still remain. Following up with Samsung to seek a refund or store credit I was met with evasive customer service and a long delay before being notified that “this is a known characteristic of the tv and that no refund, replacement or store credit will be issued”. I have two other Samsung TVs (q70 and t8000) and while both are lesser models the picture is so much better than the 800t which is almost unwatchable
See pictures attached relating to the terrible picture quality.
Purchased in at Harvey Norman Retail Stores - Electronics.
Best purchase I've made in along time – Great picture quality I love the remote control has been so simplified . I did have a little trouble running in powered hard drive directly but totally satisfied with the purchase
Purchased in at Samsung for $4,300.
Awesome tv – What a beautiful tv! I was told there isn’t much 8k content around but who cares, the colours really pop out at you. Very simple and easy to use, never had a smart tv like this before...I can even add apps like Apple Music. Very easy to assemble but the 75” tv is obviously heavy and you need an extra person to help you lift it. Worth the back pain lol
Purchased in at JB Hi-Fi for $5,280.
Great picture but very disappointed with my particular unit – This TV is amazing in terms of picture (well that was when I played with it in the shop). I had seen so many reviews of testers pushing it to the extremes and then saying it doesn't perform that well but most users won't notice and won't push the TV to those extremes when watching everyday content. Now having said that, I can't comment for when I got the TV home. It has now been sitting in the box for 1 week and I am unable to use it.
When I first opened it I thought OMG what the hell of a monster did I just buy. I was so eager to have it set up for Christmas until I realized:
1. Where is the power cable? 2. Where is the users manual? 3. Where are the remote controls? 4. Wait for it.. Where is the bloody stand!!!!!????
All that came in the box was the TV itself, a black bracket which is what attaches to the back of the TV to then go into the Stand which DIDN"T come in the box.
I am so angry and furious that an AUD$11,000 is missing all the standard accessories. I knew they were missing because the quick reference guide was what alluded me to the fact I need to screw everything into the stand and plug in etc...
I contacted the retailer thinking they forgot a box with all the acessories etc. but they assured me it should be in the box. The lodged a query with Samsung Australia a week ago.. and I still haven't heard anything. I followed up with Samsung and they told me to go back to the retailer.
This just made me even more mad. we are 2 weeks out of from Christmas and I can't even use my brand new 82" 8K TV
How can such an expensive TV be missing so much. And for me to keep having to follow up is absurd.
I am so annoyed!..
Be aware if you buy this TV, you may be missing parts!!!!
IMO, not acceptable from such an expensive piece of equipment.
Imagine buying a Mercedes and it didn't come with the wheels!
As of the date of this review, I am still waiting for a resolution. Looks like the big Christmas Gathering i had planned with this TV is not going to happen. I am so shocked, disgusted and appalled!
Samsung for all the trouble you have caused me and such poor service and quality control, the least you could do is take this TV back and offer me an free upgrade to the 85" Q950t!!!!
I'll see what resolution Samsung offers and will update this accordingly.
