Excellent – I Couldn't be happier with the Q9 50" Samsung Plasma. The picture is stunning with SD, HD, PS3, Blu-ray and DVD. With the 15000:1 contrast ratio, The blacks are rich and brightness is great, so much range! My boss bought the Fujitsu P50XHA58EB (double the price) and was very upset with himself when he saw what my money had got. Samsung had problems with their "Movie Plus" settings before this model (couldn't turn it off) the issue is definitely fixed here, but not a very effective feature. The DNIe however is an issue, when u set the TV to the display preset "dynamic", DNIe is activated. It looks good but when a screen appears with alot of black with some strong brightness in a local area , the TV flickers as it tries to adjust optimum contrast but it just flickers. looks like your losing power or something. This setting just needs to be turned off, you wont miss it. I definitely recommend this Plasma TV, my next TV will be the Samsung Full HD version for sure but this ones so good, thats gonna be a long time from now. Brilliant in both HD and SD. 3 HDMI inputs. Swivel stand, great for our apartment. easy access horizontal rear plug inputs. Great blacks and brightness. The DNIe (Dynamic Image Natural engine) setting has problems causing flickering. Nothing else!

Good – I love this plasma!!! I think it is the best value for money "non" full HD plasma on the market. Carl's vote is 4 thumbs up !!!! Great picture every time!!! Clear with no pixilation or image delay. Aesthetically great to look at off or on. Easy to use menu system. Contains all required inputs HDMI, PC, RCA, Component and wiselink. 1) Q9 does not sit straight on the stand. I had Samsung replace with 3 stands all with the same problem. I was told this is due to the placement of the TV tuner.

2) Detailed Digital TV schedule slow to load, text version is fine.

Excellent – Overall, this is an excellent flat panel TV for quality and value. I would argue that the extra cost of the Full High Definition 1080p version, is simply not worth the increase in picture quality. If purchasing this TV, I would recommend a Blu Ray player or at least an Upscaling DVD player with good quality HDMI lead. Great price for a name brand high definition Plasma. Great stylish design with a piano finish. Plenty of inputs including 3 HDMI inputs. Picture clarity is excellent when viewed from a distance (about 4 or 5 metres) Swivel stand is a great idea if you need to move the unit around, particularly if you are frequently swapping devices etc. Movie plus setting is useless. While it seems to give extra depth to the picture, movements are jittery and slightly seem to be in fast motion. Need to be careful that you are not seated too close to the TV otherwise, you can see small grey spots all over the picture in darker areas.
