Ok hard drive – The hard drive is ok not as fast as it should be boot time is average read write speed is average. Didn't feel like it make my PC much faster.
slow, unreliable – I bought one of these brand new, and it failed within 2 months. sent back, got a replacement, new one is OK, so far so good, its been over a year. BUT, I have a SATA HDD, and it boots up faster than this thing. Im not talking by milliseconds, by at least 2 minutes. Sure 2 mins sint much, but when you read reports of how much faster SSD's are… Read more
supposed to be, and your physical hard drive leaves the SSD for dust, you gotta start asking questions. SSD machine is i7 skylake with 12Gig Ram, SATA machine is an i5 with 8 gig....
SanDisk SSD Ultra Plus 256G – I have just bought a new Ultra Plus 256G from Shopping Express NSW 4 weeks ago. I receive the drive from Shopping Express but it was Dead On Arrival. I returned the drive and they ship a new drive for me after 2 weeks. to boot it and the filesystem change to RAW.
I called the company as they asked me to ship back for refund and change to another brand as they suspect this model seems UNRELIABLE. I do not wish to send back yet as I need to recover important Data from this SSD as I have accidentally used the old HD for other purpose.
However I need your help trying to fix the problem and recover the data.
I am using Asus laptop with Windows 7 Home Premium. I ghost from my old HD to the new SSD without problem. However after 3 days, I can not boot from the new SSD. It Shows "Repair Windows 7". I click but it just stuck there for ages without able to boot into W7 O.S.
So I unplug from my Asus laptop and plug via USB into another PC. I check from Disk Management and found the filesystem changes to RAW. If I plug into USB I can see the files are still there but I am not able to copy over to another HD. It says file not found. I downloaded Sandisk Tool Kit from Sandisk.com and tried to detect the SSD but it is not able to detect the new Drive.
I also tried to download a few tools "EaseUs Data REcovery", "Icase" & "Test Disk" from online trying to recover my data but it is not able to recover the file.
I called Sandisk support and was told the drive is dead and needs to be sent back for replacement. However I have lost confidence and never trust to buy another Sandisk SSD again. This is the first time and will be the last for me. Wasted 1 week of my previous time and still lost my important data. So frustration and disappointed with Sandisk SSD. None Dead of Arrival and the replacement failed to work after 3 days.
