This is a review of the booking system only. It is absolutely rubbish and got everything wrong. No human available to speak with to sort out.
We went there for lunch on Father's Day 6th Sept. This is the 3rd time we have been there but won't be driving that distance from Edens Landing to go there again. By the time I got my meal nearly everyone else had finished theirs. To make it… Read more
worse staff started coming around while I was still eating my meal clearing the table from those that had finished as we were told we had to vacate the table by 1pm for another booking. I hadn't finished my meal so kept eating but was clear we had to leave so I didn't get to finish my chips. I wouldn't have minded if I had of received my meal earlier so I could enjoy it and not have to rush to make way for another booking. Very disappointing this time and not worth driving over an hour and a half even though it's a lovely spot with a great view.
Follow-up · We haven't been back since Father's Day but on that day service was ok but the wait was far too long for me anyway. As a result my food was warm but not as hot as it should have been.
Stingy food portions and high prices - nice place ,nice view had family Birthday lunch was way way overpriced and smallest food portions ever , myself and wife had Half a chicken (but was not half a chicken) came with 4 tiny roast potatoes was nice but small and for my wife Burrumundi for lunch - hers was a tiny pice fish sitting on 2 slices of… Read more
potatoes -not even whole potatoes - this must be the stingist luch ever had in a Aussie pup - was a lovely day and place but food was not worth it , very expensive for what you get. we told the hotel in Feedback but they didnt really seem to worry about it ..
A beautiful hotel that serves great food, such a wonderful venue for our last dinner after staying at the caravan park..we were so well looked after by the lovely Tracey
Replace is great but the staff needs to clean the tables due to the ibis’s
Previous times when I went there the food was really good, but tonight it was very disappointing. I ordered the Sri Lankan seafood curry and didn’t enjoy it at all. Then the chocolate tart for dessert didn’t taste of chocolate. I don’t plan to eat there again.
Been staying at the Big 4 resort, visited Sandstone Point Hotel for dinner, as I believe they are affiliated to each other, attempted to get a table to only be turned away due to not booking a table, with room available, the staff at the hotel was rude and inhospitable turned us away, until we ordered a drink (luckily) a lovely lady seen our… Read more
problem and helped us with a bar menu, after these few days of visiting I believe hotel management should train their staff of the affiliation between the establishments to get it right and avoid other people having the same experience
Beautiful spot. Overpriced and un edible food. I had the Parma. Minimal Napolitano sauce, Minimal cheese, dry, small. Extremely overpriced. One of the worst I've ever had. Kitchen filled with Indian cooks. No wonder they can't get a Parma right. The aolie and the sauces had a film over them because they were kept under the heat lamp and not in a refrigerator where they should be . Disgusting food. Great spot.
Had a fish finger sandwich on Thursday lunchtime. Worst meal ever! Fish was totally dried out and hard. Couldn’t even cut it. Dill dressing on bread was overpowering. Very disappointing especially considering the cost. Never go there again. Looked far better than it tasted
Follow-up · Had a lemon lime and bitters as I was driving. Atmosphere was good as was the service. My sister had calamari which looked good. My experience was only ruined by the atrocious meal. It looked good and that was the only thing that ruined it for me.
Don’t go on Sunday’s they charge a surcharge of 10% (every Sunday!)
Lovely venue first time customer and the waitress Roz was so kind and lovely service with a smile will definitely be going back there.
Bookings not honoured – We booked what we understood to be a specific area for a 70th birthday, 4 weeks prior to function. When we arrived we were no where near where we requested to be sat. We were told ,"staff can only do their best to seat you where you request" If bookings are essential, and specific area is requested, please explain why we are not guaranteed our booking is honoured, especially when is it booked weeks in advance.
### Terrible Service and Poor Coordination - A Disastrous Wedding Experience – We recently held our wedding at this venue and were deeply disappointed by the service we received especially afterwards by the management. Here are the main issues we faced 1. **Cake Cutting Ordeal**: Despite multiple requests, including an announcement by our MC over the microphone, we were not provided with a proper knife to cut our wedding… Read more
cake. One of our guests had to hand us a butter knife, which is now a lasting and unpleasant memory immortalized in our professional video.
2. **Lack of Transparency with Bar Tab**: We have repeatedly requested an itemized receipt for our bar tab but have only received a list of drinks without prices. The venue has refused to provide the total amount, even after intervention from Fair Trading. Though they did give us a full itemised receipt for everything else such as food, decor and any other added items. The bar also stopped shots at 9:49pm and when I asked why the bar waitress shrugged her shoulders and said she had no idea why.
3. **Accommodation Booking Chaos**: When booking accommodation for our families and friends, we encountered multiple issues. We initially booked several rooms, including one for the groom and groomsmen for the night before the wedding. Despite being assured that everything was confirmed, we received calls later stating that single-night bookings were not allowed. This forced us into booking lower-standard accommodations.
4. **Honeymoon Disappointment**: There was no proper accommodation available for us as the honeymoon suite, so we were placed in a glamping tent. While we made do, it was disheartening that the venue made no effort to make the tent special, despite knowing it was for our wedding and after spending nearly $20,000.
Overall, our experience was marred by poor service and mismanagement, leaving us with many negative memories of what should have been a joyous occasion.

NOT HAPPY – I was at the rodeo on Saturday afternoon and my partner had an umbrella and got told it was not allowed in so they took it off him and I seen everybody else walk around with their umbrellas. What is it, rules for some and not for others. Not happy… Read more
with the security guard telling my partner to sit down when the show was having a break and he was stretching his legs for two seconds .Will not be going to any other shows there .( 355) security guard needs to go back and learn some manners.
Follow-up · Have not been back. When I’m not happy with something it takes me a long time to go back. So I have not got a reason to go there and plus I don’t live close
Food was disappointing – We ordered Salmon for $37 and we literally got a small piece of salmon (took 6 bites it was gone) no chips or salad! We asked the waiter as we all stared at our plate thinking where is the rest of it??!! He simply said, “That’s all it is,” then proceeded to walk off! Disbelief that’s all we were going to eat for lunch, we were starving! We also… Read more
ordered the Wagyu Beef Burger, the meat was grey and didn’t taste the best, quite dry. We use to really enjoy eating at Sandstone Point, we spent $150 on meals for the family and left still hungry. Overall the kids had a great time in the playground, plenty for them to do.
Overpriced meals served cold – We dined at the Sandstone Point Hotel on Thursday night. I am never one to complain however feel it necessary. As we were at a table with a family I had only just met I did not wish to send my meal back (didn’t want to be that person) however this would be the only time ever I really wanted to as not only was it unpleasant I was concerned it could… Read more
make me sick. I ordered the seafood curry (from the specials menu) it was served to me stone cold. Might I mention this was after waiting well over an hour to receive our meals. I cannot believe the hype over this place when they can charge ridiculous prices for such poor quality food. At the end of the night we moved to the bar area near the fire place. I did get talking and discovered our fellow guests had also all been served cold meals (mussels and ribs). The bar staff are also lazy and unpleasant. Such terrible food and overall vibe from staff. All they have going for them is their passage front view. No desire to return!
Poor security allowing standing people in obvious thoroughfares – Witnessed security moving people from dancing outside the white lines BUT was not able to stop the congregation of standing people next to the mix tent obscuring the view of the stage for hundreds….poor management given the insistence for all chairs to low to allow everyone a reasonable view
Shame shame – Attendant red hot summer concert . The set up was amazing bit the sad and very disappointing part was the abuse we witness by the security staff. They were abusive and bullying to many people at the concert. What a sad thing to witness. I was also man handled by the security . I am 5 foot 3 and 55kgs and think being handled and grabbed at by 5… Read more
staff was absolutely shameful. Shame on you security. It is against the law to grab and bully people .
Worse scones ever – Scones ordered were dry and hard. Unable to eat them. Served with cream from a spray tin, strawberry jam out of a takeaway plastic container. We were extremely disappointed as we travelled from Far North Qld to visit our sick relative on Bribie Island to take to a special morning tea. Never again
Bad 71st birthday – Food cold service baaaad staff unhelpful nothing like there advertising sad really great. Spot
Very Poor – Sandstone point Hotel This place has gone down hill. Ordered 5:20pm and 7pm and some of our table still waiting on food. We Ordered seafood platter for two for $65.00 Came our 1 piece of fish a few prawns 2 oysters, few calamari and one small bug. Chips were drowned in the salad dressing so was unedible. We paid $45.00 for cold oysters… Read more
Kirkpatrick and the sauce was horrible.
People around us on other tables all complaining also, returning meals etc The Manager care factor was zero.
If they had issues with staff they should say so. However meal servings and temperature shouldn't be a factor.
I even went to the counter and the wait staff arguing with each other as they didn't know who got what meal.
It was also cold and my sister asked for a heater and the lady said it didn't work and yet another table was seated and they got the heater???
Also the place must be bad when they turn off posting reviews on their Facebook site.
Oasis V.I.P – Well had some good experiences with V.I.P before at sandstone but this time Jesus, I never thought I would say this but the oasis VIP is the saddest old tired last place VIP I have ever ventured, absolutely not worth paying the extra for that one, a garbage bag hanging on the stairs, limited variety of alcohol at the bar, offered bottles of wine… Read more
but no coolers responsible service of alcohol is now out the window cause we have to skull the bottle before it gets hot, the placement of this caravan of a dump is the furtherest point that you can see from, nope Sandstone you tricked me I paid more than general to be sat in the [Content Removed] end of the property!! Missed out on the party pies and probably spring rolls because we had to venture away to see the bands, if I wanted to work out anything other than my arm muscles from drinking I would have joined a gym At least make it slightly cheaper than the other V.I.P areas or inform those purchasing the difference.

Overrated – Can’t believe that you have to book well in advance for an overrated restaurant. This was my first visit and my anniversary. My sons Burger pattie was small, dry and tasteless, no effort there. The pork cutlet I ordered was good and cooked perfectly, but the beetroot salad with goat’s cheese and walnuts, was a joke - a few walnuts and four tiny… Read more
blobs of cheese, was also tasteless. Vegetables were ok, but huge chunks of not Al dente carrots, they were really hard. My husbands prawns on special, were from the fridge display (served cold) were sad, tough and tasteless, definitely not cooked that day. Oysters were ok, rather small and over priced. My Pina colada was just a load of ice, not thick, nor any, or very little pineapple juice.
Some staff were definitely not happy to be serving our table that night, other staff members were very courteous at the bar.
Pokies are very mediocre, machines are not that great. Variety could be better.
Very sad as hotel has lovely scenic views and setting, could be awesome. Too much hype for us, wont be going back.
So very Disappointing – Bout 25 family members stayed at the Big4 that adjoins for a family 40th..So we met at the hotel about 4/5 times, for convenience..So many bad experiences.. Food Orders forgotten,Coffee left to go cold on bench..When a glass broken took it up to bar at the oyster shed and was given a cloth to clean up myself..GLASS.. Food is not very nice at… Read more

Great Location Food Ok – Had a couple of midday lunches at the Sandstone Point over the last 3 months with friends from Brisvegas. It is a big place in a great location. On each occasion the food was ok but a bit on the pricey side for what you get. Burgers and steak sandwiches with chips were luke warm as was the pizza. A few months back the fish and chips… Read more
were nothing spectacular as the fish although hot was on the oily side whilst the chips were luke warm, salad was quite nice. In case you're wondering we picked up the food as soon as the buzzer went so issue not at our end. A bit more coordination so everything is hot. The staff have always been friendly which is good too see.
Why go there? – I could walk there. But I never will. Drunks... Old 80's Bands.. Rodeos ,Excessive noise and Bogans. it's a NO from me.
Cancelled Event, No Refund – Booked in for the Sandstone Pt Bonfire night and the event was cancelled and rescheduled. We cannot get a refund as it is outside of 7 days since they postponed it. Averaging under 2 stars says alot for a booking agency. Shame on Sandstone Point Hotel for using them.
Great food – Great food & service on a busy Saturday for our group of 9.wait time was good considering they were under the pump, bar service was quick in the pokies bar as all the other bars were chokers
Very disappointed – On Thursday last 5/12/19 we were visited by friends from Adelaide. When the subject of "where to dine" arose, I suggested the Sandstone Point Hotel as they advertise fresh seafood, my friend enjoys fresh seafood and on the four or five occasions I have frequented this establishment, the seafood had been good. My visitors had never seen the… Read more
Sandstone Point Hotel so I was keen to make an impression on them. My friend and I have spent many years fishing together and KNOW what fresh seafood is and what is not! My guest ordered the "Bucket of prawns" served up on a plate which would have been very lucky if it tipped the scales at 300 to 400 grms for $30. When I saw he had left 5 prawns on his plate, I enquired if anything was wrong and asked if I could try one of his leftover prawns as this was most unusual for him. He was too kind to complain or make a fuss about his meal but when I tried one of his prawns, we both agreed the meal was rubbish. Whether this occurred from the Sandstone Point supplier or at Sandstone Point Hotel. the prawns had been soaked in brine (to make them last longer and keep them from going "off") and the strong taste of brine was evident. The prawns were unusually tough as well. They looked insipid! No Sandstone Point, they were NOT fresh prawns!!!!!!!
