Stick to a reputable brand – Really poor batter life, 2-3 days with 4 hours listening, on-off button intermittently does not work, radio turns on by itself. The DC charged packed in after 1 year, cannot get a replacement. Would not recommended .
Sangean DPR-67 Great Portable DAB Radio – A modern stylish DAB radio that works very well. This basic DAB radio has a very good receiver in it. Inside a double brick home with views of the mountain this radio shows full signal strength without having to extend the antenna. At another location, 95 km from the transmitter, and behind a range, this radio still has no problems (antenna… Read more
extended).
Although a mono speaker radio, the audio quality is quite good, full stereo can be enjoyed from the headphone socket, if required.
All controls are push buttons with no knobs and easy to use. A lock switch on the back stops accidental operation.
Running the radio with 4 x eneloop pro NiMh 2450 mAh batteries makes it go for a long time between recharging. Does come with a power adaptor that runs the radio without batteries or charges the rechargeable batteries, if fitted and the switch in the battery compartment is moved to the rechargeable battery position.
The exterior has a lovely colourful silicon loop cover (red or blue) with rounded corners that enhances the looks, plus protects the bottom, sides and top, doesn't cover the front or rear, so not completely fool proof or tradesman friendly.
A good personal portable listening radio.
good – This is a nice radio,it works well, but it does cut out now and then,i think that is because i live in the country.it works a lot better than other radio's i have had in the past.
Great on rechargable battery's. Good except at high volume – The original review was in May, July 2016 and I've just changed this to 4 stars.... Because, the rechargeable batteries last a long time in this radio. The batteries do need to be of the same brand and age. (I've had battery digital radios before and they are incredibly power hungry.) May 2016 This was almost good but today I realized after… Read more
owning for around 6 weeks that I am forever adjusting the volume. Not because the volume changes but because the quality of the speakers just can't handle the top volume levels and the clarity is lost. So, I have reviewed at just OK. After owning digital radios for over 5 years this is the most disappointing one. My previous and existing radios are from dick smith and are no longer manufactured - a real shame because I would re-purchase in a heartbeat - the only reason it's being replaced is because it was dropped and the display broken. This time around it was difficult to find a digital radio with all the features I wanted including re-chargeable battery for fire emergency days. This radio has that feature but not yet sure how long the batteries will last.
