Saxon Steel Mesh Garden Cart TC1840AR

Good cart once assembled – Good luck assembling this cart, if you think it feels loosely put together, you will need good quality spanners etc. and a lot of time and patient, to do all the nuts and bolts up!
So far so good – It is good value at the price. I used for carting mulch. I doubt it could hold 250 kg as specified. It is easy to assemble and lighter weight than it looks. It is reasonably high and the steering is touchy, I tipped a load of much when I turned to sharp and rolled it. I am looking forward to using it as a beach cart and for camping. Will see how it goes
UPDATE Used it loaded with towels boogie boards, sand play tools, snacks spare clothes, shade tent etc. all the usual stuff that I and wife and 2 kids struggle to carry down to the beach from the car park.
What a breeze with the cart. I thought the tyres would dig in to the soft sand , but it was pretty good, not amazing but pretty good. You could let some air out of the tyres and it would be even better but I had no problem fully inflated.
Keeps stuff Tidy and together the mesh lets the sand shake out on the way to the car after.
I have a captiva 7 and it fits in the back no problem but it is reasonably high even with the sides off. So it may not fit in a hatch back or some sedans.
I have a little hatch car with a roof rack and would be happy to tie to that roof rack to cart it around (pardon the pun)
Very pleased with the purchase!
I needed a wheel barrow and a beach cart and this does both admirably! 4.5 stars for me.
Broken mesh – Opened the packaging to discover the mesh was broken or cut in several places. Repaired some of it myself which I was not overly thrilled about. Possibly a manufacturing defect. Will not be purchasing Saxon products again.
Cart needs improving – When you think of the word SAXON you think European 'tough and strong' - unfortunately in the case of this tool it means Chinese 'weak and breakable'. The unit came in a box, it weighed 17kg and needed some easy assembly. Once assembled I found that everything felt loose and the wheels wobbled on their axles. This excessive 'play' is caused by poorly placed holes for the split pins which hold things together - the purchase of some extra washers to reduce play is advised. The front axle and steering point are likely to cause some long term issues as movement will lead to excessive wear and possible failure of the pivot post. Overall the welding is poor with large lumps of slag left behind and some poorly fitted joints. Although the cart is rated at 250kg capacity I cannot see it lasting very long if loads like that are applied and would recommend adding a sheet of marine ply as a base board. The wire sides and back rattle endlessly - can be fixed with some old coat hanger wire ! OK as a general light duty cart in a large pensioners garden.

OK so have had this cart for some time now and many joins have rusted badly even though it is stored in a shed. The side frames are now in poor shape and I think I will replace them with more marine ply. The tyres have stood up to the use of hauling small timber pots and tools reasonably well and all are still holding air. The handle was modified to fit a ride on mower as a tug along cart.
