Scholl Gel Arch Support
5 reviews
I can't live without them – So hard to find them! I want them in all my shoes. Most comfortable thing ever. Ive had this current pair for two or three years.Where do I buy more??
Doesn't provide support and cause much pain – I usually wear a pair of stiff orthotic inserts and thought this gel product would be far more comfortable. Not at all. The removable arch inserts are far too thick and hard. I am AUS size 6.5 so I bought the size S, turned out to be too small to stay in the right position. I only used them once and my foot arches were in painful after half an hour. This product doesn't work at all and at AUS $27 a pair, it is a waste of money.
Old style better – I have used a number of hard 3/4 and full scholl inserts and they have assisted with my plantar fasciitis. The gel product looks cool and colourful but does not work. I cut them to suit snugly so they don't move, this is not an issue for me. The gel displaces so actually gives no support at all. It also makes a squeaking noise as you walk which is really annoying and attracts attention. I'll be throwing them out unfortunately, just a waste of money.
Will not stay in the right position – The inserts can be trimmed down to fit your shoe size. I have big feet and was lucky enough that the inserts did not need trimming. That's the good news. The bad news is that they will not stay stationary inside the shoes no matter what the surface they are placed on (existing inner sole, bare sports shoe inners, work shoes). No matter how far I walk, how quickly or what shoes I wear I am adjusting them 4 or 5 times a day. The needed to be more rigid, instead of being made of the slightly gooey silicone material they consist of.
Absolute waste of money.
Scholl shoe inserts for heel pain – I have plantar fasciitis since late last year. I have been using Orthoheel inserts which were OK. I have noticed that Scholl are now advertising their shoe gel implant inserts for heel pain, claiming that it's like walking on air. They are considerably cheaper that the Orthoheel inserts and now I can see why. Lots of fancy colour and gel pads on the base of the inserts, but as far as I am concerned, they aren't as good as the Orthoheel products. I may be a bit harsh on this product as I have them inserted into a pair of ankle high lace up boots. But when I got home today, I couldn't wait to take the boots off. Given that these things may only have a life of about six months to a year before they compress and have to be replaced, I can only wonder if I would be better off staying with the Orthoheel product. Even better, wear the ASICS shoes recommended by my podiatrist as much as possible
