Double burner Stove top – The different between temp. # 1 and 7 is. #1 boils the food #2 burns the food from #3 and up dosnt really matter. Do not buy this product it is a waste.

Manufacturing stuff ups – Bought the ceramic cook top from Mcains, Geelong. Originally ordered a touch cook top with child safety lock and timer. Got a 4 zone Knob stove top.OK so it was $40 cheaper so we installed it. Now see we were flog off a reject. Knobs were on back to front, ceramic top has a hair line crack on one of the burners and it scratches everywhere not to mention it is difficult to clean even with the special ceramic cleaner. Never had this trouble with a previous cook top (from Aldi no less, lasted 6 years before our kitchen reno and was spotless)Tried to return it under consumer affairs rule but the retailer McCAINS GEELONG NORTH say the return has to be under the manufactures warranty (WRONG) Wont deal with McCAINS again and will never get a Ceran appliance

Ceramic top looks great but stove doesn't work – Schott Ceran looks great on my induction cook top, is easy to clean & looks great even after 3 years but I was informed by Schott that they sell the ceramic tops to other companies & they are not responsible for the actual stove components. Result: a stove that stopped working & I can't find components for it even after contacting the retail supplier (which was futile in itself); & an appliance repair service with serial & model numbers, who couldn't locate parts. Eventually needed to replace entire cook top.
