Useless on polypropylene – Works on most plastics - but so do many far cheaper products. Supposed to also work on PE and PP - totally useless at that for anything else than a basic filler. Fails under even moderate stress.

A Product Which Has Its Place – My wife bought a plastic kit for gardens worms and I broke a holding tab as I was assembling it. Undaunted, I applied superglue. No result. Next was MEK - again, no result. Then Tarzans Grip (rarely fails). No result. I was aware there were some plastics whose names start with 'poly' and so I sought a solution. Selleys said their All Plastic Fix was the answer. I followed the instructions and cleaned liberally with the felt pen and then applied the glue to one surface. Wow, what a result. After allowing 48 hours, because there was extremely little bonding surface, the tab was very secure and the worm farm has been assembled.

Don't trust Internet recommendations - doesn't work as recommended – Tried to glue a neoprene door seal to a painted car door. Stuck my fingers together and the seal to my finger a la superglue, but little else. Don't know what the 'preparation pen' does - seems to degrease the surfaces a litte.

WOW! Fixed the frame of a pair of $200 glasses! – Not sure why anyone would say this doesn't work BUT it does depend on the type of plastic AND if at first you don't succeed, try, try... Took a broken pair of plastic framed glasses to spec savers and asked if they could repair it. NO! was the answer so I said I'd try this plastic superglue because it had been successful on other repairs (e.g. vintage radios). They warned me NOT to get superglue on the lens! OK, so I'll have to repair the frame and then insert the lens. My 1st attempt failed within a week BUT then after applying the applicator over as much of the area as possible (where glue would help), making sure I filled any gap with glue and then allowing a couple of days before inserting the lens, IT WORKED! AND it worked so well that I can even flex the frame and it appears stronger than the original plastic. MY FINAL TIP - when you run out of the tube of superglue just buy another tube (save 2/3 the cost AND you get twice as much) as the applicator pen will still work many more times!

UPDATE: after 12 months it's still holding strong! Couldn't be happier! HOWEVER don't be put off by negative reviews... as it says on the packet, it doesn't work with ALL plastics - just as well because they wouldn't be able to use a plastic lid on the tube! Please READ THE PACKET "Best results for nylon items (e.g. car parts) are achieved without initial priming. CONTACT Selleys Consumer Advice if unsure of plastic type".
