buckled and corroded – They lasted one year, buckled and corroded, expensive item to have this happen. Even with the screw down clear covering on top water gets in, very disappointed with my purchase, wouldn’t recommend

Crap do not buy – Crap do not buy!! Don't waste your time or money!! If u have issues, your email is ignored (ive sent 2 now) There's no other way to contact them. Very annoyed!! The quality of the new style is atrocious. They hold water and corrode. Sent these photos to Oakent and they have ignored. These are 1-2 years old. Our last style (tall ones) were 6 years old and we had no trouble. This new style has let in nearly every highly venomous snake in our area.
Waste of money – Waste of money Would not buy from that company ever again There is no number to contact the owner about the problem waste of time waste of money.not happy with company
Poor quality lets down good concept – I have pulled apart and repaired several of these units. The wires to the vibrator motor are inflexible and come off the tiny terminals. The battery compartment is poor design and inadequate materials are used. Result is no power to the electronics. The switch becomes stuck. A bit of silicone lube may fix this. Externally the unit appears… Read more
well made but the internals are flimsy. Screws are way too small especially for the battery compartment. The solar panel and original batteries don't last. Finally - too expensive for the poor quality. I do not know whether they keep snakes away or not, but seems to be a good idea.
Works well – I've installed these now around our house for over 4 years and been through all the different models. The main issue with the latest 3 prong version is condensation . This I fixed this by a piece of tape wrapped around the "o ring" seal. 2nd thing installers should know is that its best to have them level for same reason and in MAX sunshine.… Read more
Oldest version I have still going is 3 year old "Q" version........Are they perfect...No...... but in a dangerous snake area here in Queensland we don't seem to have any sticking around. I sent two "Q" versions to friends in South Africa, 3 years ago and they are still going. I've seen snakes come around our place but they don't stay. They are deterrents and not electric fences. Better than nothing !
Finally I've had no real problem with Communication which seems to be a major complain in other reviews.
Poor quality, very expensive, unreliable – New generation with spikes worked ok for 6 months (bought 10 in 2016). After rain the seal leaked and most stopped working. Had to throw most out. One continues to work. Quality seems main issue. Concept seems good. Don’t tolerate extremes of temperature well. Solar pads lift off.
Junk – Ordered 6 early 2017 models that arrived are nothing like shown on the sentinel oakdent website. We have had the original ones that seemed to last quite well. Put questions forward to sentinel oakdent about supplying different to what we ordered. No reply at all. And no phone number. If had of realised when I ordered that they don’t even… Read more
have a contact phone number I wouldn’t have bothered.
The other problem is they don’t have paypal.
I went against my paypal only policy and got burnt.
DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT – I purchased 10 units November 2016, turned them all off in April and then two weeks ago tried to start them. they didn't work, so I replaced all the batteries with the correct solar batteries as per instructions on web site. Only one worked again. I have tried to contact the Australian manufacturer but they do not supply a phone number, they have ignored my emails. I will now try Consumer Affairs.
Waste of money – I bought 2 sentinel snake repellers in august 2017 when they arrived they looked nothing like those advertised on their site , no spike but 3 stubby (3cm) prongs in the back and green, one of them would buzz along for 24 hrs if kept in the sun for for 6 hrs the other would go into an energy saving cycle (intermittent buz) as soon as the sun went… Read more
down and was always weaker ( I live in a tent in the bush) .into the second day of the recent rain event in S.E qld they both stopped working and leaked like a sieve so I unscrews the lids to dry them out and gently wiped the grit stuck to the thin silicon gasket which stretched and is now useless ,what a poorly designed piece of junk much like oakents website which is devoid of any links for feedback or customer service, no wonder old mates are hiding behind a po box .
Failed product and zero customer support – In mid December 2015 we purchased 10 Sentinel snake repellent from Oakent. We decided to buy the so called Australian produced units because they are advertised as the original and best! They arrived without issue and we charged them up as instructed. The next day we installed them around our property in QLD. For the first day and night they… Read more
worked as advertised, however after that I found that I had to reset the units every day and then I needed to start a rotation (charge for a day then rotate the unit that has been operating for that day). It appears to be a design fault where the discharge rate is much greater than the charging rate for the units. I contacted Sentinel at both their contact addresses twice, however have not even had the courtesy of a reply. The units also have a badly designed weather seal which is difficult to align and the units suffer with condensation. I suspect that the latest version (Q) will have similar issues to the MkII and look very similar to the units that are much less ($139) compared to $530 from Oakent. My mum purchased the cheaper versions and they work very well. My recommendation is buy the ones from alternative suppliers as their customer service is much better and they have a warranty with their products.
No communication - no good - no warranty – I can't comment on the effectiveness of these because one of the two doesn't work and my attempts to get a warranty replacement are simply ignored. Obviously the quality is questionable and the promise of a 12 month warranty is an out and out lie. Save your money and look elsewhere.
Sentinel Snake Repellers - No Good – I purchased 16 of these repellents at over $50 each and within the first few months had a problem with 3 of them not vibrating and when I contacted the supplier, they replaced 3 of the spikes without any question. Following this the others began to fail and when I looked at them more closely, the wires on the eccentric motor were breaking due to… Read more
poor design.
I contacted the supplier on a number of occasions and this time was a completely different response to my concerns. In fact no response was the outcome and I advised that they needed to look at the design as it could be easily remedied but nothing. So I have 16 units that failed in less than a year and could not tell you if the keep snakes away or not as they never ran long enough and we still had brown snakes in the garden.
Stay away from this product - unreliable.
