Shintaro Weather Station

Love it – We have had one of these for 5+ years - running 24 hrs/day - with a Memory stick of photos also scrolling along. The unit suddenly stopped yesterday and we are very keen to get another one, however I can't find a supplier. Can anyone help?

Designed to fail – I purchased 2 of these units, within 3 months one of the power supplies failed. Had to buy another power supply from Jaycar as dealing with Harvey Norman re: a warranty claim wasn't worth the hassle or time. Both units worked flawlessly for approximately 2 years. One in Sydney & one in Canberra. Both units were being turned off, (at power button on unit) each night then turned back on in the morning. After 2 years both units started turning them selves back on during the night & if we tried turning them back on with the on/off button they would only intermittently work. Both failed completly after 3 years. Being a electronic hobbyist I, of cause, had a go at repairing them but upon opening the units found them to be poorly assembled & containing the cheapest & very shoddily made electronic components, so not worth attempting a repair. (the fault was multiple capacitor failure on both units)

Out side sensor – I would not buy another one these I have had nothing but trouble with the outside sensor not working it worked fine when I first bought it then it kept on dropping out they told me is was the battries or the outside unit was to far away and when I put outside unit closer it made no difference don't buy one they are cheap inports The inside unit is great watch your fav photos or liston to some music Outside sensor not working
