Quick and tasty chicken tikka – I used the spice cap to marinate the chicken beforehand rather than adding it into the pan and it resulted in very flavourful chicken. Would be lovely with a drizzle of coconut cream to balance out the acidity but still good as is for a quick and easy weeknight dinner. Show details

Really really disappointed – Was so excited for this quick and easy meal… upon first bite.. appalled! So much spice and not the good kind, just an overwhelming hit of spices that sent my taste buds into a disturbed frenzy. I for the first time in my adult life could not have more than 3 bites. My partner now refers to Silks Jalfrezi as a cursed word. Ps I’ve never reviewed anything online before.

Not Happy – Hi I bought the silks jalfrezi sauce on Tuesday and after cooking served it up and my daughter found plastic in her dish and hubby did as well when they heated it up at work

Quick easy and yummy – Korma, I added chicken, chopped cauliflower, carrots and finely sliced silverbeet, my added vegetables still left plenty of sauce for moisture, a lovely flavour for a quick and easy meal we really enjoyed it with rice. Will definitely buy again. Show details

No flavour – I felt it only has onion tomato paste with coriander powder in it. No taste of ginger garlic or garam masala or spice which is must in Rogan Josh.I had to add all these to make the sauce taste good. Next time I might as well make the onion tomato gravy instead of buying this sauce. Show details

Silks Spice Caps Simmer Sauce - What A Find! – My husband and I love curries and a friend told us about the Silks range of sauces sold at Aldi. Our friend uses the sauce without making any changes and really loves it. However, I usually grind my own spices which I supplement with fresh herbs, so I was a bit hesitant with pre-made sauces. However the Silks Korma curry is great - I've bought… Read more

a couple of other Silks sauces but haven't yet used them. The Korma recipe says to cook the chicken with the spices in the cap but I can't help myself - I make a few changes. First I cook onions and a goodly amount of garlic, and a dollop of ginger paste in a little coconut oil (mainly to enhance the flavour of the onions). I also add a few Asian vegies (whatever you like). I then stirfry the chicken with the spices in the attached cap, a little garlic (yum), then add back the vegies and the Korma simmer sauce. If the sauce is too thick for your tastes you can dilute it with some coconut milk or coconut cream, but not too much or you'll lose the delicious Korma flavour. We really love it so I sometimes make it in bigger batches and freeze some. If I do this I have to add some of my own spices to the “cap spices” provided to "zhoosh up" the flavour, but as they're listed in the ingredients, this is no bother.

Great as I love a dry curry – This is the best curry base since I mixed my own spices. All I added was fresh chillies from my garden and onion. I have been eating and dining in curry houses around the world but this is the best pre made condiment I have used. The only change I made was to fry the dry spices first along with fresh chillies then add the meat. I will be stocking up on Silk, as it so out does pataks which I enjoyed, but I now will stock my pantry with Silks.

Brilliant – Having lived overseas where genuine Indian Curries were much more readily accessible than in Australia, I have found the range of Aldi Silks Indian Spice Caps Simmer Sauces to be absolutely excellent. When I first returned to Australia, I missed the Indian restaurant's selection - but then I found Silks @ Aldi. It was just like being back home (overseas) again.

Very tasty – Very good spices and quality product. I buy only this spices and they are always good for my cooking. There is a lot in the bottle and its very good.

Tika masala – Looked good. Thought we would try it, lacked flavour and spice, and no heat in the curry what so ever. Very disappointing and would not try any of the other flavours based on the quality of this one.
