I have used the car for work doing sales calls etc. as well as commuting and personal use around Melbourne and regular trips to Bendigo, also several road trips to Adelaide, Brisbane and Northern NSW, after driving 1100 KM in a day I still felt fine no aches at all. Now retired and living in Bendigo we still do weekly trips to Melbourne and road trips so it is well used.
I have the car serviced at Deer Park Skoda, where I purchased it, they have been a pleasure to deal with, a very helpful team. I bought it with a 4 year service pack and have just bought a new 4 year service pack, this gives some peace of mind, as does the 7 year warranty and the included roadside assist. I have had no warranty claims, just routine maintenance, I have only had to pay for the usual, brakes, wiper blades and tyres.
If you are looking for a car and like me don't want an SUV, the Skoda might be the car for you, I would definitely recommend Skoda

sell in greater numbers. The diesel engine, while not particularly powerful, gave smooth and torquey performance combined with incredible fuel economy. Around town in traffic it averaged around 7L/100km and on the highway saw as low as 4.1L/100km - truly exceptional given the size of the car. Acceleration was perhaps the only weakness, although it was perfectly adequate for 99% of day to day driving. The V6 alternative I drove was very punchy but I prefer to trade some of the speed for diesel efficiency. Interior was well built and luxurious, with stunning cream leather and (probably fake) wood giving a classy ambience on par with Germans of the same age. Leg room is a known Superb strength and I am yet to find a normal sized car that can rival it in this regard. Head and shoulder room in the rear could be a bit tight for passengers over 195cm. Load capacity is cavernous. Little touches like a removable LED torch that doubles as the luggage compartment light, ice scraper and umbrella in the door are practical touches absent in competitors. The Superb gave flawless reliability during the time we owned it and servicing through an independent Euro specialist was very reasonable. For a large car it handled remarkably well, with excellent grip in all conditions and very strong brakes. Even as a 12 year old car it was difficult to find a replacement new car as well featured for reasonable money, with the exception of some safety tech (the older Skoda did not have AEB, adaptive cruise or cameras). It did, however, have automated parking that is still absent on most new vehicles. The 2012 Superb is the best all-rounder I have driven. My only disappointment is that Škoda no longer sell a diesel powered Superb, otherwise there would be another in the driveway.

For the price, you're getting a more focused model that rivals other four-cylinder German sedans, many of which beg you to add extra options to raise the price further.
The main appeal is that all-wheel drive system, which makes the Superb an all weather beast, aligning it with the Audi A4 and Audi A5 over the BMW 3 Series and Mercedes C Class.
The Skoda Superb gets a 5 year/unlimited kilometre warranty. Service intervals are every 12 months or every 15,000km, whichever comes first.
You can get a 7 year warranty, but you’ll have to purchase the 7 year servicing package to get that, which will set you back $2,700.
If you just want to prepay 5 years of servicing, that’ll cost you $2,000.
The sound system in the Superb was excellent, considering this is a sedan. It allows for greater sound isolation and helps enhance the surround sound experience.
There’s a little burble and sound that’ll emanate from the twin exhausts of the Superb in Sport mode too!
I was shocked at how capable the Skoda Superb could pull up. This thing looks like it’d be heavy and slow to respond, but it’s quite the opposite.
The Superb had a grabby set of brakes on board, allowing it to be driven in an enthusiastic manner on some back roads. Autonomous emergency braking also helps too in case of an emergency.
The Superb Sportline is powered by a 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder petrol motor, producing 206kW (276hp) and 350Nm.
That’s good for a claimed 0-100km/h time of just 6 seconds! Don’t forget this is also all-wheel drive, meaning it’s quick off the line.
You can activate launch control in Sport mode, with the ESC in Sport too. Taking off from a set of lights feels so effortless, thanks to a quick-to-spool turbocharger and plenty of power.
It might look a little old school to still be rocking a 6-speed transmission in 2023, but the Superb really makes this particular gearbox work.
The gearbox is smooth in its shifts and attentive to your driving inputs. It rarely misses a beat and always seems to be in the best possible gear, depending on your drive mode.
The way the Superb could transform its ride from lounge chair to sports saloon was the most outstanding feature here.
There are a few drive modes available, but the most noticeable were Comfort and Sport. Comfort is represented by a little cloud symbol on the dashboard, and that’s eerily accurate.
Floating over the road, the suspension simply allowed the car to glide across the tarmac. That sounds a little dramatic, but it's seriously that comfortable.
Sport mode is another favourite as it gives you the complete opposite experience, tightening up the car for more driving fun and increasing road feel.
The claimed fuel consumption is 8.0L per 100km, and I saw figures between 9-11L per 100km during my drive. Higher fuel consumption is the price to pay for the performance gains here.
I really loved the simplicity and minimalism of this cabin. There’s a digital driver display and relatively big centre touch screen, but these screens don’t consume the Skoda’s interior. The fake carbon fibre trim was a little cheap looking against the nicer materials like the suede, leather and stitching.
Attention to detail is the headlining feature to this interior. I loved the details around the digital cockpit and the clever storage compartments.
My only complaint is the placement of the start/stop button. It literally covers the hole where you’d put a physical key, which feels like the laziest application for this button.
This isn’t your traditional sedan; it’s a liftback, meaning it has a hatchback-type boot which opens up to reveal 625L of boot space, and a total of 1760L with all the seats folded.
I wouldn't want to cut off someone driving a Skoda Superb, seeing as this boot would be something the mob would be able to take advantage of.
The seats fold in a 60/40 split, but a ski-passthrough allows you to place longer items through to the second row without folding any seats.
In addition, there are some velcro cargo dividers that can help secure small items prone to rolling around in that cavernous storage space.
Comfort in the second row is superb; I had more than enough room to spend hours in the back without complaint. However, that middle seat can feel a little tight.
If the thought of buying another SUV makes you ill, you need to look at the Skoda Superb. There’s enough storage available that you won’t have to compromise on anything other than ride height.
It’s comfortable, it’s fast, and it’s a great way to commute. I felt important driving the Skoda Superb, and feel like it’d make a great alternative to any German performance sedan you might be eyeing off on the used market.
Plus, it’s a little more thrilling than the base model offerings from brands like BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Audi.

with the drivers seat nearly all the way back (I’m 6’2”) the back seat had more space & legroom than my Fairlane. One test drive, and it was that good, I’m in negotiating a deal. To be honest I was a little worried - a Skoda! I didn’t know much about them and they hadn’t been around long out here but English & European reviews all seemed to be positive. I’ve now been driving my Skoda Superb Scout for 12 months and can honestly say it’s the best car I’ve ever owned and if I needed a new vehicle today I wouldn’t hesitate and I’d buy the same car again. The interior room and comfort is amazing. Huge amount of luggage and storage space as well but it doesn’t seem that big on the outside. It drives beautifully, handles brilliantly, is extremely comfortable, has plenty of power and acceleration yet is economical, comes fully loaded with the tech, has all the safety features and looks fantastic particularly in the silver. I have not had a single problem or concern with my Skoda. It handles everything from a quick trip up the shops, a weekend away and interstate holidays with ease. You can cruise on a motorway in complete comfort or stiffen up the suspension by slipping into sports mode and really enjoy the drive on a windy country road. The only thing I thought my Skoda lacked was a Heads-up Display but it’s not at all needed with the layout of the dash and the virtual cockpit display. I’ve just had the cars first scheduled service and the dealership, Sydney City Skoda, were fantastic and matched the level of Excellence my car has set.

I did a lot of homework looking at several brands (Audi, BMW, Mercedes, Lexus) and by complete accident we came across the Skoda Superb and after test driving this vehicle and doing a bit more research I was negotiating a deal with the dealer. I purchased the Superb Style hatch with the optional Prestige pack and sunroof. Value for money this has got to be the best car on the Australian market. I also purchased the 7 year pre paid servicing which came with 7 year factory warranty and 7 year roadside assist for an additional $2,700. (Great Value) This car appears like a medium car on the outside but has an abundance of room inside. (Simply clever). I had the good fortune to drive many different company owned vehicles prior to my retirement, & that experience enabled me to quickly appreciate the Skoda once I had test driven it! glovebox began to randomly open. Due to covid lockdowns I had to wait until December to take the car back. They checked for errors and didn't find any, however, they didn't check the log kept in the car's computer. In regards to the glovebox, they reported they couldn't find anything wrong with it but told me to keep an eye on it and let them know if it kept opening. Both problems continued. The error codes kept popping up more frequently and new ones started showing. Additionally, I returned to my car one day and found the glovebox open but this time it wouldn't remain closed. At this point enough was enough so I returned my car to the dealership. This time they said it was up to Skoda to issue a recall for the electronic issues, and they now claimed that the locking pins on the glovebox were bent from being forced closed. It was blatantly obvious they didn't care! I took my car to an independent Skoda specialist who looked at the glovebox and agreed that the pins were fine and determined the internal spring is faulty. He also provided me with a report verifying this, and photos of the pins against a straight edge were taken to prove it. I also contacted the motoring website carsguide.com.au regarding the glovebox and they responded saying it's an issue that's been reported by many other Skoda Superb owners. This means it's obviously a manufacturing issue, as well as a safety issue (their reply is online on their website). I contacted Skoda Australia customer service and provided all this information but received no absolutely no response other than an automated email confirming receipt of my email. I tried contacting them twice more but again they never replied or made any attempt to contact me. Since then, I've noticed the finish on the plastic trim has begun flaking off, and the car is only 18 months old. Also, the disabled ticket holder is broken and doesn't hold the permit, but the dealership refused to repair it. I've now commenced legal action against Skoda to have them repair my vehicle. Once repaired, I'll be selling it as fast as possible in order to buy another make, anything that isn't part of the VAG motor group. This entire experience should serve as a warning to others. They're happy to sell you the car, but when things go wrong, even when under warranty, you're on your own. And to reinforce my point, all you need to do is read all the similar experiences posted by other Skoda owners on this website and other forums.
Edit 2023 A quick update on the outcome of the legal action. The day prior to Skoda needing to submit their formal response to the impending legal action, I was contacted by Emma from VAG customer service saying they wanted to resolve this and it was best and quickest to not go through the courts. I provided all the information and i was referred to another dealership for an another assessment. They tried to deny the flaking trim was a manufacturing issue but agreed to replace it once I provided them with further evidence it was. However, the job to replace the exterior trim was a total farce. I had to wait months for the trims to arrive, three times the wrong part was sent, and the fitment was unacceptable. The car had been sent to a panel shop to have them fitted, and it looked like they'd given the task to a work experience kid. There was glue over the panels, they didn't stick properly and they had dripped some kind of solvent on the trim they had just replaced which damaged it again. All this was eventually rectified, but it just added to the sour experience from dealing with Skoda.

experience with her car. Her Skoda Octavia also had problems with the car suddenly stopping due to the mechatronics. Her vehicle required the mechatronic unit to be replaced not once, but twice in the space of a year, once under recall, then again a year after. I am not sure what’s going on, I am not impressed with the quality of my vehicle and I feel very upset and disappointed with my experience.

Wheels and tyres – My 2014 Superb Outdoor came with 225/40r18 wheels and tyres. The ride on Australian coarse chip roads was extremely loud and harsh. a joy to drive, massive boot and limo like space in the back, it really should be considered if you’re looking for a sporty wagon that’s still practical. It always gets comments from people and it’s surprising how many people haven’t heard much of Skoda or they thought it was a “cheap” Volkswagen, but it’s definitely not! Only negative (being very picky) is it generates plenty of brake dust so wheels don’t stay clean for too long after a wash, but being a car detailer I think this Would annoy me more Then most other people.

but looking at the basics brakes suspension ect there not very expensive mpg i average in the mid 40s on a longer run i have achived 55 mpg which i think for such a big car is very good only down side is the interior seats are ok but as its vw based its very bland same as bmw,s and audi realy mercedes make a better interior than all german cars but its functional and every thing is screwed together properley its not made of cheal plastic like french or japanese cars i used to own an old skoda with the engine in the back that was a bad car lol but todays versions are a class act and i wouldent hesitate to buy another
Excellent car with one flaw (depending on where you are coming from) – If you like Volkswagen Passats, then Skoda Superb is a smarter choice. The same parts, same chassis with a different badge, some cleaver design for much less money. This means you can kit out the Superb to a much higher level for the same money as a Passat. than the Passat, it seems that WV has been skimping on noise-control in the cabins lately (meaning dampening of the sheet metal, foam, padding, thinner glass etc where it can soak up road noise on coarse chip Australian roads). More road noise and vibration than you would expect (even with DCC). I think this has to do with weight reduction initiatives to improve fuel economy.
NVH is made worse by the rush by manufacturers to fit 18-19" tyres on these things. They really should stick with 16-17" for Australian roads. All this is relative of course, depending on what you have been driving and expectations. I recently hired a 2019 Holden Commodore with the same tyres 235/45R18 and it was significantly worse than the Superb for NVH on coarse chip roads. However, as a daily drive, I came from an older generation Passat, that was simply a league above the modern counterparts in terms of NVH.
The TLDR here, is don't expect European luxury car levels of NVH here. On the other hand, ride comfort and chassis control on the Superb is definitely a significant step up. DCC is awesome.
Anyhow, make no mistake, I am nit-picking here, it's a great car. Just when everything else is almost perfect you start looking at details more closely. Definitely worth putting on your short list for a test-drive one to see if it's for you. If you do, make sure to drive it on some coarse-chip roads at 110 km/hr.

Fantastic car until you need service under warranty – 10/October/2018 - In August 2018 I bought my mother's Skoda Superb 2015 that had only 6800km in the odometer. The car had spent most of the time parked in the garage. On 1st of October I pulled the handbrake and it did not work. I took the car to Eastside Skoda at Melbourne which assessed the car and promised to come back to me. On the 9th… Read more
of October Skoda responded the bolt that was missing in the handbrake could not be replaced and the whole system would need to be replaced. The parts would arrive on the 17th of October. When asked about the warranty I got the following response:
"The handbrake bolt is not something that works itself loose over time; and it is an item checked at each service. Warranty has stated that the only way this could have happened, especially so far into the ownership of the vehicle, is an incorrect adjustment of the handbrake at a previous service causing the bolt to fall off and go missing. This would mean external influence is the cause of this concern, and that it is not a warrantable manufacturing defect."
Clearly Skoda assumed my mother had taken the car to be serviced at a non-authorised service centre. I replied to Skoda saying that the car had only been serviced at Lennock Skoda Canberra and requested them to confirm it.
Skoda confirmed the last and only service done in the car happened on February 2018 at Lennock Skoda. So the second response to suggest it was not going to be covered by the warranty:
"In regards to your servicing schedule set by the manufacturer, it is every 1 year or every 15,000 : whichever comes first."
My response to that was:
"In regards to the servicing schedule not being followed every year, I would agree it could have caused issues with parts or products that get old and expire (e.g. Oil) or need to be changed due to excessive usage. A bolt in a car that has 8.686km in the odometer (the current value) does not fall into these categories. Besides it, the car was serviced at Lennock this year and this bolt was not faulty or was not checked."
I have also added that the car used to belong to my mother so she would not have taken it to a non authorised service and hide it from me. The representative at Eastside Skoda in Melbourne said that he/she would attempt to request a review of the case out of goodwill for which I am still waiting for a response. He/she has also requested a courtesy car as I have a car under warranty that cannot be driven due to a flawed security item.
Loads of boot space – We bought this as out family car as we go on loads of camping trips and needed extra room in the boot to stash all the camp gear and tents. It holds a lot more than that even when mostly full and has been fantastic on kind road drips with the kids Show details

profile tyres accentuate every bump and pothole and while dry weather handling was excellent and motorway driving was good the positives were far out weighed by the negatives of the harsh "real road" experience. To add insult to injury the Continentals wore out rapidly. I have replaced the wheels and tyres with 205x55/R16s and this has transformed the ride of the car for the better to a degree I can hardly believe and it now soaks up bumps and potholes very well. This begs the question as to why car makers go to the trouble of engineering a really good car and then equip it with patently inappropriate wheels and tyres. Anyway I am at last a happy Skoda owner.

all the other bells and whistles, including heated leather seats, etc. It also parks itself though I've not tried it out yet. Seriously, when I'm parked at lights next to the BMW, Merc and Audi drivers, or those in their big gas-guzzling 4WDs, it actually makes me smile to think how little I paid for a car with so much going for it, compared to what they would have paid. Seriously it is a superb car (excuse the pun) and if you can be 'big enough' to not be a badge snob and actually try one, you'll be highly impressed.I can't see myself ever parting with it.
The Best – Fantastic fuel economy on diesel. Very comfortable long distance tourer. Have done over 200,000 and not one repair. I also really like the DSG transmission. Awesome – Optioned with the tech and comfort packs and 165KW turbo motor - The drive and build of this car are fantastic and there's almost nothing it misses out on. you're stopping, which sometimes causes some annoyance when it shuts down unexpectedly - this can be turned off though so it's not a huge problem. Also, the 'comfort' mode is very bouncy and I don't like that, but with the electronic dampers, they can just be locked into sport mode through the entertainment system and then it handles really nicely.
We looked at a lot of cars before this, and there was just no comparison in the end. This outperforms everything in the same price bracket in handling, power, looks and tech. Highly recommended.

open roads it sips at less than 7.8l/100km. I love the leather heated seats in winter. Love the dual climate control. Love the acceleration and braking. The standard fixtures for retaining loads are very clever; from a bottle of wine to a lawn mower, all solidly fixed so they cannot move. In the country the Bi-Xenon adaptive lights are like daylight and the adaptive part is amazing as they adjust the beam according to your speed. Not one issue with it apart from the usual irritating Can-Bus issues I have had in cars costing six times the Skoda; these are intermittent things like auto lights not turning off within 10 seconds or the auto windscreen wipers being a bit slow to respond to drizzle. The only downside I can vaguely report is it seems a bit heavy on tyre wear BUT it is a heavy car. More air-bags than any equivalent car of its year, including Mercedes Benz and BMW. Bigger brakes than any equivalent car (including the Mercedes E class and BMW 5 Series) and more luggage space and rear leg room than the equivalent E class.

The actual performance spec on the petrol 1.8L turbo belies the mid range punch available from just 1500 rpm, and fuel economy is amazing for such a spacious and large vehicle. Seats are simply the best ever experienced, by a long shot. is definitely the boot - being able to open the boot lid to two different size openings - normal and coupe like is very helpful transporting larger items. Overall good fuel economy, super comforty, spacious, slick looking and drives well.
We loved our superb so much we purchased an Octavia as well – I could go into so much detail about how amazing Skoda is but I would only be repeating what others have already said. We loved our Suberb Elegance sedan TDI so much that we needed two cars so I bought myself an Octavia Elegance TSI wagon. We have already had 4 years of perfect motoring from both cars. Buy one!! 6.4/100 km but more impressive is that in a short run down a freeway (50km) and the economy usually falls to low 5s. In a trip to WA from Melbourne I achieved as low as 4.1 and the onboard trip computer estimated I would get 1,450km from the 60 litre tank.
Ownership Reliability
In over 5 1/2 years of ownership we have not spent one cent on anything other than servicing. No blown globes, fuses or malfunctions of any description. Have travelled just over 72,000km and we are still on the original brake pads and rotors. The servicing is done at Volkstech in Heidelberg West in Victoria, and they estimate it should get 100,000km before brakes need to be looked at. That is so much better then most other cars going around today.
I service it every 10,000km and no noticeable oil consumption. The original tyres (Pirelli) were discarded at around 38,000km not because they were worn out but they were getting noisy. Replaced them with Yokohama C drive which have now done 34,000km and I estimate they should get another 30,000km. These are on the 17" rims.
Durability
These cars are well built and anybody who rides in it comments on the quality. Everything works as it should and the car looks just as good today, both inside and out, as it did when new.
Features
The HID lights are just brilliant and the fact they follow your steering direction is also great.
The heated front and rear seats - superb on really cold mornings in Vic.
The integrated Bluetooth telephone connectivity,
The space inside this not so massively large car is incredible,
The road dynamics, especially on open country roads and through twisty roads.
All the wizardry of rain sensing wipers and auto closing of sunroof or opened windows if left parked and it detects rain. Works a treat.
Our car has solar sunroof which on sunny days operates the fan and keeps interior from getting really hot - cool,
The twin lid boot has already been mentioned and is fantastic,
The self parking is no gimmick - car will park perfectly every time and not scrape your alloys,

We like the Skoda that much we just bought another.
A 2014 Skoda Superb Outdoor 125kw Auto 4x4 wagon MY15.
This is basically the same as our first one with some minor improvements.
I was going to get a new Octavian RS wagon but after driving this Outdoor I loved it. What a seriously good car these are.
Only had it since 30 June and only clocked up 900kms so far but it really fantastic.
I will keep updates on new one.
Honest review – 2011 Skoda Ambition superb wagon 118 TSI. Car drives well, very spacious and comfortable. Leather trim is a plus. Take off from a stationed position could be improved, burns oil a little so check regularly. Beats the mazda 6 wagon hands down for drive quality and is a lot more cost effective. Show details
