the basic device, such as Amazon Australia. Taking product and freight charges into consideration together, it made sense to buy the device and the desired accessory from Smart Wellness.

I placed the order on a Tuesday night; they dispatched it the following day; and I received it by courier at my Canberra home early Thursday afternoon. That's great service, and worthy of a five-star rating.

Unfortunately, like some other online businesses, Smart Wellness can't behave like grown-ups with your email address. A few days later, I received an email from Trustpilot inviting me to review my experience with Smart Wellness. If I submitted a review, Trustpilot promised to create a Trustpilot account for me. Well, whoopee-doo! I sent comment to Smart Wellness through a feedback page on their website to the effect that I didn't appreciate them handing over my email address to an outfit that had nothing to do with my purchase, and received an automated reply – not from Smart Wellness, but from Trustpilot!

A few days after that, I received a general advertising spam email from Smart Wellness, which, as someone who prosecutes spam whenever possible, I have reported to ACMA.

I usually deduct two stars for such spamming offences. However, for the double-spamming offence (advertising plus Trustpilot) that I experienced from Smart Wellness, I am deducting three stars on this occasion.

Fortunately, my email provider enables me to create alias email addresses for my account, and I had given Smart Wellness a disposable alias email address for this purchase, and I have since deleted that alias address. Goodbye, Smart Wellness and Trustpilot! I guess I won't be hearing from you again.

In summary, Smart Wellness gave a great delivery experience, but a poor spamming experience. If it is convenient for you to buy from Smart Wellness, I would say go ahead, but make sure that you GIVE THEM A DISPOSABLE EMAIL ADDRESS that you are prepared to toss after your purchase is complete.
