I bought my SMEG Red 50's style electric kettle and convinced my husband it would last a long time and be worth the money. Unfortunately, it started leaking from the spout just after the warranty expired. I have sent a message to SMEG - No reply. I am very disappointed in this product.t I also have the 4-slice toaster - it's OK, not great. But the… Read more

kettle is very disappointing, as is getting in contact with SMEG. It's not worth the money. As it turns out, it cost us $150.00 for each year we had it. I did not keep the proof of purchase, as we did not think we needed to.

I am extremely disappointed with the service I have received from Smeg regarding the repair of my Smeg dishwasher (DWA62148). What should have been a straightforward repair turned into a frustrating and stressful experience due to poor communication, lack of transparency, and an apparent disregard for customers' time. When the technician first… Read more

attended, he identified a burnt component that required replacement. However, he failed to tell us that the replacement part needed to be sourced from China and would take several weeks to arrive. Instead, he simply advised that he would return the following week to complete the repair. It was only after we contacted customer service ourselves that we were informed the part would take 6 weeks to arrive. After multiple follow-up calls and constant chasing from our side, we were finally told, nearly 5 weeks later, that the order had been expedited and the repair could proceed. When the technician returned, we were then informed that the dishwasher would need to be taken to a service centre for the repair and that it would be reinstalled the following week.

On the scheduled installation day, we rearranged our work commitments, cancelled meetings, and ensured someone was home to receive the technician. Instead, we received a text message from another technician stating that he did not have the dishwasher and therefore could not come in for the installation. When we contacted customer service, the response was simply that no one was available to install it for another 10 days.

Throughout this entire process, communication has been very poor, inconsistent, and misleading. Customer service representatives were blunt, unhelpful, and showed little empathy for the inconvenience caused. At no point did we feel that anyone was taking ownership of the issue or genuinely caring about resolving it.

It has now been weeks without a functioning dishwasher, forcing our household to hand wash dishes every day while also juggling work and other personal commitments. The lack of coordination between the repair team and customer service has been incredibly frustrating.

For a premium appliance brand, I expected a much higher standard of customer service and after-sales support. Unfortunately, this experience has left me with very little confidence in Smeg's support processes. I cannot recommend Smeg's service to anyone, worst service ever.

CIR93AXS3 gas cooktop not fit for purpose. The labels consistently come off like clockwork after 11 months of use. not durable for a cooktop that is going to be exposed to heat and oil. This model is not sold by them anymore it appears, but they should still remediate it.

Smeg Victoria 900mm oven – Cooks well, stunning looking oven. Shame about the paint job. Had the oven just over 3 years with a 5 year warranty the back splashback enamel paint is bubbling and has come away in one spot. I raised the issue with Smeg warranty department. I supplied photos as requested but now crickets and after a follow-up email still no reply. With the cost of the oven I would have expected more customer service. Its a known issue Show reply

We purchased a Smeg dishwasher (DWA615DX3) from Bing Lee on 27/07/2025. Rust has been building up around the internal screws. This is the first dishwasher I have ever bought, that has such a problem. We paid $2190 for this top end model, which has now unsurprisingly dropped to $1860. Why would Smeg release such a poor-quality product onto the market?

to remove the glass top and demanded i get an electrician to do it (which i did and the electrician removed it in one minute by running a wire under the silicone which smeg's technician tried to lift it with utility knife and you can guess what happened next). When he came back for the second visit to replace what he thought was faulty, i pointed out a totally fried socket inside the unit and instead of replacing the socket he hard-wired it. The unit was not fixed and i had to wait an additional week to him to come to have a third look. He said the unit needs replacement. 6 weeks since the cook top stopped working, I'm still here on square one waiting......... can't be more frustrating to deal with. I absolutely regret the purchase of an overpriced appliance believing i would get a piece of mind.

negating having a 900mm. SMEG customer service response is shocking, responding with " it only comes with 1 or 2 shelves and the oven can only hold 3 racks at a time", when I am fully aware of this and have only been supplied with 1 shelf and 2 non-functional trays, which are useless as they pull heat from the oven when in use. I regret buying this oven and will never purchase a SMEG again.

Follow-up  · Heat distribution isn't good with the trays as they suck heat out. At least 3 shelves should be supplied with this oven and you get 1. Response from Smeg is horrendous. Absolutely no customer service at all

Follow-up  · The trays can't hold baking items like biscuits and are very narrow. Response from SMEG has been completely non existent.

this week. I did take all the necessary details, but because we moved everything is still in boxes, so I could not find the receipts. I remembered that I did buy a kettle from Smeg which was not the kettle I bought, but one for my daughter back in 2017. This kettle has been replaced by Smeg 3 times since purchase and a new one which is white, well the paint has come off. The women that helped me basically said tough! She did not tell me any options about repairers and was very rude. By reading reviews I can understand they must get many bad experiences. The purchase of these 2 products was not cheap and you would expect Smeg being so expensive would have better quality products.

Follow-up  · Smeg are the worst company. No help to find an appliance repairer, nor any other help.

Spent about 6 grand on gas top oven and rangehood. Touch display on oven needed repairs, done under warranty. Now 6 months out of warranty, used maybe 30 times in its life( live alone, use air fryer) and display freezes and have to turn off at main switchboard for house. 0 support from smeg. Extremely disappointing. Notice in the reviews they respond very selectively. Could not buy or recommend smeg at all.

electronic controller and it would cost $700. We got in touch with Smeg to see what they could do. After patchy comms the parts manager sold one to us for $400. Although it was worth fixing at that price point we felt that electronics should last longer than that and we still have to pay for the repair. Poor show!

Update ... the part did not fix the problem (either the part was flawed or that wasn't the problem in the first place). I got back in touch and asked how I might return the part and get a refund. Nothing ... an automated response ... I then tried to connect with someone higher in the organisation and all I got was bounce back emails saying he was on business out of town. And then nothing ... They don't give a stuff.

within a couple of weeks of buying a smeg dishwasher we noticed it leaking from right side of door. had to get service/repearer up to fix. He had to put silicon round corner of door to stop leaking.

Follow-up  · I can only surmise that the seal leaked due to manufacturing flaw. One should not have to employ a repair person on a brand new appliance, after only two weeks of use. I would not buy Smeg appliances again & can't recommend this brand.

I am extremely disappointed with this SMEG kettle. It stopped working properly in less than one year, first intermittently and now almost not at all. I've just moved into an apartment in Brisbane built in 2017 with all SMEG appliances. I am the 2nd only owner. The dishwasher looks pristine but this afternoon it refused to function. It powers up with a beep but the cycle panel does not light up.… Read more

If I press the half load button a couple of the white lights on the cycle panel flash but it is not possible to select a cycle. AI diagnoses the issue as a PCB. Now holding my breath to see the cost of replacement. Unlikely to have much change from $1000 given the high call out charge then a new PCB and installation. It is discouraging to have equipment failures like this. I've also had problems with the SMEG washing machine, microwave and fridge. At this point there is no way I would recommend this brand.

UPDATE: Following posting this review I was contacted by a SMEG service representative. They very kindly offered to firstly cover the cost of an inspection by their service agent and then the cost of repairing the dishwasher. I was very impressed by their response and clearly they do value their brand and client satisfaction. Thank you SMEG!

Follow-up  · Smeg were great in responding to my review. First, they agreed to fund an evaluation by their local service agent to determine the problem. Then, they agreed to fully fund the repair (replacement of electronics) even though the dishwasher was two years out of warranty. I cannot fault their response in any way and full marks to them. Thank you Smeg!

I can relate to a lot of the reviews here. I bought a set of SMEG small appliances, the toaster, coffee maker, and kettle. My toaster stopped working properly after less than four years — one side of the burners doesn’t work anymore. When I reached out to customer service, they told me it was out of warranty and offered to help with repairs, but… Read more

I’d have to cover all the costs. After I followed up, they gave me a 30% discount as a goodwill gesture. The funny part is that there was already a 25% sale on their website, so it really worked out to only about 5% extra off, and with a $35 shipping fee, it brought the total close to $280.00. I also, saw it for the similar price at another place....so not much of a gesture.

Overall, not the best customer service experience. I don’t expect appliances to last forever, but after spending over $300 on a toaster, I definitely expected it to last longer than four years. I’ll probably stick with the more affordable brands from now on, they seem to hold up a lot better based on my experience. That said, my other SMEG appliances have been fine so far.

I’m a cleaner and one of my clients has all SMEG in her kitchen. Toaster and kettle are fine but her oven rack plus microwave is terrible. The microwave went all rusty and I only use KOH on it! The other day I went to clean some grease off the outside of the bottom over near a switch and the outer coating started rubbing off! Looks terrible! I wouldn’t buy SMEG!

…. I have a $12 kettle in my studio :26 years old and still going strong .. we’ve had a beautiful ( looking) SMEG kettle for 4 years and it leaks … SMEG told me, “ cant help! out of warranty! dont make it anymore “ SMEG is posh & good looking but is actually glamorous RUBBISH

Follow-up  · …. the model I dont quite know , its a lovely pale blue with a matching toaster … BUT it leaks from under the handle and the only way to stop the leak is to empty it after use . …. SO irritating and so you know my 26 years old $12 kettle finally said goodbye and was replaced by a very nice new $13:50 kettle with a lovely blue light within whilst boiling. SMEG = glamorous junk

2 stars is for poor quality/performance. Less than 4 years old and the Smeg Kettle seal around the lid has come away at the handle and let's steam pour out over the handle; which means you cannot hold the handle safely as steam would cause burns. This was a gift I was so excited to receive, however, am now soooo disappointed, especially given the price tag. Would not buy one again, cannot recommend due to this fault.

My Smeg kettle has a massive bubble on the outside. I contacted the ‘diamond support’ team, and they said it is just cosmetic, and because it is out of warrenty, there is nothing they can do. I’m very disappointed as Smeg products are meant to be a quality purchase. There are multiple reviews where this same issue has occurred. October and the ‘Bubble’ has grown even larger.

Terrible quality. We bought an 8 year old apartment in Belise apartments Brisbane which had a Smeg integrated dishwasher, a range hood and oven and microwave. The oven and microwave seem ok although the microwave is really loud and doesn't remove internal steam well. The internal glass stays wet for ages and the rollers for the plate are fragile. I'm absolutely shocked at how bad the quality for Smeg appliances are. Often in Australia you see it advertised in real estate places as Smeg representing European quality. That's a joke. I've had Miele, Bosch, Panasonic, Blanco appliances for all over 15 years with no problems. I'm writing this review for the whole company because if a company like Smeg don't care about their brand name then they deserve to be blacklisted. Also on the apartment owners communication pages we all have Smeg appliances and the problems with the button control are all the same. That's an entire apartment building with the same problems. Everyone including ourselves have needed to replace the appliances as the fixing of the circuit boards for the buttons is overly expensive as they aren't making these units again. I'll never buy Smeg and I'm disgusted at the poor quality.
