NEVER BUY SMEG Appliances! – Absolute crap! Coffee machine doesn’t work, rangehood burned out (literally) and had to be replaced with a different brand of course! Nothing but problems, stay away from SMEG altogether! Disgraceful!

Brilliant Machine andExcellent Product Support – I got this I while back, around 2011. Never miss a bit until just recently, tech said it needs a new boiler. I emailed Smeg when it happened asking for advice. They gave a quick response and sent us a tech for free. We believe we got the most out of the machine considering it’s age. We drink coffee day and night. And it looks very sharp. All… Read more

our appliances are Smeg, we never have serious issues with it. . I have an oven that broke down but Smeg was very quick to support us.

Smeg are great Products you need to look after them to get the most out of them just like anything else.

Thanks Smeg

Persistent problem – I have all SMEG appliances in my kitchen; oven, microwave, washer/dryer and coffee machine. This is the second one I've bought as the first one had, what I thought was a one off problem, it stopped producing steam. The second one was not even 2 years old when it started doing the same. I had it repaired several times under manufacturers… Read more

warranty, however none of the repairs lasted very long and the fault persisted. It's now out of warranty and has broken down again. The engineer fixed it today and was only just away when it stopped producing steam, giving the message "heating up". He's now off to contact SMEG to try to get to the bottom of the fault. I accept that faults occur in many electrical appliances, however I am beginning to loose faith with this brand.

Terrible trouble with this machine – We made a decision to put all Smeg products into our new kitchen put in in late 2011 we purchased oven, induction cooktop, coffee michine dishwasher and microwave earlier that year but weren't installed until the kitchen builder was ready. My kitchen looks amazing and we were so happy but disappointed in the coffee machine as it has been returned… Read more

to the Smeg authorized dealer now four times since purchasing it. The machine won't product steam. Displays same message 'Heating please wait" and "General Alarm" You'd think after four attempts they get it fixed. Smeg have been fantastic when it was in Warrenty but of course its out now and when calling the other day they don't want to know about it. So disappoint in this product.

August 7th 2017 Update: Still having huge problems

Are reply to my other review. Still having huge problems with this machine . Ever since purchasing it's been nothing but trouble and again I will have to take it to the smeg repairer in my area . There seems to be a problem with the thermal overload . It never lasts more than 15months and burns out . Not a great product SMEG so disappointed

Don't buy! – This machine started off well, but after 3 years it is having one problem after another. I've spent a few hundred to get it fixed by smeg and it still isn't working. Customer service is slow and inefficient. This shouldn't happen considering how expensive it is to start with! Better off buying another brand.

Has been great until now – Machine worked fine for the first 3 years. It is now experiencing the same fault as reviewer Danny. When trying to start steam function a "Heating Up Please Wait" message appears. I am an Electrician so would repair myself but cannot find any technical information on the machine. Wondering if this is a known issue with the model. I would like the… Read more

Smeg rep to contact me also. Getting service repairs takes too long with most company's so prefer to fix myself but difficult when no info available.

smeg coffee machine – I bought this smeg coffee machine from harvey norman, and just under 1 year the front panel LCD wasn't displaying the whole messages anymore. In a few weeks it disappeared completely. Anyhow the machine was under warranty so someone came and we had it replaced. Now 2 years later the water stopped coming out of the diffuser, so I can;t use it… Read more

anymore. I'm not sure if the water pump is faulty or something else, but I'm not happy as it costs a lot of money and it lasted just over 2 years. I think since it is Italian made it should have at least 5 years warranty on parts. For the price it costs it should last at least 5 years. I'm very disappointed with the machine especially because its an inbuilt and I can;t get rid of it but I have to repair it and I believe that it is going to cost a lot. I'll think twice before I buy smeg again,

Great machine & looks beautiful! – We've had this machine now for around 6 months. When we first turned the machine on, it had a faulty water pump & we had to wait approx one month before a repairman could come down from the gold Coast to fix it as we live in Lismore & no one here fixes them. That was annoying as we had visitors over etc & couldn't make them a coffee! Other than… Read more ·  1

that, it's been a great machine. We bought the linear design to match with our ovens & it looks beautiful in our kitchen. Makes great coffee & the frothing component is excellent. My only gripe would the frothing parts & O'rings do wear out quickly & the smaller frothing part gets stuck inside the larger one however Smeg are very prompt at sending out more parts. The machine itself is worthy of 5 starts though IMO. The frothing parts are very minor issues & the water pump really was an unfortunate & probably very rare case. We have had to rescale it 3 times in 5 months but we do use the machine at least 5 times a week. We were also advised to go with this machine over one that gets plumbed in so save a nightmare repair job should any problems arise with plumbing. It's no problem having to fill the rank, it comes out easy

Smeg coffee machine, Linear design – We have the linear version of this machine which looks great and makes great coffee. I believe that underneath it is a Delongi. Have been using it for just over a year without fault and it was a demo machine. It is really easy to use with adjustable strength and size and various other adjustments. Occasionally will produce very weak coffee as… Read more

beans are running low but that is ok. We have all Smeg appliance and they have all been good and the after sales service has been excellent. My only gripe is it does not have a plumbed option so needs to be filled up with water occasionally so I took off one star considering this missing feature and the expense. It also just has a standard frothing spout which is ok, nothing fancy. Anyway it does make great coffee and if you can get it at a good price then you will be very happy. Matches all other Smeg appliances very nicely. Ease of use, great coffee, adjustable, looks great. Does not have water plumbing option

Good option – We were deciding on whether to go with Miele or Smeg appliances. Got a big discount on Smeg since we were buying other integrated appliances to match. Looks great when combined with an oven or other appliances and warming drawer. Needs to be descaled from time to time as all do. My only problem with this machine is that after about a month, the… Read more

amount of coffee coming out of one spout was not the same as the other. For example, filling two cups at once, the left cup got more, the right, got less. Tried cleaning the delivery spout, cleaned to grinder as instructed but never really managed to fix the problem. Other than that its an excellent machine. makes excellent coffee. Heaps of programs to choose from and easy to change them. great design coffee delivery level sometimes inconsistant
