Bought a Smeg CMS6451X from Good Guys along with other SMEG Appliances. Started using in May 2020 till Dec 2024. Was working steadily every morning preparing a cup of Cappuccino. This exercise required the Frothing Unit Daily. In Dec 2024, the Frothing function was refusing to work. Called Alantin (SMEG authorized service provider) paying $165 and… Read more
arranged for a repair. $1031 down for Spares and Labour. Since then the machine has not been working over the last 6 months with Alantin 'Fixing', then returning only to find the original fault. Alantin has taken the machine and returned 4 times with all failures after each return. The machine was only 4.5 years old when it packed up. After escalating to SMEG Australia the matter was resolved in a responsible manner where a changeover was arranged for a Brand New CMS4303X after settling a reasonable $$ amount. Happily back to enjoying the morning Cappuccino after 6 months. Thankful to Alantin and SMEG Australia for having understood the issue and providing a relief to us.
A downgrade over their previous model – We replaced our old Smeg coffee machine with this newer model. This model does not have the option to plumb water which is a pretty big downgrade in itself. Whilst the touch screen is better & makes selecting coffees quite easy, the coffee this machine makes is quite disappointing. The automatic milk jug does not produce a nice foam, the bubbles… Read more
are too big. Similarly using the manual steam wand doesn’t create the same foam quality that I was able to achieve with the old machine. This is possibly because you can hardly move the wand, making it hard to get it in the right position to create a smooth foam. The other major issue with the machine is that you VERY frequently have to empty the grounds & fill up the water. Almost every time I use the machine I have to do one of these. You also have to remove the attachments every time you need to empty the grounds or fill up the water. Overall, it’s just too much hassle to use this machine & I’d rather make an instant coffee than waste 5-10min with this machine for a mediocre coffee. I cannot recommend this machine.
So disappointed! – For the luxury brand, I am so disappointed with this coffee machine. The ground tablet doesn't go to the ground container and keeps asking to empty it. I have to wash inside the machine every time I use it. Only 4 months using this machine, not 2 years!! Show details

useful product – One of the useful product for those who love coffee. I took this machine from dubaimachines.com now getting from there. I like this product especially in the winter season, It is one of the reliable and useful products for beginners as well those who don't know how to make coffee manually. Show details
Awful machine... old model was better – Just installed this model after giving up on previous 5/6year old model - very similar to the other review we’d had it serviced about 4 times over last 2 years (at up to $400 a service) and finally decided not to repair it the the last time. Coughed up the big $ for the new model (as it matched our other built in appliances & for the existing… Read more
hole) Devastated to see they have scrapped the regular milk wand frother and created a milk jug frother attachment - so you can’t manually froth milk whatsoever!! The jug is awful and makes a huge mess, you have no control over the process and it does an absolutely terrible job. Coffee Looks like a bubble bath. Should have read the reviews... but naively assumed I was just replacing with the same machine. We’ve just thrown away over 4K and will still be buying coffees down the street.

For a premium product, try another brand – I had the original smeg coffee machine which was also plumbed in. This produced nice coffee and you could control the milk consistency. Over its six year life it went back for 13 repairs. The last one was the electronic board, which was going to cost more to repair than a new machine. It made rougly 300 cups of coffee for every repair. Not good… Read more
odds for an expensive machine. After much discussion the old machine was replaced with the newest model. Now i have to fill the water tank every 4 coffees, it makes terrible steamed milk, which there is almost no control over, and the coffee is barely warm, despite having the tempt to high. You are better off with a department store cheapie. At least you wont feel like you have been ripped off
