Can someone please help me telling how do I connect an external speakers to this tv as I tried a lot but may be I am doing something wrong somewhere?
There is no audio output for this TV, so you cannot connect an external speaker system from it directly. But the TV has awful sound from its own speakers. So what I did, was to just use it to display video. I connected a digital TV box to the TV using cable, and connected a home theatre speaker unit to the digital box. In a similar way, I also connected a DVD player to the TV, and connected the audio out from the DVD player to the home theatre speaker system. This meant that I had to use the Digital TV box's remote control to watch TV and change channels (or use a multi-unit remote, like the Logitech Harmony remote that can control several different devices), and use the home theatre for the sound (The Harmony can be programmed to operate the volume and channel on two different devices at the same time). But this worked well overall, and you can pick up digital TV boxes very cheaply at present, which seem to have a better picture than the TV itself, if you dont already have one.
