Avoid it – Like a previous review said - it's a piece of junk. Had exactly the same problem too - worked for a while, and now refuses to turn on. Did the turn-off/turn back on again routine. Nothing. Put fresh batteries in the remote. Nothing. It just won't turn on anymore. The speakers sound tinny - and there's no Aux Output so that you can hook it up to an… Read more
Amp. It's one of a few things I've bought from Kogan in the past - never again. The Digital Radio I got from them was great to start with and had a good, rich sound. But like the TV, it stopped working. I sent it back to them (at my cost), and they sent it back to me and said it worked perfectly. Um... no, it DIDN'T. Still had the exact same problem, so whatever it was that they tested, it sure wasn't the most basic of tests - to turn it on. Ended up binning it. Won't be buying anything Soniq or anything from Kogan ever again.
Really good quality – Smart TV, full HD, very good picture quality and user interface, sound quality is also very good. Will be buying soniq again in the future, this soniq has been better than my old samsung TV Show details
buyer beware – Actual piece of junk, had as a spare room tv.. barley used after two years and all of a sudden it doesn't turn on anymore. Speaker sounded horrible too. Do not buy this brand ever. Show details

Great TV for the price – Remote would not switch TV on, Then found if the on remote pressed softly it would switch on every time. I hope this helps someone. TV good for the price.
Had trouble with it initially the psu/logic board died jb hifi fixed it out of warranty – Once it was repaired its a 10/10 screen only nitpick is the backlight uniformity could be better but its such a good screen I've used it for a main monitor many times. Could not be happier with soniq they are the new sanyo and jb hifi coffs service was very good. Show details

Has Design Issues Which Cause It To Die – Hi All, I purchased one and from day one it required a few presses of the Standby button to get it going, typically it took 20 seconds from pressing the button to when the Sonic logo appeared but occasionally minutes - very frustrating. JB HiFi kept telling me 'check your remote batteries", "make sure you are pointing the remote properly" etc… Read more
etc. Even though after one press it 'eventually' started, disproving their low batteries and other excuses. Apart from this annoyance, it worked well etc. However, not it will not start at all, so I googled "soniq E48W13A won't start", only to find this fault was well known on this and on other Soniq's too. To add insult to injury, a simple firmware update would have fixed it properly. Now it's too late as the regulators have burned out. I pizzes me off that all JB HiFi needed to tell me was to update the firmware and the TV would still be working now. Needless to say I'm not going to buy a replacement from them.
crap. total waste of money – Was in the bedroom so rarely used, used to take forever to start up . then got worse ... suddenly no more start up. seems they have bad voltage regs on there main boards that die all the time. parts are impossible to get unless you want secondhand recon and pay price of new. mine is gone in the bin. Terrible! – This was a Tv in the spare room and was used once per month, if that, then I stated using it everyday about 8 months ago. To turn on the tv is a pain, there is a delay before it starts. Then one day it had still the stand by light on and would not turn on. Requested for support and technician said it is a waste of time, look for another tv. It is the worst tv I have ever had! Do not waste your money on Soniq TV. Show details

Ok picture - thin audio – This is a cheap TV, no question about it and I knew that when I bought it. It is supposed to be a really good value set but I forgot to test the audio when I checked it - oh wow! Its something else - thin and trebly and indistinct. I solved it by adding a sound stand (bought from Dick Smith) but that added a lot to the price. Please consider this as it made the bargain not so bargain like! Show details
Basic TV Works OK – We got this as a spare room TV and I wouldnt want it as a main one. Its main feature is its extreme cheapness and you can see they have saved money especially on the sounds. Its basically terrible unless you connect a soundbar or speakers. The picture is OK when you are looking at it but seems ordinary when I go directly to the lounge and compare… Read more
it with our Sony. Menus are and remote again are a bit cheap but work fine. Its cheap, it works! That's the best I can say about it.
Cheap and decent – Purchased this on a budget after the abrupt departure of one of my housemates. It works fine and we don't need to use it for much; we don't have a connected antenna and mostly just use it to Chromecast. Speakers are pretty bad and we always connect an external speaker through the headphone jack which makes movies much more watchable. If you're… Read more
looking for picture quality, Samsung, Sony and the other big brands have much better TVs, but if you're looking for a cheap no-frills TV, this one is certainly acceptable.
good for money – bought about 2 years ago and still running perfectly. beautiful colour and clear picture and sound. l used it as a computer monitor and have used it for long hours everyday. so far no issues at all. plus it is very light in weight, a girl can easily lift it. a good value for money. Great TV Den TV – Bought this as a little gift to myself for the den. It was very cheap and I needed a second set for my own viewing. The picture is very nice, bright and colourful. The sound quality is pretty bad though so I added external speakers through the headphone jack. I would say they you have to do this to make it usable and then you have a good cheap tv. Show details

Not the Greatest Just OK – This is a cheap TV and it feels like one to use. Its perfectly usable and does function well, its just no Sony or Samsung and fair enough, you get what you pay for. The screen itself has crumby colours and viewing angles. If you have a good quality TV in your house as well, its hard to watch this but if you use it separately, you don't notice so… Read more
much. I use headphones with it because the sound quality is terrible. You can hear it but its trebbly and thin. This is a cheap TV. It works but its average.
Dies are 2 years – Crap, don't get will die and cost you same price of tv to fix. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone. bad quality tv. Sound is ok, tv quality dull, has enough ports. Basic TV With Poor Audio – I got this for the guest room and its just average Picture quality is clear enough but colours are not right and dark moments can be hard to distinguish in movies. The sound is really really bad. You definitely need to connect another speaker system to make it acceptable. This is a basic TV and the price reflects that. I can only say its "okay not the best" Show details
Don't buy it – The picture quality is ok, it's good for 9 HD but it's just ok for channel 9. We needed to buy an extra speaker because the built-in speaker is not good enough. They do have enough ports. It is a smart tv but cannot find any useful app in the store. The youtube in the smart tv cannot be used anymore because the tv is not smart enough Show details
Never again! – I have had 3 fail in a little over a year. The first had a main board failure a month after the warranty ran out. Quoted $140 to repair. I replaced it with a factory refurbished model that lasted a month before the screen went blank. Soniq replaced it under warranty but the replacement lasted less than a week. Screen blank again. Not even going to bother taking it back. Show details
Excellent value! – The picture quality is excellent. I found the sound from the speakers to be very clear. The HDMI port are in a very good position , this makes it easy to watch movies feeding from my laptop. It is very light and easy to move around. It’s very good value for money. Show details
Solid performer – Good TV, had it for about 6 months now. It's not the main tv, which is smaller and downstairs, but I through it on upstairs and it's great. Never had issues with Soniq, but I've always treated them well and never bashed them around. The menu can be a little laggy though. Show details
Good for price but definitely not the best – I got the LCD Led TV for a guest's spare room. I used the TV just a couple of time. The management of settings are pretty simple but the quality of the image and the speed that it responds to the remote control seems too slow compared to other TVs in the market. It is good for a spare room but I wouldn't be happy to have it in the living room. Show details
I guess I got lucky – I had mine for just over 4 years, after which it would seems the backlight hardware started playing up (on/off issues). I need to point out that I was using that TV as my PRIMARY for everything, so it has up-times easily over 12+ hours a day, acting as as PC monitor most of the time and watching TV shows and movies the rest of the time, and even… Read more
RIGHT NOW, I had won an extended 1 Year warranty from an online competition, and Soniq is repairing it for me, like I said, I guess I got lucky.
The only issue I've ever had with Soniq - I've had a few of their TV's - has been that the sound quality of the speakers has never been more then average, and the contrast on the blacks is not as high as "expensive" TV's, but seriously people, Soniq TV's are cheap, they do the job, and you are not technically buying anything other then a 12 month warranty, so expecting 5+ years is totally unreasonable, from a ~$300 TV set.
I consider myself lucky to get 2y normally on ANY hardware, after which, I upgrade. You should only expect 5+ years on TV's over $2000, and even then, the store will make a warranty decision on the day, as almost no brands offer a "standard" warranty of 2-3 years on anything other then top dollar models.
Don't buy this tv – This TV lasted 14 months... not good for price. Display cut out. Cost to fix will be too much, you may as well buy a new $400 (NZ dollar) TV at that point anyway. Not to mention that 50hz in a cheaper TV like this can't handle displaying video games well on the PS4 which is made to play in 60Hz. Soniq is off-brand, next time we'll buy one that… Read more
isn't off brand, like Panasonic, at least their similarly priced TVs would be able to handle displaying PS4 games. It was a family purchase for general use in the lounge - playing movies, video games, TV channels - all that jazz - Terrible and not worth it, glad this series was discontinued...
Recommend checking reviews online first before buying and making this mistake.
Good for price – Brought this Lcd Led tv REFURBISHED,price was really cheap. Was suspicious..but when we recived it we turned it into smart t.v. with google chrome cast..Now it delivers perfectlyWhat a Norma household Needs.Never have an issue. Its really light.Previous I owned Samsung smart TV,i wont buy a smart Tv(waste of money),if you can turn a cheap one to… Read more
Smart tv. EXPENSIVE TV may should have 10 million color, but if a cheap tv deliver perdect picture who cares about trillion color...The only cons About this tv Is,with out Additional Speaker It doesnt sound That good to watch movie or music.I will Recommend this Tv ( dont waste money on expensive TV,technology change day by day, cheap one we can change as technology changes but expensive one we have to think so many times...My decent View ..)
Dont waste your money on this crappy TV – This is my second soniq 32 inch Tv the first one died just under 12 months old so Jb HiFi replaced it with a soniq e32w13a-au now this ones tuner started to play up after about a year half old & now does not tune at all. Anyhow my advice is don't buy a Soniq TV & its the old story you get what you pay for DON'T BUY SONIQ Show details
Terrible – My daughter bought this Tv which she saved for . Has not lasted , just has a blank screen and no sound anymore . Would not buy a Soniq again. Obviously not quality made. A lot of money for a kid to spend and it doesn't last more than 2 1/2 years. Show details
2.5 years maximum operational life – Purchased this model in February 2014. Worked fine for the first two and a half years, then it began to stay in standby mode. Initially the TV would come on if the power was turned off once, then it progressed to turning the power off multiple times to get it out of standby mode. Eventually it would not get out of standby mode at all. The TV was cheap but I expected it to last a bit longer than 2.5 years. No more Soniq products for me. Show details
Piece of Crap – TV constantly fails. Doesn't turn over, won't turn on. It's a disgrace. Never ever buy anything from this company. They clearly have no idea how to build TVs that work. Since purchase, it has stopped working at least 15 times. Try to update software and it works for a week, then fails again. Never ever buy anything from this company. They clearly have no idea how to build TVs that work. Show details
Good tv had no issues – I purchased this tv on a budget and didnt expect anything spectacular. Had it for almost 2 years now and havent had any issues so far, apart from some distortion from speakers when volume up high as of recently. Thats ok because im getting a soundbar anyway. Plus all tv speakers are poor quality so no biggy. Pros: Picture is always crisp and clear… Read more
whether im watching tv, dvd/bluray or playing ps4. It reads all video formats i can throw at it and has 4x HDMI ports. Cons: non smart tv but can use chrome cast or ps4 for apps. lacks audio output ports, only has optical out and thats it, not even a coaxil or headphone jack. EPG is basically poo. Doesn't support hdmi arc either. Overall you get what you pay for and i paid $499 from jbhifi for a tv that has served me well for 2 yrs on going.
Serioùs quality reviews and replacement immediatly paid all by soniq plus $ 100 cash – The tv is exceptable when it was functioning properly, however soniq claims their tvs are excellent products, with this model many failures any tv not lasting fully 3 years must be immediately replaced or better model supplied on the spot once examended by tech in purchases home, no expense to customer for anything full replacement with 3 year… Read more
full warranty!! Soniq MUST restore customers satisfaction and faith in their products if soniq cannot accept the truth about this model tv and replace or fix it no charge than you will loose many potential customers, i have worked in marketing no product faith no chance no sale no Soniq Rise above soniq your shortcomings Please!!
Total Junk - will not turn on – Soniq TV, would have to be one of the worst i've seen. Cheap, nasty and unreliable. internally , extremely sparse mainboard which has failed. Stuck in standby, won't turn on. Look it up, google this model and they all fail in the same way. Clearly a design issue. They say you get what you pay for but with Soniq, barely. Stay away from this brand
Used handful of times then tuner blew – 18 months old tuner went, put set top box on it then speakers went! Used in spare room about ten times! Load of rubbish, should have gone with gut instinct with cheap and nasty brand. Never again back to Panasonic. Picture was fine when it worked, sound horrible. Not much more to say.
Lasted 6 weeks – I brought this online through JB. It was a refurb and too cheap not to buy. Really wanting to replace my CRT but no money to do so, if I got 2 years out of it I'd be happy. Like other reviews, the picture quality was amazing, the sound a bit tinny (which I could put up with), the EPG was annoying AF only being able to view the current time, and… Read more
the remote was really good. Then I was watching it, paused to get my pizza delivery, came back and it was off, or so I thought. Turned it back on, started watching again then shortly after I saw the screen quickly fade to black, but this time with sound because this time it was still playing. Turned it off and on again. Unplugged everything then started again. Always sound no picture. Thankfully JB was very good and took it back and repaid me in full (after a bit of haggling with the service guy who was happy to palm it off to Soniq until I showed him an email from the store manager, then it was all puppies and kittens). I had already earmarked another (new) model to buy when I got my refund but now realise this brand is not worth the paper it's written on.
