Sony Bravia KLV-V Series

Many Years of Good Service – We have had this Sony Bravia TV since 2006. It is quite dated now, but when we bought it new, it was the TV that early adopters of LCD panels bought. While it only has a resolution of 1366 x 768, this High Definition (that is, 720p) panel looks quite sharp because the screen is quite small and thus the pixel density is reasonably high. A similar 32" display we have, doesn't look quite as sharp due to the extra screen real estate. In terms of reliability, this is excellent, as nothing has gone wrong in the last eight years. As for useability complaints that the other reviewers expressed, I don't agree. While it might not be as intuative, guiding and easy to use as modern displays, its not bad at all. I suppose some of us still like to drive manuals, rather than automatics. Cheers!
Terrible – It is quite laborious and counter intuitive to use. The setup is tedious having to go through screen after screen to make a simple change. The colors were weak and there was significant banding on my set. THe contrast was poor, especially the blacks which werent black. The controls are awkward to get too and it is inconvenient to use if you dont have the remote with you. Its hard to find any real good points for this poor performing and expensive LCD TV set. Expensive (much more so than better performing sets from other manufacturers).
Picture quality is poor, as it is quite grainy and blurry with any sort of motion on screen.
Excellent – it is a very good deal dor the money spent, with extremely good quality pictures . you can compare the picture quality to similar and more expensive pioneer lcd tv's this is a fabulous tv, with very good picture quality. Compared to other similar products, this has a picture quality unmatched by any. None so far
