Amazing workmanship – We picked up two of our guitars. The acoustic is 20 year old and the electric 35 years old. They were in pretty bad condition. We were absolutely amazed at the workmanship, they look and sound fantastic. Highly recommend this shop!

Repair of Maton M320 guitar – My thanks to John from South Coast Music for his comprehensive repair of my 1990 Maton M320 acoustic/electric guitar - which included a complete refret, spoke shave and seal of the fretboard, servicing tuners, lowering the saddle, raising the nut and cleaning and lubricating the pots and sliders. Also a complete clean and hand polish by South Coast Music was included. It looks and plays like a new guitar.

Love my Banjo and the service – Spoke with John before heading down to get ready a Barnes and Mullins Troubadour Banjo and I glad I did. He prepped it a treat, the set up is perfect. Love the sound and playability of my new banjo after having played a banger for my first two years of playing. I’ll be back to SC Music when I’m ready to step up my Mandolin.

Best guitar and customer service by far – I picked up a Fender Strat 60s Vintera yesterday from SCM. Had a full set up. Perfect guitar, worth every cent and perfect customer service. I'll be back. They're fantastic.

Disgusted – Had to pay for a new guitar before they would set it up.Couldn’t use a plectrum to test guitar.If you don’t went to be treated like a thief when you walk in the door stay clear of this business.

Worst in-store experience ever – Very strange setup where you can only browse instruments through the caged front windows of the shop; labelled by the owner as ‘the grand tour’ (perhaps he has a sense of irony) and then squeezed into a 3m x 1m space in front of the counter if you want to try an instrument you haven’t been able to browse or select in the first place. while the front door alarm keeps chiming because the space is so small. Apparently the proprietor doesn’t mind the noise while not apparently caring whether you do. Don’t bother visiting and definitely don’t bother buying.

Dont bother giving them your business – Went in to look at purchasing expensive ukulele. You cant get past the counter but I didnt even get that far. Waited and waited while someone in front talked rubbish about a set of strings. The area designated to try instruments is tiny, very unfriendly. I left because noone even acknowledged me being there, sorry you missed out on a big sale!

One of Australia's best online music stores – South Coast Music is one of the few music stores that carries stocks of unusual items like Turkish style darbukas and acoustic bass guitar gig bags. My gig bag arrived today, ahead of schedule. Unfortunately it seems that South Coast Music no longer allows customers the amazing experience of browsing through its Aladdin's cave of floor-to-ceiling shelves packed with all sorts of musical instruments and accessories.

Not able to look or browse – Went in yesterday to look at buying a travel/parlour guitar. I could not look at the range they had but the staff bought out guitars they thought would suit, then was given no space to try it. counter where customers are served and you stand and play there. There is barely room for two people. Service was good but the whole shop setup is bizarre. They also say each guitar gets a setup worth $200 I have had my guitars setup by luthiers and they don’t cost that much. They do seem to have a huge range of guitars but no room to try if you are looking to buy but prices are higher than what you pay elsewhere.

Unfortunate customer service from this business – Unfortunately this business is less than receptive to customer complaints/feedback & only seeks to prove a point. We all know there is no right or wrong in music, just compromise to achieve a desirable outcome. A know it all attitude which falls just short of labelling the customer stupid is less than perfect. Shame to have to post a negative review for an $18 string set, but you've earned it folks.

Overpriced, under serviced – Paid well over $1000 too much for my high-end guitar, emails appear to be ignored. Will never use or recommend them. Strange aggressive attitude when questioned later. Used car salesmen running a music store.

Good Service – I've bought a number of instruments, accessories, and had my guitars serviced and repaired with excellent results. I recently had a new pickup put into my acoustic guitar and was thrilled with how the guitar sounded afterwards. It was a HUGE improvement and John worked within my budget range.

Worst Business in South Coast – My mate came in there today to buy a capo and some strings and you charge him over $70 That is the most rudest and most expensive thing that has ever happened to anyone that I've sent in there for such a small basic product and also gave his bad advise on what had to be done to his guitar (you are not a Luthier).....and another mate you made him… Read more

buy $110 flatwounds for his bass and when he tried to put them on 1 snapped... He is a rock player and only needed basic strings so if one snapped he could buy another but instead you talked him into another $110 set to replace the one string witch snapped again causing him to after $220 and 2 trips to town he had no working bass..... Also You also have tried to Repair A Dimebag Darrell guitar for my mate who is blind and have absolutely ripped him off. The neck this guitar is now unplayable with big gouged marks on 11th-12th frets and frets above 12 on the 6th string have been shaved to beyond repair (buzzes like hell) and you have charged him $1,500 to repair a $4,000 guitar made this thing unplayable. Also the wiring was only held on by two joints. You have ripped him off blind. Ive been in the industry for 25 years and never come across such a rude company with no regards for there customers.

three more days so I rang back again. All sorts of excuses over the phone about slow computers, orders normally updating automatically, but not this time. I almost fell asleep while the same nonsense flowed. Surely that sort of poor service discourages customer loyalty. I will certainly look elsewhere next time I'm tempted to order from South Coast Music.

take ages for them to get their crap together to investigate and track where the item is. What most disappointing is the VERY RUDE manager named [name removed] whatever. Incompetent dishonest and rude – Ordered an item from.their online store that was meant to arrive in a week It didnt.no tracking number provided either. lives there-well suddenly he needs to send one out again as he is having issues with despatch. This time there is a tracking number. I asked where the other tracking number was. He replied saying if i dont want them (both what a joke he hadn't even sent one at this stage) that i could just refuse delivery and have them sent back to the post office. I was thinking -as a customer that has now waited almost 2 weeks-that they may send me what i paid for by express post. But no. I have another week to wait and then he tries to blame the bush fires. Mate my dad lives there. He just sent my kid a birthday card and then a parcel in the same mail service and they arrived in 3 days. I am very angry and apart from the inconvenience this has cost me money as a teacher and cost me 2 gigs at this stage. Never again. Lies,rudeness and using the bushfires as a scapegoat for his own lack of professionalism was the last straw. Dont bother buying online because who ever runs that show has zero idea and couldn't care less.

Great to Deal With – Purchased a Kala BanjoUkelele over the phone for a reasonable price. The instrument arrived earlier than expected and was set up to go out of the box. Despite being very busy I found the South Coast Music Team to be a pleasure to deal with. Will use them again in the future.

Don't buy from these guys! – This store is an absolute stitch up wouldn't let me return a faulty edrum kit. They responded to emails up until I asked to return the faulty product. Now I have been stuck with this drum kit that has a non responsive hihat and as a result has been sitting in its box for 2 years now... Thanks guys for the service I really wanted to spend $600 on a product that is terrible!!
