Global Shop Direct

Hi Kathryn, the 'feedback' in Product Review represents less than .002% of Fast Sews sold in Australia alone. We have a 30 Day Money Back Guarantee. Why not try for yourself instead of trusting some random person on the internet?

Sharon S.
Sharon S.

not an answer to inspire good customer feelings Global Shop Direct. People post reviews because they are frustrated at receiving a dud product. Why not address the product issues rather than throwing shade at reviewers who are sharing their experiences? And trying to encourage yet another person to waste their hard earned cash on a faulty product in a venue such as this is just laughably poor judgement on your part.

How to intinally place fabric on the machine ?

Peter Wall
Peter Wall

To initially place fabric, lift up the spring loaded, base guide plate and slide fabric under, then let the base down.

My fast sew is set up properly but it won't sew. It doesn't catch the bottom stitch.

Jezemeg8
Jezemeg8

As it's a single thread sewer, the lower part of the seam is a chain stitch, not a straight stitch on both sides as in conventional sewing machine.. I suggest altering the tension (the knob above the needle) moving it first clockwise then anti-clockwise until the stitch is formed correctly.

Lainey R

Thank you Jezmeg8, I will try that and let you all know.

I’m having same problem. Tried tension still not making stitch.

my machine is not sewing because the thread is not getting into the bottom catch

Good luck, neither did mine.

Jezemeg8
Jezemeg8

Hi Ramesh, I've had no problems with mine. Try adjusting the tension knob (the small one at the top of the machine that thread goes through), perhaps the tension is too tight to allow the thread to form the chain that it uses to fasten the stitch.

Hi Bought 2 machines and followed instructions but still cannot lift the needle sufficiently on either machine to remove the sample material supplied with the machines. The needle does not go up high enough. Can you help.

Hi Ray, Unfortunately I think that this is a rubbish product, I can’t even be bothered to try and get my money back because they make it so difficult. Just remember the name Global Shop Direct, and buy nothing from this group. In the meantime, they provide a Customer Service no. 1300 137 598 Give them a ring and maybe they can help you. By the way they send everyone two machines because basically they want to get rid of their rubbish stock. They are currently running their ad using the Starlyf, and it looks wonderfully easy to use and trouble free. Well you and I both know this product is a dud, and there is nothing absolutely nothing about it which is trouble free. Sorry I could not be more helpful, I got so frustrated that I binned both of mine. The only power we have is to let as many people as possible know that this machine does not work. Regards, Emma

Thanks Emma. Thanks for your reply. Should have read the reviews before we bought - our mistake. Cheers Ray

Jezemeg8
Jezemeg8

Hi Ray, I found that using mine was easy. Lifting the needle is done by the larger dial on side of machine, the one with the arrow on it, twirl it around to lift/lower the needle then hold the metal bit that holds the material and lift that up to both release the sample and put in the material you want to sew. The long black thing that comes in the little packet is to hold a spool of thread, no need to wind the bobbin which is easily done by hand or, if you have a larger machine, on that. All you need to do is ensure you wind it evenly. If you don't put in the batteries the correct way the machine won't work and you have to slide the lock at the top of the machine back all the way so that you can press to activate the sewing.

Thank you for your reply. Have finally worked it out. Ray

Jezemeg8 How do you get it to loop the stitch.?

I wish I’d checked this site before wasting my money. There is not one positive review for this hand held sewing machine. How can you get away with selling rubbish?? Global Shop Direct is trashing the brand because consumers will never buy from this group again. You need to refund the funds to all dissatisfied customers. Global Shop Direct should be embarrassed and ashamed, it looks like you’ve duped so many customers.

Any company that sells this piece of crap needs to seriously look at themselves...its verging on dishonesty

costly mistake
costly mistake

It is dishonest because global direct still takes Starlyf Fast Sew as a client. This machine does not work, the makers are in business selling a product they know does not work. What could be more dishonest than that? I’ve seen Starlyf Fast Sew being sold by Australia Post. Australia Post needs to be told about the croc product sold under it’s banner.

costly mistake
costly mistake

I need to write to the head of procurement at Australia Post and suggest they read these reviews before stocking Starlyf Fast Sew at their suburban post offices. A government business should not be distributing faulty products.

So how do Iwind the empty bobbin

Kay
Kay

I have no b idea!!!! As I said in my review neither of my machines worked - think they’re rubbish

Jezemeg8
Jezemeg8

The black spindle holds a reel of cotton, it is easier than winding the bobbin.

Jezemeg8
Jezemeg8

I wind the bobbin by hand, it doesn't take that long to do but it is best if it's fairly even. Or if you have a conventional sewing machine as well you can wind it on that. But it's even easier to use the spindle instead of a bobbin and simply use a spool of thread.

The thread that is inside the fast sew has run out after about 30cm of sewing. I would like to know how to refill/replace the thread. I can replace the bobbin on the outside but no where can I find instructions on the inside cotton/thread. This is mighty frustrating.

charlie

I am pretty sure there’s no inside bobbin haveing no luck with mine trying to raise or or lower the needle next it’s not picking up lower stitch
