Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology

SNP does not automatically lodge a Medicare claim when the account is paid. The customer has to process the Medicare claim themselves. This is an outdated process and not good customer service. I'm going to ask my doctor if in future my tests can be processed through a Pathology Service that does process the Medicare claim as well, or bulk bills.
More than terrible customer service. The phone was finally answered after 33 min ( I guess they think they are the only ones working!!!). Although I paid the bill already (and got an electronically receipt) I got 5 letters by mail to pay an overdue bill. It feels like the right hand does not know what the left hand is doing.

Mishandled my wife's blood sample – Firstly, this (nurse?) Was very unfriendly. My wife has small veins so, for some (nurses?) it is hard to get a blood sample from her. After having finally (with much jabbing and stabbing) taken a sample, the (nurse?) instead of following the… Read more
appropriate procedures took another sample from myself. As a result, the wife's blood sample coagulated and was found to be unusable in the test lab. My wife, with her small veins, now has to be jabbed and stabbed all over again, whereas, if it would have been done properly the first time, this would not be necessary. In my experience some of the nurses are very good but most are very bad with this company.
Follow-up · Some nurses are very good at taking blood and are very friendly. One cannot even feel the needle, and the experience is quite good. However, this company sometimes uses inexperienced people. One does not know who one will get.
I recently had bloods collected at the Landsborough (Q) rooms. I am a "difficult collect" but Cathy always manages to find a vein. She is truly an expert. I truly appreciate her professional skill and helpful approach.
Follow-up · Wait times were minimal. Parking available out the front and back of the rooms and on the street. Situated in close proximity to the Landsborough Medical Centre and Pharmacy. Staff always treat you personally and professionally.

08/08/2025 Ever grateful to Kitty at Noosa Civic MediHub for her most competent professionalism. Painless and she found a vein first try. Previously I'd gone into shock when earlier blood takers treated me like a pin cushion finishing up piercing the back of my hand as failed at both arms. What ever Kitty is paid it's not enough. SN can use more… Read more
competent operators like Kitty who retains my gratitude not to mention relief. In appreciation .. Bill Forbes Noosaville
Just visited their Palm Beach QLD office and had blood taken by Eliza. I did not even feel it. She is incredible at her job. I do hope to see her each time I come for blood.
At there Everton Park outlet I was very impressed with the professional friendly service I received while waiting in the room I read a poster saying the the PM wants to cut back on funding for the service it's ok for people that can afford millions of dollars for a house like our PM but those people on a pension or limited income it will hit them hard!! Thanks to the great staff again

NO PARKING FOR PATIENTS, NO WAY TO CAPTURE THE ORDER OF ARRIVALS, INCOMPETENT COLLECTORS....my experience anyway. EG... SNP have policies that show disregard for patients' time and comfort. They don't honour the order in which patients arrive. They have no systems to capture this data. Not even a simple number card to collect. It's not that… Read more
hard. They have become too big to care. In the 18 months since I arrived in Coffs Harbour I've needed blood collection at least 4 times probably more. Each occasion I've used SNP and they've caused me inconvenience and physical discomfort. Last time the girl who was on by herself didn't know what she was doing and couldn't get the sample in the end. She blamed me for fasting too long! Just incompetent.
This time I arrived fasting and the place wasn't open. It seems on Thursdays they open at 9am. No sign of this anywhere on their premises. Went to the next one and they had already a room full of people, at least 20. After 10 mins of waiting someone came out and took the forms off several of us in no particular order and said to wait. After 40 mins of little activity and still waiting I phoned Coffs Harbour Pathology (NSW Health) to see if they were busy. They weren't so I left the SNP waiting room and will never return as a patient again.
CH Pathology have a numbering system, hooray. Didn't matter because no one else was there. Donna who looked after me was professional, patient and kind and I was out of there in under 10 mins.
Horrible customer service. Don't answer their phone, and recorded message gives a phone number for a random company. Dont bother calling their head office number, they'll be rude af and hang up on you. Doctor prefered but fk that for a joke.
Went to the Sullivan Nicolaides at Ashmore City today for a blood test for my prostate (PSA) and some other things. Stressful time for me as I have lesions on my prostate and have a biopsy booked in 2 weeks. The fear of a cancer diagnosis is real. I tried to be cheerful but the lady wasn't having it. She is a competent phlebotomist but has the… Read more
worst bed side manner I've ever seen. Extremely rude. She seems extremely controlling and clearly isn't in a job she enjoys. I left feeling upset enough to want to write this review which I've never done before for a blood test of all things. What is the world coming to.

I visited Ipswich Sullivan Nicolades and was looked after by a lovely young girl. Emily was friendly, gentle, personable and performed her job exceptionally well.
I recently attended hospital emergency and was referred for tests, but at no stage was I informed there would be an additional cost. Days later, I received an email bill from Sullivan Nicolaides for $125. It took a long time on the phone to get through and speak with someone. I eventually paid the bill via your payment system, which does not… Read more
automatically process a Medicare claim. Instead, patients are required to lodge a separate claim. Even after paying by Visa, a receipt is not issued immediately — it takes up to three days. This is a very outdated and inconvenient system, especially when most providers issue instant receipts and process Medicare rebates automatically.

Received message from Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology to call as soon as possible, spent 29 minutes waiting for the call to be answered, feeling very worried. When finally answered it was just to be told there's a charge of $50 for a test carried out on Friday that they won't release until the account is paid. Lat time I was sent an account I promptly paid. Disgusting amount of time this has wanted, and the stress it has caused.
I am so sick of this pathology, I had a test in Feb 2025 and wasn’t told I needed to pay anything during my GP appointment, ended up being $130 so what can you do I PAYED it then next day over the phone to one of their staff members, it’s been over 5 months and they continue to call me, email me and message me saying that I haven’t paid. sent them my receipt and screenshots of my bank account so many times to show them I have paid!! Then I get an email from the debt collectors, I’m losing my mind, I’ve spoken to so many staff on the phone and no one has any clue and can’t resolve this issue and they continue to contact me, I’m literally a 20 year old girl, leave me alone
Visited Coffs Harbour location, was not advised of fees. Randomly received an invoice, when challenge there was a not saying that it was discussed with me and I advised it was ok to send me an invoice later. This conversation never occurred
Will not answer phones to book an ECG Appointment, made 6 attempts the contact the only pathology location in range, their general service number is left off-the-hook.
I have just been back to the Pimpama pathology to give another blood specimen, and I have to say fantastic service again, I hate needles and I was served by another staff member, who was very good at her job and made it as comfortable as possible many thanks David
Appalling customer service. Wait times are twenty minutes plus on the phone. Don’t warn you of fees for pathology tests at collection and then contact you the next day demanding payment.
Extremely happy with my visit to Sullivan Nicolaides – I recently visited Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology in Mount Isa for a routine blood test, and I was thoroughly impressed with the level of service and professionalism I experienced with phlebotomist Jedda.
Why would you use Sullivan Nicolades when they expect payment that others don't charge for? – Don't use Sullivan Nicolades - they charge you for pathology when others don't - they claim only part will be paid by medicare, but the doctors know they are just making money from pensioners and people who can't afford it.
The village upper mt Gravatt employee should be sacked – 20/1/25 had to attend Sullivan nicolades at The Village, Logan road upper mt Gravatt Qld, so I went in , sat down, and this male prob mid to late 50's comes out of a room, takes my form, and says won't be a minute, disappears back in his room, returns to tell me I should have a mask on, as I followed him to the room , I said, look give me my sheet… Read more
I'll go somewhere else, he made me feel very uncomfortable. and he is all dressed now in a hazmat suit with a full plastic face shield, all this for a throat swab. He swabs my throat, then proceeds to swab inside my nose, so I said, this form says throat not nose, he goes with things the way they are today! So I got up and left, I have never been so insulted in all my life, if I knew it was fancy dress I would have wore a costume too. His manner towards me, with an asthma cough was disgusting.

Frustrating Billing Issues and Poor Communication – I am extremely disappointed with the service provided by Sullivan Nicolaides. I spent hours on the phone with your call center explaining that my health insurance covers my blood tests. The staff member who took my blood even confirmed there would be no charges. Despite this, I was sent bills to pay. After speaking with the manager on the phone,… Read more
I was assured the bill would be disregarded, but I am STILL receiving messages from "ReveriesCorp" to pay these bills.
This is completely unacceptable and has caused unnecessary stress. It’s frustrating to deal with such poor communication and inefficiency. I expected better from such a reputed service provider.
staff cutbacks or just too big to make good corporate decisions – Could not get through to local collection centre so then rang the 1300 020 349 number to supposedly speak to a representative. Waited, waited, heard the repeated recorded message about how good they are and how I had advanced in the queue. Waited, waited and still waiting. Maybe QML is the new answer from some of the reviews. Staff shortages,… Read more
cutbacks, who knows but this is the last time that I deal with Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology and will be letting the doctors and specialists that I have appointments with that this business practice.
My doctor and specialist will be in contact with you – I suffer from a peptic ulcerthe nurse at the casino sullivan nicolaides told me to stop taking my pantoprazole for the urea breath test and I ended up in hospital with my ulcer nearly perforated
Great service at Ballina Tamar Street – Just had blood tests at Tamar Street Ballina NSW branch. Young girl Hayley served me, only been working there 5 months but did a great job! Very friendly, efficient and painless procedure. All the girls there are amazing (frequent visitor) good to see they have recruited another lovely person. Juli
Sullivan Nicolaides takes your blood, and your wallet – I attended Sullivan Nicolaides yesterday for a blood test. I was given a card regarding how to obtain my pathology test results. I have declined using the government's 'My Health Record' , which gives them access to all my private medical information. Sullivan Nicolaides charges patients who decline using "My Health Record ' $20 to see their own… Read more
test results online . This is an exorbitant fee, and I will never use their services again. They are rorting an opportunity to claim that delivering the results to the patient is not part of the medical testing process, which has been paid by medicare. I say they are scumbags, and if every online enquiry cost $20, the internet would cease to be used.
Incompetent service received – Zero stars if we could for last Saturday 19th October 2024. Apparently 2 staff members on and chaos. An hours wait with no explanation nor apology. tried to call when I was busy and tried to call back but phone always switched off? Thats some apology not.
You walk out miserable – Every time I have had to come here it’s always been the worst customer service. If you happy to walk in with a smile on your face, be prepared to walk out with a sad sour face. This is at the Wynnum pathology. There is never anyone at the front reception either, if this is due to being under staffed or purely laziness I wouldn’t know
Hail Janita Tiggy-Winkle, phlebotomist extraordinaire, 11/10 – I can heartily recommend S&N at Chester Rd Annerley. Visited yesterday and for the first time in my life I did not feel the needle go in. Would that that happened every time. Many thanks to Janita Tiggy-Winkle (phlebotomist extraordinaire) for this literally painless procedure.
Good humored, patient and professional – We live in a regional area of Queensland and really need all health services. We recently had to have pathology tests and have them logged into the health system for further action. Sally at the Maleny SN office was wonderful - first in doing the tests and then following through with the hospital to ensure the results were received. Good humored, patient and professional- well done Sally. SN make sure you keep this treasure.
Only contact if you have plenty of time to waste while kept on hold – In this day and age, it is a disgrace for a company to provide so little in informative customer service, no matter which of their phone numbers you call, or locations you contact! Instead of incessantly playing their recorded message giving themselves a big pat on the back about how good they are, maybe they should employ more staff to answer… Read more
calls and cut wait times down!
I tried local northside S&N locations when the Brisbane city location didn't answer after almost an hour on hold, however several close to me were listed as closed on the Tuesday, and others had no phone number at all listed, including the one closest to me.
In two calls referred on from the Brisbane location switchboard, I was given different answers to the same inquiry, and information contrary my last experience at the Clayfield S&N. I was also given different information in my last conversation with the Brisbane S&N (on in home collection for a family member) from that provided to me earlier by the S&N staff member I spoke to in order to book the home collection appointment!
That is where I gave up as it will be easier for me to walk to the local collection centre and see if I can get a definitive answer matching one of the 3 different scenarios described previously - that's one of the S&N with no phone contact number provided!
I tried to call patient services again next morning before walking to the closest S&N in Clayfield (where I know I will be sitting in a chair for an extended wait as always happens when I have gone there for a test). Again, switched to a second extension in the hope of getting answers to the very basic questions asked the day before - I gave up while waiting on hold again before the call was answered - silly me, I should know by now that this is a non productive thing to do in an attempt to obtain some form of customer service!!!!!!!!!
