Supafry Solidified Oil Questions & Answers
Can I buy it in larger amounts?
I’m only aware of the one size
Is your Super Fry animal fat solidified cooking oil a hydrogenated oil?
I was buying it and cooking with it and liked it BUT will not continue until someone there at your company can answer this question
Does supafry oil expire?
I've used it five years after purchasing and it was fine
Is Supafry tallow?
Which country is Supafry produced and is there information on what quality or kinds of animals the fat comes from?
Hi Suze - Australia as far as I'm aware, but why not read the label in the supermarket?
Thanks. Yes I should have, before I threw the wrapping out! I’m more interested to know what quality and kinds of animals are used.
Does Superfly contain trans fats
You would be better off contacting the manufacturer - but from what I know about food manufacture I would not expect there to be a need? The fat used is readily available from animals via abbatoirs in it's pure form; so there would be zero benefit in modifying or adding to it? Also if you want more info - research how the so-called vegetable oils are made and their now well known inflammatory actions in the gut, joints, brain etc, it will put you off them, for life.
Are you here to sell us some pseudoscientific book or talk about your own experience with the product? By all means answer a question but leave the sketchy woo at the door.
Does this product contain trans fats if not did it ever
Hi does supafry contain pork ? . Yes / no.
It's animal fat, so it may - you should contact the manufacturers for that information. Cheers Steve
I thought hubby had drained the deep fryer. He had not. Oops. Does anyone know how long it will last at room temp? It's been more than a week. I'm getting told 6 months if not refrigerated. Is that correct?
It will oxidise and become potentially rancid over time - but if it's only a week it will be fine. If ever in doubt though, for the low cost involved it's best to discard it. By the way, I managed to locate the old fashioned type dripping container on eBay that stores it really well in the fridge. Regards Steve
Thanks, I will be hunting on eBay 1st chance I get. The covered glass bowl I use now takes up so much space.
Hi what happened to the other supafry vegetable the yellow packaging where can I buy it from they don’t have it at woollies and coles
Hi Layla - why not look at the contact info on the label, and ask the manufacturer?
Do I need to refrigerate after use?.
Hi Wilfried, yes ideally - it's best for longest life - I do leave some in the frypan for next use at times though. The reheat essentially sterilises it, in my opinion (only).
Does it need to be kept refrigerated?
Does anyone know the smoking temperature?
I was advised that supafry is better than extra virgin olive oil for people with high cholestrol- I find that hard to believe. Can anyone share some information before I use this product
Hi Vera, that's also what I am learning too. Olive Oil is VERY good, it's the best of the non-animal fats, but some doctors and nutritionists are now leading back, to what our parents and grandparents etc ate for thousands of years - animal fats, like butter, lard etc. And, can i say - don't be too spooked by Cholesterol - our bodies make it, it's supposed to be there and lots of hormones are made from it. Steve
Hi, which animal fat is used in this product. Is it halal or pig is used or not?
I'm sorry - please contact the manufacturer for this information.
Hi, can I use supafry mixed with margarine in my pastry. The recipe says lard and margarine but our local store only had supafry.
Hi Angela - I have never tried it, but it does sound like a proper substitute, essentially the same thing. You could also try Wik, which is available at Coles.
Steve
thanks Steve.
