make threats saying don't accuse my staff doing fraud. Well guess what shonky staff employees a working at this institution. There job is to fill their own pockets in not the creditors and still leave you in debt. Shonky practice. Criminals at their finest SV partnei
Totally Inept - will not respond to creditor enquiry, will not advise creditors, will not follow up preferential payment, fantastic if you're a crook, come see there people!
I strongly advise others to avoid engaging with SV Partners. In my experience, they acted in a highly unethical and predatory manner. I was referred to them by a pre-liquidation advisor—that later became obvious was a lap dog and working in collusion with SV Partners and completely conflicted, the pre liq 'advisor' got me to pay $15,000 upfront to… Read more
SV Partners with promises of specific outcomes. That advisor also demanded an additional $15,000 payment which i stupidly paid. This was the biggest mistake of my life.
None of the promised services were delivered. What was discussed verbally bore no resemblance to what was later documented. Instead of exploring a Small Business Restructure - which would have been the best outcome - SV Partners proceeded directly to liquidation, clearly prioritising their own fee generation over my best interests.
My business was effectively taken from me for much less than what was offered to me, and I was left out of pocket around 200k, misled and ultimately worse off. I should of engaged real advisors that had my best interests in mind and I should have been recommended a small business restructure, rather than accept promises over the phone. Based on my experience, I believe SV Partners lack transparency, ethics, and integrity. Proceed with extreme caution, they will lure you in with promises over the phone, and act completely contrary when they get the reigns to your business. Avoid them entirely.
I will be seeking compensation. I'm in the process of filing a formal complaint and will ensure this corrupt firm is held accountable.
As a bankrupt with severe, diagnosed disabilities (Bipolar Disorder and Autism Spectrum Disorder), my experience with SVP Partners has been nothing short of appalling. Their conduct not only demonstrates a shocking lack of empathy but, more critically, a profound and actionable disregard for both the Bankruptcy Act 1966 and the Disability… Read more
Discrimination Act 1992 (Cth).
Despite providing clear evidence of my severe financial hardship directly stemming from the non-discretionary costs of essential medication and treatment for my conditions, SVP Partners explicitly stated that my illnesses "did not count" for a hardship review under the Bankruptcy Act. This is a direct, legally indefensible contradiction of Section 139T of the Bankruptcy Act, which unequivocally provides for hardship relief based on ongoing medical needs for illness or disability. Their arbitrary dismissal of my recognised disabilities as irrelevant to hardship is a blatant act of discrimination.
Even more shockingly, when faced with my inability to afford vital medication due to their garnishment, their "solution" was to suggest I use Afterpay. To advise a bankrupt to incur more debt for essential healthcare, rather than exercising their statutory duty to alleviate genuine medical hardship, is not just unprofessional; it highlights a breathtaking ignorance of insolvency principles and a cruel indifference to human well-being. Afterpay is debt, not income, and its suggestion only underscores how unreasonable their financial demands are.
This trustee's actions constitute indirect discrimination under the Disability Discrimination Act 1992. Their inflexible garnishment policy, combined with their refusal to acknowledge the specific and substantial financial burdens imposed by my disabilities (including medication, treatment, and the need for emergency funds due to unpredictable health crises, as well as increased daily living costs like prepared meals due to my conditions), disproportionately disadvantages me and other disabled individuals. Their claim that my disabilities "don't count" further establishes direct discrimination through a clear failure to make reasonable adjustments.
If you are a bankrupt, especially one living with a disability or chronic illness requiring ongoing medical expenses, I urge you to exercise extreme caution when considering SVP Partners. Their administration appears to lack both the legal competency and the human compassion required to manage complex situations involving disability and genuine hardship. My experience has led me to pursue formal complaints with relevant regulatory bodies.
Avoid at all costs, unethical practices, approached SVPartners to assist with turnaround, quoted by [Name Removed] - a solution for $50k that would resolve all our problems and assured me I would not require to go bankrupt. Over 18 months SVPartners took control of the business from me, forced liquidation, sued me in the Supreme Court, forced me… Read more
into bankruptcy and 18 months later they have collected $300k in fees and counting for a small business that independent analysis said was nothing short of a business taking advantage of duress and maximising their fees. At time of turnaround the business had $400k in cash, in the end SVPartners have paid themselves $300k. Beware of these unethical advisors, they care only about the deal, once you’ve signed with them they’ll do a 180 and line their pockets. Other industry professionals are shocked at what happened in my case. Avoid at all costs. Legal action being considered.
Unprofessional unresponsive – I wish I had of read this page of reviews before a hired this company to assist in closing down a major company with very little debt. My request for an update on progress, multiple emails, calls and text, all unanswered. Creditors not paid, yet the company has taken an extremely large slice of the profit margin for their own payment of service.… Read more
Staff not paid wages, but this company got their fee. I strongly urge people to look deeper than this company. It’s not good to deal with Matthew or Glen. They really don’t care as soon as you sign the contact.
SV Partners – I personally had a terrible experience dealing with Jason Porter from SV Partners. In hindsight, I was wrong to believe that appointing a liquidator who is Executive Partner of SV Partners and now also Vice President of ARITA would provide the best outcome for Creditors of my four companies. In my honest opinion, there needs to be a complete… Read more
overhaul of this industry so that my personal experience doesn’t happen to other members of the community.
Originally, in September 2019 the liquidator provided me a cost estimate of $15,000 per entity to liquidate each company. After his appointment, the cost estimate immediately increased to $25,000 per company.
After almost 4.5 years of dealing with this firm, total company funds wasted in this liquidation process was approx $670,000 across the four companies for very little benefit in return for Creditors.
I wasted so much of my time over the past 4 years writing emails to the firm querying cost blowout, ongoing delay and rationale for spending so much money from the company assets.
In the recent judgement handed down by the NSW Supreme Court In the matter of Wealth Street Pty Ltd (in liquidation) [2023] NSWSC 1482, the judge stated “This evidence is difficult to understand because the two reasons identified by the Liquidator as causing him to realise that his fees would exceed his $25,000 estimate are also mentioned in his list of the matters that he took into account in arriving at the $25,000 estimate”
