SWANN ARE THE REAL CROOKS – Less than 1 month old keeps freezing up having to reboot, Swann come up with everty available excuse ,donot want to replace hard drive cos its knackered. Pus one camera lost night vision. Donot buy rubbish
fantastic security system – Swann 8 camera security system is great and ease to install. I purchased the 8 camera system because it was $100 more from costco for the 2 terabyte 8 camera system. Everywhere else offered the 4 camera system 1 terabyte. For seven hundred odd dollars. The B&C connecters click in easily and power to the camera is also fed through the same cable but is split at both ends to power up the camera. It connects to your router and if your router is setup for giving an auto ip address then its very simple setup. You download a program from google play or iphone downloadand log in your network password while your connected to your house wifi and its up and rrunning.
my tablet shows all the cameras in an instant and my son logged in when he had a night out with friend from his iphone.
BAD POINTS.

It does not come with a screen, no big deal everyone has an old PC. Flat screen lying around.
The cables are not long enough at 10 meters each and it doesn't come with joiners to connect them together. You can purchase 10 of joiners on the internet for 6 dollars.
you can purchase 30 metters of cable with a joiner from bunnings for $40 and it is rated weather proof.
The small screws make it very hard to attach the camera to the wall.
The camera has very small security allen screws on the camera to adjust the camera angle and you are provided with a small allen key to adjust the camera angle. This is very hard when your on a ladder trying to get it setup.
since this last report i have installed 5 cameras and i am very happy with the system
i lost a cord to install the power on the 4 extra cameras so i rang swann in port melbourne and they sent me a new one in the mail for free.
i have been able to check my house from my tablet when i go out all i need is a WIFI and it logs in Automaticaly.
fantastic. Next i will try to pin point areas on the camera that will trigger an email to me when they are crossed

Since i wrote this article our neighbours across the back of our house have had a break in. The thieves had entered their apartment while they where sleeping and taken a substantial amount of things including their wallets and keys to their car. The cameras picked up the break in from across the road and even though it was about 15 metres away and on the second floor with poor lighting it showed a man and woman leaving with the goods and coming back in an hour with another person and stealing their car as well. With a fearly good discription of the features the police where able to also pick the thieves up at the local supper market cameras using the credit cards. Eventualy they where captured and some of the goods returned and a damaged car.
