Syneco 100kg 3 Step Aluminium Ladder

I had this ladder for around 18 months and, until recently, had been very happy with it. Unfortunately, the second rung, which is rated to support up to 100 kg, suddenly snapped while I was standing on it. I weigh just 74 kg. The failure caused me to fall from the ladder. Fortunately, apart from a significant scare, I wasn't injured. However, I understand that other owners have not been as fortunate.

I'm writing this review to warn potential buyers to think carefully before purchasing this ladder. What concerns me most is that the ladder is still being sold by a major hardware retailer despite the apparent issue being raised previously. This is evident from earlier reviews and the retailer's responses on the product page.

After posting my review on the retailer's website, I was contacted immediately and was able to return the ladder and choose a different brand.

I specifically chose another brand because I no longer felt comfortable using a Syneco step ladder where the steps/treads are secured using screws. After experiencing a failure like this, I simply didn't have confidence that another step wouldn't eventually snap or detach in the same way.

Thankfully, I wasn't injured, but a ladder failure can have very serious consequences. Based on my experience, I would strongly recommend potential buyers carefully consider this issue before purchasing.
